    Herman Moore needs more respect as a best receiver all time. He was the first guy to go over 120 catches in a season.

    • @johnselwitz5362
      @johnselwitz5362 5 месяцев назад +1

      He was fantastic in the mid 90s. Moore had three seasons in a row with 100+ catches and at least 1,300 yards and was an All Pro four seasons in a row. He deserved better than having to rely on Scott Mitchell or Charlie Batch to throw him passes. Imagine if Detroit had gotten a good quarterback like Warren Moon to go along with Moore and Barry Sanders, they would have had the best offense in the league.

      That sucks. At least you didn't miss all of his TDs. I went to the game in Tampa in 1997 and was lucky enough to witness another one of his best days. 24 carries 215 yards and 2 rushing TDs (80, 82) and 1 receiving TD. The only RB to ever have two 80+ yard Touchdowns in the same game. Which he would have done another time if a holding call hadn't brought a 2nd 80+ yarder back against GB. I'd have to research it, but it may have been in 97 also. Cheers 🍺 to watching the best running back in NFL history have 2 of his best days, in person. I remember the moment I became a lifelong fan as I was awestruck by the inductees riding through the parade almost 40 years ago. Ripple effect. Ended up having to draft another tackle. Instead of picking John Janson who was a two year captain at Michigan and played on 97 national championship team, who also played 11 years in the NFL (10 with Washington 1 with the Lions) we draft Aron Gibson a guard out of Wisconsin to move to tackle. Wasted pick.

I want to find every potential free agent acquisition, draft pick and future head coach, grab them by the collar and tell them, "Listen, man. You're a great football player (or coach) now. But if you sign that contract, you'll just be a Lion. Don't do it." Also, Lions fun fact - no former Lions head coach has ever been a head coach with another team.

    Barry rightfully gets most of the attention but Herman Moore was a very underrated receiver in the 90s.

    I remember that I was in Chicago for Thanksgiving when I walked into my relatives house seeing the end of this game. No they were not happy with that plus with the fact that the Packers led the NFC Central Division.

    Was this the season when the Bears started with 7 straight losses but the close win vs. the Dolphins denied them a record 8th straight defeat? And the absolute kicker was the loss vs. the Packers when Erik Kramer tried an ill advised 2 point conversion instead of an easy extra point that could have tied the score and maybe send the game to overtime? That shitty decision should have cost coach Dave Wannstedt his job!

    I wish the Lions would go back to these uniforms. Their current uniforms and their throwbacks look downright ugly. No wonder why the Lions have it this really bad in the NFL.

    The Bears scored 73 in the 1940 NFL championship vs. the Redskins. The Lions could have scored 80 if they wanted to, given the ample time on the clock in this game's last quarter.

      He played in 4 games in 99. The Lions in the 90s lost several promising young OL. Utley paralyzed in a game. Andolsek killed by a truck working in his yard in the off season. Roque ruined his knee in his 1st NFL start, which was this game.

    just think how many yards barry woul dhave had this season if he hadn't sat out the entire 4th quarter of this game. the way that defense was tired out. he would have ran for 400 yars probably

      At 2:36:51, James Brown predicted that the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Troy Aikman who had a back injury is questionable to play against the Tennessee Oilers, otherwise game time decision. Ronnie Lott thinks that the Dallas Cowboys could win the game without Troy Aikman as long as Wade Wilson and Emmitt Smith run the ball carefully, however, Howie Long thinks that it would be difficult for Wade Wilson to be successful.

    Lions better draft a rb in the 2020 draft! John Taylor is my pick! It’s in their dna to have the most exciting offense in the nfl. Just like it’s in the bears dna to have a horrible qb!
