If you guys decide to do a podcast talking about Starfield, I’d watch and rewatch it like I did with the Elder Scrolls Podcast 👀 Would also love a Fallout one too! You guys are great! I look forward to all of the upcoming videos and builds!
I’m playing as a UC Marine (Soldier background) who experienced the xenowarfare projects that the UC made and defected. He chose to hide away and pick up mining contracts. After the events at the beginning of the game he is given the frontier and decides it is the perfect opportunity to make a name for himself as a pirate. His natural leadership instill fear in his enemies and inspires his crew who consider him a bit of a taskmaster. He specifically targets UC trade vessels to try to do as much damage to the UC economy as possible. Although he holds resentment toward the UC he can’t hide that he is a citizen and still has parents who don’t know what he has become.
It's great to see you guys with some new content to explore. Can't wait for your builds and lore delving abilities to bring those concepts that really give your characters life! Awesome stuff guys! ❤
Man I've been watching you for years now, and its really nice to see you guys sound passionate about this stuff again. I can imagine the burnout with Skyrim. Can't wait for your builds!
Already planning on having the Dream Home trait be the whole reason behind my character's backstory. He's in debt, and resorts to stealing to make ends meet. Neon will be my main haunt.
Yeah it’s not what they say it is. It’s a good game so far but it’s not great. I think we need to be real. And obviously it being a great game and people thinking it is will benefit their channel. It is an old gen game very much. Again it’s a good game and I’m not shitting on it I’m just saying we need to be real with what we’re saying about this game
I was in act3 of bg3 and I have suspended play and excused myself from my multiplayer group because of starfield… needless to say my companions in bg3 are quite pissed😂😂😂. Having been a fan of all things Skyrim and fallout, I expect that this game will only get better once the modding community starts pumping it with mods just like they did w fallout and Skyrim🙂
i was looking at the guy you were building and the first person that came to mind was, "damn, that guy looks like Kingpin from Marvel." i laughed when i saw you named him Wilson Fisk . Keep up the great work. Long live the Great Serpent.
I went industrialist with the Wanted trait. My roleplay was that my character worked for a large corp but crossed the wrong person trying to climb the ranks, and as a result had a bounty put on his head and forced him to lie low, which is why he decided to go be a miner for Argos Edit: I was impressed by the weapon and ammo detail with the old Earth weapons. They got the ammo correct for the VSS (Old Earth Hunting rifle) which alone amazed me. Although I do have to say, as rare as that gun is today, it should surely be even rarer in the future (unless they were produced much more in the Starfield universe than they were in our own)
I'm in my 1st playthrough and chose the Long Hauler as I am a truck driver. Something I could relate to. I tend to be a little shady but generally good at the core.
Cannot wait for the builds man. Especially the neon street rat ones. Since I started with that myself would be awesome to have some neon space scoundrel type of build
Love this guide, thanks! I'm going to role play as Amos Burton from the Expanse. One of the presets looks a LOT like him. Going to go Long Hauler with Neon Street Rat, Wanted, and Terra Firma. There really are a TON of ways to role play this game.
I'm so excited for the Character Builds, I had so much fun using all your Skyrim builds back in the day can't wait for the same thing with Starfield, also excited to finally play it in a couple days
I chose Bounter hunter background. And for traits, I chose Wanted and Hero Worshipped. Only those 2. I didnt think BGS would allow me to choose only 2 but they did. What I Love is the combo of the background and traits allows me to play a character who has no previous allegiances ,and is unpredictable as she is both a criminal and a criminal seeker. I'm at level 50 with 7d18hrs and man I can say this game truly allows for role playing across all the 'solar' systems. Taking my sweet sweet time before NG+. My final comment: I AM EXCITED FOR MODS TO COME TO XBOX🎉🎉🎉 Thanks Fudgemuppet for allowing us to learn role playing from your Skyrim vids, and now we apply those tips in starfield😊
I started as Bounty Hunter, got Athletics and Surveying early and get the survey data for all the planets I visit. This leads to a lot of experience for both those skills. Then I add in stealth, security and persuasion. Focusing on Physical skills and Tech skills as a bounty hunter lets you get more advanced skills really early in the game. I could see myself going into early starship engineering to get boost assault and mix that with martial arts and dueling. Once I get survey 4 im going to get the weapon and armor engineering and chemistry. I'm glad theres no level cap! It makes sense to go for skills that help you do what you're actually doing at the time.
I just wanted to say thank you guys i started watching for the fallout builds many moons ago but stayed for everything else. So happy to see this community giving this game the spotlight it deserves sure its not perfect but i think what it does do it does amazingly.
I actually played through without the boost pack and quite enjoyed it. There was something fun about having to think about the route you’d need to take.
Thank you for telling me about surface levels of the beliefs of the religous groups. There should be at least a paragraph about their beliefs in character creation.
I'm playing with wanted, alien dna and neon street rat. Backstory is that she grew up on neon and when she was young was approached by shady people and offered a lot of money to participate in a scientific experiment. She said yes as she was poor, young and desperate. The experiment merged her DNA with xeno DNA giving her heightened physical capabilities. However she was now seen as property of this shady organisation. Eventually she used her new strength to escape and is now on the run from her possessive overlords laying low as a miner, until the events of the game cause her to risk being found in order to uncover a mystery. This has been really cool, it worked really well when talking to a bounty hunter in one of the cities. Still waiting to be ambushed by bounty hunters looking for me though.
A note for Kid Stuff, if you continue to visit your parents they will eventually reach a point where they start vacationing around the galaxy. You can see them from time to time in major settlements just on vacation. But I believe you need to get to a specific point with your fathers dialogue though I cant 100% confirm this. I just noticed after he "retired" they were roaming around more.
I love the idea of playing a space pirate/smuggler who extorts and captures ships to scavenge and sell for profit. He wields a shotgun and is good at intimidating or manipulating his victims. He eventually just establishes a whole industry built around stolen goods, and establishes trade routes among his outposts. Seems like such a cool game and I’ll have to get it someday when I get the next gen console.
funnily enough, 'pure craftsman' is going to be my first build. i figure, i don't really know what i want to do, so i'll do a little bit of everything - buffs, support, high end gear, etc. there's of course some dipping into other stuff, i've got some tech and social too, but i've got about 45 levels in science - some role playing flavor, too, as i'm starting with the professor, and i'm sort of eager to research, basically anything that strikes my fancy. figure master weaponry with the potential of exiotic mods later down the line, might help compensate for not getting like 30% damage with ballistics and pistols.
I've watched numerous starter guides and you're the first to stress the role-playing aspects of the game. Thank you! It's completely changed my approach to building a character.
I was up way too late jotting down a plan on a piece of paper after watching your last video. I think I’m going to make a bounty Hunter that takes a lot of physical skills and just melee weapons and explosives from Combat. But also tacking on persuasion early. Then eventually filling out the stuff for better ships and colonies if I get that far.
This sounds great. I hope they have background and traits in ES6. Though I don't think they put something like the patron god (i forgot the name of the mod) it help add better modes relating to it too
Ya I see people saying to pick bounty hunter cuz of it’s starting skills. That’s totally fair but I just feel like it totally kills the entire purpose of picking a background… it’s gotta be based on your RP.
Definitely picked introvert for my first playthrough. I’m not the biggest fan of companions in my first go around. However I do see myself having many playthroughs now
I've been in love with the game, i've had no problems of any kind, not even strange AI behaviors. Performance has been insanely good at Medium settings, i'm leaving it at medium and not going higher because I find the game looks great enough that I have no need to increase it. Very happy.
I find it interesting my wanted trait has some up a lot, but I have yet to see my Diplomat background come up. hell, there was a quest where they explicitly wanted a negotiator, but I couldn't mention I had diplomatic background, but I COULD tell the bandit I was wanted to add a bit of relatability, which I found odd.
I bought an x box saturday just for this game and i have been playing it since then. I have probably already sunk 30 hours into it, it is so much fun. My first build i decided to go with a female combat medic with the following traits: alien DNA, extrovert, and empath. Basically my character is very caring and thoughtful, so shes always willing to do a good deed for another person. She is willing to break the law if it means doing good for other people, but generally speaking she is law abiding. She is vey caring and will usually show consideration to most people regardless of their circumstances.Pirates are a notable exception for this however. The only thing she will do for pirates is give them a bullet, the reason for that is in her backstory. My backstory for her is that she became a combat medic because her cousin died in her arms after a pirate raid hit the small research outpost she grew up in. Her parents are scientists who experimented on her (hence the alien dna trait), and they also taught her a lot about science. She loves and cares about her parents, but she wasnt really close with them, the only one she was really close with in her family was her cousin. After the death she joins up with a trader group and starts to learn from the ships doctor. She has been drifting from job to job since then trying all she can to learn about medicine. Her latest job is with her working as a miner and thats where the game begins. I have to admit i am kind of surprised by how much starfield facilitates roleplay. My combat medic job and medicine skill have come up a lot more than i expected in ramdom dialog. I really do hope this kind of system becomes a staple in future bethesda games, something like this could easily be implemented in ES6. For my next build after this i havent yet decided which between these three: Male Space Scoundrel Neon street rat Wanted. Female Cyberneticist Spaced Enlightned Male xenobiolgist Freestar Terrafirmer Anybody have their own builds they wanna share?
Honestly I love how leveling works in Star field it's the best of fallout and Skyrim I hated leveling in Skyrim there were never enough perk points and crafting skills were a pain to level but also some of the most important skills I hope Bethesda continues with this type of leveling system in the future Because I love the concept of leveling by doing but hated its execution for the longest time
I think I will go heavy on Physical skills, playing as some sort of Space-Bud Spencer, beating bad guys up with my fists in a hopefully somewhat comedic way. 😂 Not really a background there with the according skills, but maybe Soldier fits best, as there is one physical skill available, as well as the important boost-packing. Ballistic weapons are also always nice to have, I reckon, whenever melee is a bad option. 🤔 What's with the "FILE NOT FOUND" background? Is it like in Morrowind or Oblivion, where you can pick your own starting skills? Or are the three skills seen there also the ones you get? It would be kind of weird if it was the latter, as this feels like the option you'd pick if your RP wish wasn't amongst the available options, allowing you create your own background, in exchange for not having any additional dialogue options. But if you just get these three random skills... why is it even kept so ambiguous? 🤔
Regarding Combat style: I am using a jedi style, I am using the Katana(name starts with a K) with level 4 deuling which allows me to do extra damage and heal a little with every kill. Inorder to do Jedi Mind tricks i have maxed out the instigation ,intimidation and manipulation skill and wearing a neuroamp , inorder to convince enemies to fight one another or flee. Spoilers: Using starborn powers 'reactive shield' to allow me to get up close and personal to my enemy without taking too much damage, along with grav dash and the force push ability.
Seriously, is this guy getting paid by Bethesda? Melee is absolute jenk dogshit compared most modern games...I'm 20+ hours in and melee combat has made me question what the hell I'm doing with my life the whole time my knife swings through air yet somehow one shots baddies into bad ragdoll physics...🤔
I’m running a cutthroat scientist with an Industrialist background. Grew up in Neon to low level doc workers Mostly got by stealing research and intel for rival corporations, sabotaging or eliminating competition. Started his own salvage/logistics company that went belly up after an impressive financial year due to power struggles from leadership. We have accepted this mining contract with hopes of scraping by until he can get back into the gritty fold of the tech industry. Stealth, Research, Persuasion, and security specialist
I’ve seen recommendations to take extrovert because you’ll likely always have a companion. Then I started to play and they’re literally all worse than Lydia. Like yes, jump in front of my gun as I’m firing, that makes sense. Jump in front of my mining laser. Push me into enemy fire. Fantastic. Definitely a Bethesda experience lol (though at least in Skyrim you can stealth to some degree with a companion, absolutely impossible in Starfield)
Im going for my Stealth character first as I always do in Bethesda games like Oblivion, Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Fallout 4. I always name him Shadow! Ill maybe make him a stealth murdering space pirate that sells contraband, or a good guy lol not sure yet.
20:11 that gun is sexy asf I can’t wait to play. I only thought there was gonna be laser guns. But this got me excited same with that dope ass shotgun you had . Love the designs to the guns so far
I started my build with a ronin backstory neon street kid introvert and wanted. my story was I grew up on the streets on neon and the corps were starting to dominate the market my parents got into debt with one of them and couldn't pay one night they grabbed me and tried to board a ship to leave neon behind but were stopped by corpo ops and gunned down I was left homeless on the streets and wanted revenge. one night I saw one of the corpo ops leaving a bar drunk and I lured him into an ally and slit his throat. it wasn't over there though some neon guards saw this and because they were in the corpos pockets they took me to them but the Ceo saw power and ambition in me and trained me into a ronin op for them I was now a young adult and had carried out countless missions gained there trust and when the time was right I attacked I took down all the leaders of that corp but wasn't left unscathed a fire had broken out from all the explosions and gun fire that I was left with severe burns on my face. I fled neon and was wanted by remnants of the past mega corp I fled to a backwater mining outpost and tried to start a new life leaving all that behind me, but fate decided otherwise will I go back to my corpo past of power and greed or move on to something bigger?
At least one of my playthroughs the character will be wearing the Space Trucker Flannel with the brown jacket and flying a bright red ship called the Raspberry. LONESTAR!!!!!!!
i think they did great on making a middle ground for fo4 and skyrim leveling, which is good - not great, because it's more like fo4's, where loot matters more than the skills, but lovely that it's more than basically 'level 1 of 4 gun based perks, gun nut, armorer' every run - well, every non-melee run. the bad part is, while role playing build wise it's more interesting, it really feels like they dropped the ball, in most other things - the FO4 'illusion of choice' issue is back in force, and just, not enough potential skill check ish stuff.
If they would have added their version of power armor as well as some sort of alien beast race, like how Skyrim had werewolves and vampires. The game would be pretty much perfect for me. That would make role playing so much better.

That was some of my favorite content honestly
They should bring Drew in for it too
The obligatory fallout mention that series nobody cares about anymore to a little after elder scrolls 6
@@Gotcha4yeah, to be honest if fudgemuppet did make a return to fallout content I’d hope it would be their Redemption series.

I’m going to role play a Space Trucker. Make my spaceship look like a semi truck. I got a long way to go and short time to get there.
Already planning on having the Dream Home trait be the whole reason behind my character's backstory. He's in debt, and resorts to stealing to make ends meet.
Neon will be my main haunt.
Cool idea
While I personally am not jumping in to starfield right away I hope EVERYONE is enjoying it to their hearts desire

No way! Already dropped a build guide!? That's what's up
I went industrialist with the Wanted trait. My roleplay was that my character worked for a large corp but crossed the wrong person trying to climb the ranks, and as a result had a bounty put on his head and forced him to lie low, which is why he decided to go be a miner for Argos
Edit: I was impressed by the weapon and ammo detail with the old Earth weapons.

Such an amazing show

Taskmaster is avery underrated pick. Money is no issue and getting a full repair randomly is so worth it.
Ya I see people saying to pick bounty hunter cuz of it’s starting skills. That’s totally fair but I just feel like it totally kills the entire purpose of picking a background… it’s gotta be based on your RP.

I would agree with the point of dont worry the skills you start with. As long as you would want thoes skills with in the first 30ish leavels or so.
I find it interesting my wanted trait has some up a lot, but I have yet to see my Diplomat background come up.

Hey great video! I need moooooore. Thank you. I wish all of you a great day in space ❤
For my next build after this i havent yet decided which between these three:
Male Space Scoundrel
Neon street rat
Wanted.
Female Cyberneticist
Spaced
Enlightned
Male xenobiolgist
Freestar
Terrafirmer
Anybody have their own builds they wanna share?
I really hope you do a Malcolm Reynolds build at some point. I bet you could even build the Serenity.
I chose wanted because the idea of the game randomly sending me free loot on enemies is not a bad idea
Honestly I love how leveling works in Star field it's the best of fallout and Skyrim
I hated leveling in Skyrim there were never enough perk points and crafting skills were a pain to level but also some of the most important skills
I hope Bethesda continues with this type of leveling system in the future
Because I love the concept of leveling by doing but hated its execution for the longest time
I love it when you guys say anything, but i expecially love it when you say heaps 😅
Boba Fett build sounds sick!

Using starborn powers 'reactive shield' to allow me to get up close and personal to my enemy without taking too much damage, along with grav dash and the force push ability.
I'm so going to do a Firefly build/playthrough :D
12:30 So basically the challange only starts, after you unlock tier 1 of a skill. Makes sense
Went Ronnin with alien DNA, wanted and the terra firma.
Can't wait to play this, 12h 40mins from now.
Great video great vibes 🎉🎉
“Melee is really fun”
As he goes in circles swinging a knife
Seriously, is this guy getting paid by Bethesda? Melee is absolute jenk dogshit compared most modern games...I'm 20+ hours in and melee combat has made me question what the hell I'm doing with my life the whole time my knife swings through air yet somehow one shots baddies into bad ragdoll physics...🤔
22:15 space stealth archery
I’m running a cutthroat scientist with an Industrialist background. Grew up in Neon to low level doc workers
Mostly got by stealing research and intel for rival corporations, sabotaging or eliminating competition.
Started his own salvage/logistics company that went belly up after an impressive financial year due to power struggles from leadership.
We have accepted this mining contract with hopes of scraping by until he can get back into the gritty fold of the tech industry.
Stealth, Research, Persuasion, and security specialist
Went with Neon City Street Rat, Extrovert, and the Bounty one because it fit with his backstory of the company that went wrong.
This has me thinking about a couple build ideas. One is an interstellar farmer and the other is a mining magnate.
I love your builds but man i can't wait for your lore video!
Cyberneticist sounds super Adeptus Mechanicus and I cannot wait to fly around larping as some cybernetic priest
I’m probably gonna pick the wanted trait because it would be fun if the loot came to you occasionally
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where did you find the sword? I've been looking all over for it!
Im going for my Stealth character first as I always do in Bethesda games like Oblivion, Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Fallout 4. I always name him Shadow! Ill maybe make him a stealth murdering space pirate that sells contraband, or a good guy lol not sure yet.
Man y'all make melee look powerful. All one hit kills.
Great character name!
I can’t wait for it to come to games pass i chose to focus on the Spider-Man 2 ps5 wish I could get my hands on it already it looks like a blast
20:11 that gun is sexy asf I can’t wait to play. I only thought there was gonna be laser guns. But this got me excited same with that dope ass shotgun you had
. Love the designs to the guns so far
Ive been running yalks gunslinger build with a twist on settlement building under freestar Rangers Flag
I fled neon and was wanted by remnants of the past mega corp I fled to a backwater mining outpost and tried to start a new life leaving all that behind me, but fate decided otherwise will I go back to my corpo past of power and greed or move on to something bigger?
if anyone wants to use this and add onto it feel free I'd love to see it expanded
Very cool!
At least one of my playthroughs the character will be wearing the Space Trucker Flannel with the brown jacket and flying a bright red ship called the Raspberry. LONESTAR!!!!!!!
Progressing in Fitness is easier while picking up every item ya find, as encumbrance depletes oxygen rapidly.
Hey guys I’m excited to play a knock-off Jedi with the Diplomat background and hopefully a small fighter type of ship.
i think they did great on making a middle ground for fo4 and skyrim leveling, which is good - not great, because it's more like fo4's, where loot matters more than the skills, but lovely that it's more than basically 'level 1 of 4 gun based perks, gun nut, armorer' every run - well, every non-melee run.
the bad part is, while role playing build wise it's more interesting, it really feels like they dropped the ball, in most other things - the FO4 'illusion of choice' issue is back in force, and just, not enough potential skill check ish stuff.
I can only assume that yall will be making charcter vids here soon. Have any build recommendations to starting out as a space pirate?
Can’t wait for that One man army, heavy weapons build.
Can’t wait for the role play characters to get som ideas from for my own
If they would have added their version of power armor as well as some sort of alien beast race, like how Skyrim had werewolves and vampires. The game would be pretty much perfect for me. That would make role playing so much better.
First video I watched when game launched! ...And I've already seen it, lol.
