    For me, an alternative to buy female kits than just to buy an anime female figure and I get to enjoy building it up and see the final product. Really love this Kotobukiya line

    NGL ever since I built my ATK Girls Arachne kit I've been pretty obsessed with the kits where you're building a cute anime girl. They're a fun change of pace from building gunpla kits.

    I have to say the prints of these are excellent. Three of them revolving together look like straight out of an anime.

    I recently came upon these figures, they look interesting and fun... i might try to work some into a Neca TMNT display, like a busy street... girls on their way to school, turtles in disguise. And some of the accessories look really cool. I especially think the nippers that come with some of these (the 2 frame arms girl ones) would be nice for Donnie to use.
    Also, I just found your channel, subscribed for the info on these!

    Next time I see someone complaining about option packs as “DLC” I’m going to point them to this kit series. These kits have all the options and they cost about what Bandai charges for a similar number of hair options, body option, and armor options instead of clothing options in the 30MS line.
    I would love to see a video comparing the girl model kit series now that 30MS is out there. What’s compatible and what isn’t.

    • @ninjatango
      @ninjatango 3 года назад

      30MS have DLC but not day one DLC removed from the core game to sell later

    • @fantastiCkiLler92
      @fantastiCkiLler92 3 года назад +1

      That's why I don't like 30ms kits....you literally has to buy the option parts separately and those option set are not always in stock. And they freaking sold the face parts separately....and guess what, no eye decal to be found in any option sets!
      Sousai Shojo Teien line give you 4 faces and 4 blank faces with tons of decals, and 3 different hair style....yeah...I rather pay 6000 at once than paying couple 1000 yen here and there for 30ms option parts....

    • @tylerttinsley
      @tylerttinsley 3 года назад

      @@fantastiCkiLler92 I think stock is a short term problem.
      I feel option sets allow people to buy more of what they want. I would love a budget kotabukia girl kit. But at $60 to try it I probably won’t.
      Personally I feel the latest 30MM core kits like the ninja and samurai are the perfect blend of enough to enjoy on its own and compared to original 30MM releases.

    • @Falmung
      @Falmung 3 года назад +1

      @@fantastiCkiLler92 Honestly if they weren't out of stock it would actually be great since you only buy the parts you're going to use. Look at people buying Kotobukiya arcanadea girl just for the wings.
      However, the 30ms kit seems too barebones without the extra armor especially since the extra armor includes the converter to use 30mm legs.

    This looks cute but pricey when compared to Koto's own Frame Arms Girls or Megami Device. I feel you get more from those because you get armor parts, weapons, etc. Maybe their target audience is different with these but ¥6000 is like MG price range.

    • @somechinesedude5466
      @somechinesedude5466 3 года назад +5

      If you consider "sculpted clothes" & "casual design" the market offer, albeit resin conversion kit, then the price is justified
      The market is completely niche & lack option, not to mention clothes for 1/12, 10 & dolls generally cost as much for lesser quality (i'm talking at you, azone picconemo)
      Also, the box art, its a bonus

    • @ninjatango
      @ninjatango 3 года назад +4

      They are definitely charging full Megami Device prices but without all the MD mecha parts and options. Like paying $60 for just the unarmored Asra body. They should be $40. But people bought them anyway, so that ship has sailed, sadly. Now we can expect less from these kinds of kits going forward now that they've been told via wallets that they can include half as much but charge the same money. See also Figma. They jacked prices up $20 across the board on them just because they could, while also cutting the accessories down to half or less.

    • @bh47
      @bh47 3 года назад +6

      @@ninjatango For real, figmas now often hit $100 or more at retail price is just crazy for a 1/12 anime figure.

    • @fantastiCkiLler92
      @fantastiCkiLler92 3 года назад +8

      If you compare to the figma ridiculous price, 6000 yen for each model kit is pretty cheap and you get a whole lot of option in one box.

    I would love to see Kotobukiya make an attempt at Figurise LABO; basically, 1/7 unpainted scale model that you have to put together, but with molding details similar to other 1/7 PVC but at half the price.

    Still waiting for the Ao Gennai release to display her with the Frame Arm Girls cast. I honestly don't mind the lack of mix-and-match compatibility since straight-build kitbashing usually looks bad and no compatibility means the designers can deviate more from the Megami Device body plan.

    I'm confused now.
    Are some of the parts including heads compatible with Megami Device or are all of their heads compatible but the rest of the body depends?
    If the heads actually are compatible 100% the extras easily increase my interest in this line.

    • @waydezilla
      @waydezilla 3 года назад +1

      The heads are interchangeable but you have to swap out the ball joint since Megami Device have slightly bigger ball joints. It comes with what your need to do this. The legs/arms dont really swap at all because they use different attachment methods for the joints.

    I've always had a healthy mix of Gunpla and mecha musume kits, but as of late have been really into the later. This has been a big win since Gunpla is like Supreme or the like. I am really hoping that we get a ton more 'Shojo style' products well, because: 1), I dig the aesthetic and there are some pretty cool things coming from the Japanese and Korean builders, and 2) This could be bad or good, but I think kits like this will be wayyyyy too into the 'greasy otaku' realm for most Westerners. Hell, my mom is going to help me make some outfits for my kits and I don't see that being something that is as normalized as whatever Cruncyroll is passing for Ecchi.
    I've always been of the mindset of 'more, the merrier', but gunpla is getting ridiculous with the availability and prices. People and some shops are charging the same amount for a MG (retail release), that a brand new PG cost, like a year and a half ago. I just hope that it chills out somewhat, in the near future, and not turn into a status symbol like bourbon did.
    Sorry for the rant. Always dig your reviews. I look forward to the next vid!

    These kits seem perfect for "build fatigue" when you just want a break from the regular more complex FA Girls and Megami Device kits. but yeah that's way overpriced.
