    300,000 miles is not tired. I have seen many with 500k+ that are worked everyday.

    They have stiffer spring that can be purchased that dose the same thing.
    Just remember with the added fuel pressure causes more strain on your seals in the bowl and system. Can blow out the tired old gaskets and such ,causing leaks.
    Good job on the free mod and video

    One should always pull fuel from a clean container to rule out other problems before doing the mod.
    I did the mod 5 years ago, and the spring did get wore out. Recently I was getting less than 45 psi under load with 60 psi at idle, 70 no load.
    From a clean container as well as from each tank.
    I pulled the spring and stretched it, tossed it back in and I'm back to 100 psi idle and 80 under load. I will be ordering the updated spring. Either from ford or online, depends on price and how long I have to wait to get it. I'm curious if I could make an old injector needle spring work though. I might try that today.
    My next mod will be a pulsation damper like cummins uses in their PT pumps to smooth the pulses (much like a pressure tank in a well, or a capacitor in an electrical circuit) .
    I just haven't decided how to build it.
    It's possible the plastic cup on the regulator is already serving that function but has failed. If so fuel pressure between pulses will drop off dramatically, but wont be detected on a gauge with an orifice.
    Before I put an orifice inline with my gauge, the needle was bouncing in excess of 60 psi . Which means the injectors are only sometimes getting 60psi. Sometimes less.
    I will investigate this further.
    Bb mod is great, but it's not a long term solution, the spring should be replaced with the updated spring and then shimmed with shims from an injector kit or other similar type of washer/shim as the spring wears out. An inexpensive oil pressure gauge can be used to monitor pressure long term on the dash, it threads in where the shrader valve is.
    I will note that 200 psi will cause a hard start and poor running.
    I was playing around to see how high it would go, and anything over 100 psi is not recommended.
    A 700 hp drag truck uses 67 psi. So I would be shooting for 65-70 under load.

    Have a 97.7.3. Changed the mechanical pump (Carter) two years ago along with fuel bowl assembly, hoses etc.
    Started leaking fuel in th o the Valley, what could be most probable cause?

      There's so many possibilities I have no clue best advice I can give you is order that fuel bowl delete kit like I installed on my truck Solved a lot of my small leaks and also there's so much more room to work on a truck now.
      I have a link up to the gentleman that sells them on eBay you might wanna check it out hes the cheapest around on that kit

    Did you notice a difference after your fuel pressure went up, as far as idle and power?

    • @FLORIDALIFECLIPS
      @FLORIDALIFECLIPS  5 лет назад +1

      I did notice huge huge difference NO the problem was my fuel bowl and I had injector problems.
      If you're having fuel pressure issues or power you need to do a fuel bowl delete and have your injectors rebuilt Then you will notice a huge Difference.

    I did this on my '95 with 280'000 and my #5 injector went out a week later. Don't know if the bb mod caused the injector problem but it cost me friggin' $700.

    • @FLORIDALIFECLIPS
      @FLORIDALIFECLIPS  5 лет назад +2

      Well there's a lot of factors involved here 280000 with original Injectors?
      By doing this mod you don't blow one increasing the fuel pressure you would have blow more than 1 you have other issues going on with your truck.
      And whoever charged you $700 to replace one Reman injector took you for a nice ride because I can get a whole set of 8 rebuilt $600
