The 85 Bears played in the worst division in football that year. The Buccaneers, Packers and Lions, are you kidding me???? The Vikings were their only competition, and they should have beaten the Bears on Monday night. The Dolphins picked apart that so called great Bears defense by matching up therir fast receivers on the no-covering bears defenders like Gary Fencik and Mike Singletary. What a dream year for every long-suffering Bears fan. I remember this game so well, they made the cover of SIs next issue (a big deal back then) and then lost to Miami on that fateful Monday night two weeks later. So thankful for youtube to be able to re-live it. As for that glorious '85 season, John Robinson, the Rams coach at the time, nailed it as far as dealing with the Bears that year. He said the key was to try to "not let them get started". So true but good luck slowing down that freight train.

@@earnhardt3613 Bears had a BETTER defense in '86 under Vince Tobin, though. Letting Wilber Marshall and Willie Gault go - Ditka wanted to prove he could win with a bunch of nobodies; he LOVED the scab team of '87 - was the death knell. And McMahon's inability to stay healthy.

Madden talks about Payton enjoying blocking and hitting more than running the ball, the same guy who threw the worst hissy fit in Superbowl history because he didn't get to run one in

This game was not on Thanksgiving! This game was November 17, 1985. Thankgiving in 1985 was on November 28. The Cowboys played the St. Louis Cardinals on Thanksgiving Day at Texas Stadium and won 35-17.

A buddy and I had relicated to jobs down there n Grand Prairie n '84, so we watched the Bears develop into this MONSTER of a team. I had to work during the first half but watched the second half at home during their SB blowout of the Patriots. Being a Cubs fan all my life, I guess what it took fer the BEARS to win the SB XX, we accepted it, hard to do that !!
