Omg, I wish more people were as kind as you are and showed how to do stitches on chunky yarn. I watched someone else video and i couldn’t tell if she was doing it in every stitch or every second one.
It's like an "extended" half double crochet then. Kinda helps my brain to remember it that way. So if this stitch was being worked in the round you would have to chain and turn after each round and not work continuously or you would not get that "herringbone" effect, correct?

Thank you your tutorial is only one that made any sense
Wow never would of thought of a stitch like that.
Thank you so much, looks like a fun stitch
Wow si easy to understand. It helps using big yarn and crochet for the tutorial. Thanks!
Thanks for explaining how to make this beautiful stitch! So simple but so pretty! 🙂
Great! It might be helpful for beginners to see it done on the start chain as well.😁💕
I did this herringbone stitch using only the back posts and it turned out beautiful!
Great job of simplifying this stitch! Thanks!
Thanks Ashley, I’m about to become a sock making fiend. Your website is amazing. From Australia 😊
At some point I learned this as regular hdc and only recently realized I had been doing it “incorrectly.” So glad to know this variation has a name.
Such an easy stitch. Thanks
thank you, I'm learning so much from you as I just started 2 months ago.
Thank you❤️

I see multiple videos showing at the end some are doing double loop some are single before turning over, what is the difference please?
Thanks for making this so simple!
Do you have a video doing this stitch in the round?
Hi Kay! I do not...but it wouldn't be any different than working any other stitch in the round.
@@HeartHookHome thank you
Lisa love the reverse shell video, what pattern is the blanket?
Would this stitch work with painted canyon cardigan instead of using just plain half double crochet
This is my first crochet project. The thing that I'm not sure about is when applying a border to this, would I use single or double?
What is the height of this fished stitch?
Hi JoJo! It's about the same as a dc, but it's going to depend on the yarn and hook size.
Dotty dishcloth pattern
Isn't this just a dc then? What makes a herringbone hdc different than a dc??
You pull the first loop through like a slip stitch, not like a dc.
