Local Tennessee officials are saying this is the worst hurricane to ever affect Tennessee. Places are Erwin and Greenville are facing absolutely catrostophic flooding. However, is this means anything, another town, Winchester TN, was spared from catastrophic flooding because of the last minute easternly track of the storm. Winchester is fairly populus with about 10,000 people living there. If Winchester was added to the major flooding list I gurenattee more people would've died, especially since this area is quite poor.
WOW 😲 The devastating affects of Hurricane Helene seems to hit so many other states than Florida. I sincerely hope everyone is found safely or at least accounted for.
I recently purchased a small farm south of Asheville with the intent to retire down there in a few years, and will have to see if my home and barn are still standing. My heart goes out to all affected. I will be heading down with my dogs to perform search and rescue and my dogs are also earth movers. I will bring as much supplies as I can transport to hand out to those impacted by the flooding. I would not be surprised to see the death toll rise. The speed at which things manifested and got out of control, perhaps trapped a lot of people in their homes and vehicles on the roads. So very sad. That has been a very beautiful region of our nation, many people from the NE retiring and relocating to the Asheville and NW NC and NE Tennessee regions.
Sending prayers, as someone who had to ride out Harvey I feel yawls pain! Being standing in water for days with no supplies with devastation all around you isn’t light. Add in mudslides and you get another level of destruction!
That’s the consequence of not installing better sewage systems and upgrading the existing infrastructure to compensate the rising threat of increased frequency of extreme storms
I’m hoping that a majority of these people are safe with friends and loved ones and because of the massive damage, they have no way to contact everyone. (No power or cell service) I’ve been thinking about these people and their families since Friday night. I live very close to waverly, tn, where flash flooding caused many to lose their lives. I saw the devastation and pain that caused, so my heart goes out to them all. Do we have a list of the missing yet?
I hope everyone recovers swiftly and strongly from this, there was so little time to prepare or evacuate. Especially the mountainous regions, it takes so long to get out of there that there's no way they could've escaped.

We had about 125k people in the dark on Friday here and the number is slowing going down . I feel so bad for everyone affected by this .
I think a lot of people were just looking at this as "just a storm" and not a hurricane. Because from the projections, how could you say you didnt think it would be so bad?
Can't imagine the elderly who are able to be home but are frail. The ones whom don't have family near or have distanced themselves cause they don't want any responsibility to help them out like Dr appointments or getting to the grocery store. Thank goodness for transit bus in our county. It's aggravating you have to wait for them to come pick you back up,but it's better than no way to get around. Some are in wheelchairs as myself. We can do a lot to take care of ourselves, we learn as we go. Basically you're on your own, when kids are dealing with kids of their own. Most are teens now,and in activities at school. Jobs to help pay for large homes and food, gym every morning before work. Their lives are busy an I don't want them putting their lives aside to take care of me. Plus they live hours away. Buying homes closer to work and looking for good schools. I'm just proud they doing well themselves cause times are hard for everybody. All it would take is fir one to loose their job and they would be struggling. So I don't put the guilt trip on them. I never will. Guess if I were faced with power outage for days I could make it but all that flooding that no one anticipated is frightening. Resources are tight for older retired people. Staying a week in a motel is out of the equation. Hopefully some one would come around checking or a number you could call to get to safety in these circumstances. I noticed there were shelters but don't know if they were set up before or after the storm. If before one could grab a back pack throw in their meds an a changing of clothes and pray for the best. Old people are full of knowledge cause they have had years of experience. Wouldn't hurt to listen to them. Not all are feeble minded. Just life illness hits them to,like everybody else. But you will find out who your friends are if you're hurt from some accident or illness that causes you to become disabled. Like can't walk ,see, or a stroke that leaves you not able to speak. You will have your parents, parents will be there to take care of you as long as they are able. They will be the ones who won't turn their backs mo matter how old you are. So look around,if you know of an elderly person in the building where you live or down the street call the help line and let them know about that person. If at all possible do it yourself. You could be the one that saves a life. ❤

Experts have said the brown water isn't safe to drink.
Or to walk in. Dangerous toxins in that water.

WOW 😲
The devastating affects of Hurricane Helene seems to hit so many other states than Florida.
I sincerely hope everyone is found safely or at least accounted for.
Dozens? Hundreds.
My heart goes out to all of you along with prayers. I live in Boulder were we had flooding this bad in 2013. Except we didn't have the loss of life.
It is Never safe, with people still missing.
People are saying it's 1000 plus missing people. You're down playing the reality of this hurricane aftermath
Sending prayers, as someone who had to ride out Harvey I feel yawls pain! Being standing in water for days with no supplies with devastation all around you isn’t light. Add in mudslides and you get another level of destruction!
My heart breaks for all these folks.
That’s the consequence of not installing better sewage systems and upgrading the existing infrastructure to compensate the rising threat of increased frequency of extreme storms
this is all so sad :(
I’m hoping that a majority of these people are safe with friends and loved ones and because of the massive damage, they have no way to contact everyone. (No power or cell service)
I’ve been thinking about these people and their families since Friday night.
Praying for everyone. ❤️♾️
Prayers to everyone affect about this catastrophic storm keeping you all in my prayers🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😊
It's so tragic and horrifying how devastating climate change is -- and how so many people believe that they're safe because they don't live near the ocean. Climate change affects ALL of us.
So what specifically caused this? Hurricanes have been happening for thousands of years. Nothing we do on this earth would have prevented this from happening
@@Blueduck-fl2iw Actually people who have studied this topic for decades have concluded we are seeing more extreme weather events more regularly because of climate change. Just because *you* don't understand it doesnt mean very, very smart physicists and modellers do not. Do you understand how your iphone works?
@@2011hwalker yea bot I do, so what specifically are we doing that is causing this. Maybe you should read False Alarm because a lot of this bs is scare tactics. The climate is changing but there isn’t one thing we are doing to cause it and there isn’t one thing we can do to stop it
Prayers for all!
“We’re trying to keep everyone alive” with a case of PBR in the background lol. At least get some good beer haha
We're in Augusta, Ga. We've been without power for 3 days now, people are just camped out at the gas stations, I haven't even had a drop of liquid in over a day, we're having to use the bathroom in the yard and cover it with dirt. We've got 10 tree UPROOTED in the yard alone, they're telling us it might be 2 weeks before we get power back. No traffic lights, power lines snapped and down in the road. Where's the National guard when you need them? They send them to these 3rd world countries when they need help but when the us citizens need help they say, you're on your own. Makes you real proud to be an 'American'
Get ahold of your governor. He can deploy the National Guard 😮
Wow Places in Georgia & North Carolina got hit worse then Florida 😮
I am so sorry for your loss and fear. 😢😢😢❤

Im not being salty but exactly how do we prepare for this? We can't stop massive rain, landslides, extreme wind, ppl went shopping & bought supplies, i was out there, i seen the crowds!! This is the Katrina of the mountains. We need your prayers not judgment, thank you!!

I'm in Brevard, NC. It's a wild ride
We were hit pretty hard in Cincinnati on Friday from this and I’m from Illinois where we had derechos move through and those were rare but this ? I have never lived through something like this and never thought a storm Iike this would come this far inland . It’s unbelievable and tragic . We had about 125k people in the dark on Friday here and the number is slowing going down . I feel so bad for everyone affected by this .
I pray for my family safety and her neighbors and friends and their business to protect them from the waters..... Wendy ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think a lot of people were just looking at this as "just a storm" and not a hurricane. Because from the projections, how could you say you didnt think it would be so bad?
PRAYERS FOR EVERYONE!
“We’re just trying to keep everybody alive.” No homes, no water, but got the case of PBR in the back seat. Good to see priorities are in place during a devastation. 😂
Tennessee is the Volunteer state! You can be sure that citizens of this state will come to the aid of those in North Carolina and wherever else they are needed!
Its not Like a Bomb went off or war zone . , its like a hurricane happened! Dont compare it to war
At the end of the day, it's total destruction, so what's the difference?
What?
Did you expect??? This nation doesn't fear god
Oh my goodness, I had no idea it was this bad anywhere.
Crazy to think all of that happened in Atlanta just 3 hours away from my house
Feel in the near future the Southern states will not be safe to live in, maybe not worth moving away from snow
