Malek Akkad is really cool. He should write a novel or something about his experience with the Halloween franchise and being the heir to Moustapha. I also remember he said "I could write a novel about all the horrible pitches I got" that would be awesome and I would seriously spend a hundred bucks for that...
Yeah, love his honesty. "Halloween 6" was a big disappointment to most fans. I'm certainly glad Danielle didn't do the film and get killed off. But there are people who really like this film, as you can see by the comments.
The best part of part 6 is????? This was the last time we got to see the legendary Donald Pleasence try to win the battle against Michael Myers RIP Dr Loomis the series died when you passed away.
Crazy how u look at H6 from (95) then you look at H20 (98) and they look like they are from 2 different decades. The film quality, the music, the setting, the budget and the storyline make all the difference. I remember when H20 cameout I was hooked and then I saw all the other Halloweens after that

"Ahead of its time." I'll always have a soft spot for this movie -- I remember reading the Fangoria articles decades ago, before it even came out, and it was the first Halloween film I ever saw in a theater -- but acting like H6 was 'Hereditary' before the world was ready for that is pure horseplay.
It's a darn shame Brian Andrews wasn't found in time to play this part! Does anyone know who owned the Jeep used in this movie and also its whereabouts? That Jeep was excellent.
Trust me, I know it’s NEVER gonna happen, but I’d kill to have Daniel Farrands’ original full script directed by Joe Chappelle, with NO studio bullshit interference. Literally start from scratch. By all counts, Daniel’s original script was incredible, and I love the feel and atmosphere that Joe created with his direction.
I remember renting H20 and then after that I got the original Halloween for Christmas. But Scream was my first taste into the horror genre at the age of 12
While I appreciate many things about the direction of the producers cut of Halloween 6, there are still things that I love from the theatrical version and so I'm currently working on my own mix of the two releases as a sort of personal project I want to take on! I've always wanted to make my own personal cut of Halloween 6 because I truly believe it could be a great film if done right! It won't be easy but should be lots of fun!

The thing that made Halloween great, was it's slow and suspenseful pace. Something that H20 and every movie after 7 forgot.. The first two did it best including atmosphere
I will say the producer's cut only needed some touch ups, the complete removing of scenes, a new ending, and challenging the cult angle was unnecessary. They should have added the flash montages, tiny moments of gore, and maybe add to the ending. When making a film you got to have a clear vision of what you're doing otherwise stuff like H6 happens.
And thus Dimension Films became known as the place where horror franchises go to die. Or suffer in perpetual DTV hell, which is kind of the same thing.
Producers cut was a much better movie all together minus the part where Michael got his niece pregnant, and the horrible way Jamie Lloyd was killed off, but that part was bad with both versions. So damn if you do, and damn if you don't

I wish that they would have gotten Danielle Harris to play because when the other actress gets killed everyone is like " um.. Ok" and just shrugs their shoulders, she had no emotional value. Also if they would have gotten a good story line all of the Halloween movie would have been really good, but also there is some good movies in this franchise.
Minus the black white sequence where Jamie Dies in the hospital but there are no gunshot victims in Halloween films. Also minus the 3rd act of the film.

They should have made a new movie with a different plot, but not call it "halloween" because just like Halloween III, it is NOT part of the Halloween series in the eyes of the public. Congrats on ur creative little changes, but wrong time, wrong film, wrong series. The only reason anyone watched it was because it was the "next one, part 6" of the "halloween" series. But it was a disappointment, just plain weird, fans hate it, and even Paul Rudd has stated it was "the most embarassing role in his career" and that he was not a fan of it. I am sure Akkad won't cry over this review, but he should know that this movie is in the same boat as H3. aka crap/not the "halloween" series. Epic Fail.
the Halloween franchise should of had a remake after part 4.. showing Michael surviving in part 5 some other way then floating down stream and ending up in some fisherman's house.. part 1,2 and 4 were all great movies ... Halloween 2018 remake was bullshit also along with the Rob Zombie ones
I enjoyed the 2018 movie (even though they completely ignored part II which I didn't like). 5 and 6 had some things going on for them imo. However, ending the original series end after 4 then going into a remake does sound interesting.

Not that they didn't (looking at you Resurrection) but I think it's mostly for that 1978 Halloween nostalgia why they went with the direction they did. Honestly I think if it was better fleshed out, the curse of thorn aspect could be better, but Michael Myers is more interesting when you don't know as much about him. Quentin Tarantinos pitch I think had potential IMO. I just enjoy seeing Michael raising hell the way he did in the 2018 film. @ Neither one of them conceived the idea or wrote the material that gave us Halloween. They are responsible for all the garbage that came from the 80's and after. John Carpenter's material is easy to identify if you watch his films. Most of the franchise is not his creation.

I do to. I didn't like the stones controlling Michael. I didn't like Jamie being shot in the hospital. I dont like the Loomis getting the mark of thorn . some is the best moments of this film are in the theatrical cut. The hospital chase

It was a terrible film, none of the sequels ever captured the suspense of the first film. The sequels are bearable only for nostalgic perpursoes rather than actually being good.
I’d make a case for Halloween 2 and the new series (so far anyway, we will see how “Kills” and “Ends” turn out) but the other films… yeah you’re kind of right. 4 and H20 are passable but everything else is bad to fucking awful.

H6 was bad but it was totally different then H4 and H5 considering the other 2 films were filmed in the late 80s and H6 cameout in the mid 90s
