      He mimicked the behaviour he saw on his brother so he could convince us he also had mental issues but he couldn´t fool the experts and the judge. Justice was served today. His eyes show what he is.

      Head shot up like a bottle rocket. I don’t think he truly expected to face any real consequences.. I think he thought he’d say 30 years with possibly of getting out, then he heard the 100 and his face showed emotion for the first and only time during this case. 😢 rip Timothy ❤

      His jail calls he was making arrangements on where he was going to live when he got out. His calls made me sick hearing him claim he wasn't use to such harsh conditions and people sending him money. He sounded EXACTLY like mom

      Exactly! He wants fairness and compassion? The day before Tim unalived, he was so weak that he was unresponsive, couldn't walk or talk. This didn't stop Paul from physically dragging Tim and putting him in a 7 hour ice bath, repeatedly dumping cold water on him during those 7 hours, teasing him with a pizza roll, and telling his mother that he's fine... he's just pulling his usual crap. Good Riddance is right. He's not one step away from bring a psycho,he's already there.

      This Judge could be the best I’ve seen. His soft spoken demeanor doesn’t reveal he’s a pushover and he can’t be fooled. This case haunts me and will always be. That poor child had to die to escape another day of torture.

      Right! Couldn't believe so many felt sorry for him. She was hardly home he didn't have to do any of those things to poor Timothy! Yet HE did! Jordan Turpin ran from her home to save her siblings' lives while they were chained to beds. N ppl felt sorry for this monster who had freedom and a job?! He could have gotten his brother help at any time! Yet he did the unthinkable to his own brother. Hope Paul and Shanda both rot away!!!!!

    Listening to his apology and plea to the judge at the beginning made me sick! Then listening to his sentence reminded me that there truly is Justice in this country! The look on his face when the judge said 30 years was priceless!

    I love this judge, no nonsense. Paul only testified to get a lesser sentence. Paul is as evil as his mother is. This judge did his due diligence and called a spade a spade, Paul helped abuse Timothy because he wanted to. Just like mom, he got caught. Enjoy jail, hope you never breath free air again.

      Yes and the part that hurt my heart and soul really bad was when he was talking to his evil monster mother that Timothy was "faking" having seizures again, that he was flopping around like a fish. I can't imagine hot sauce that with one teeny drop feels like you swallowed a hot coal briquette wouldn't cause someone to have seizures. It made me sick when that witch told the jurors that Timothy LOVED hot sauce.

    I’m turning 30 this week and getting there has been the longest and most drawn out experience of my life lol I cannot imagine doing it all over again from a jail cell.

    This case will forever bother me in life. It was so tragic, it's rare for something like this to trouble me as much personally, this one did. I say a prayer for this poor child when I think about him. It bothered me too much. I've never seen worse treatment of another human being in my lifetime.

      @kevmachine1399 I absolutely agree with you. What's worse is he worked at Applebee's as a dishwasher and he couldn't of brought home any food for the poor kid.. He nobody was doing the whole time i'm glad that the judge realized that. Maybe they'll provide some extra hot sauce for his 3 hots and a cot stay. His mother and him are one and the same. If he wasn't evil, he would have fought against her and helped them instead it helping her and still this awful punishment to the poor child. This case upset me so badly.
      I just can't imagine what poor Timothy's last days were make it his whole life. The judge's right how you could do that to another human being is beyond comprehension.

    I'm sad and a bit embarrassed to admit that Mr. Paul Ferguson fooled me while testifying in his mother's trial. Upon further research into the court docs and statements from family members with more intimate knowledge of his character, my mind began to change. It's probably a good thing Paul "took a plea deal" and that this incredibly insightful judge saw through him.. because if he'd have taken this to trial, the jury may have been fooled as I was.

She wasn't supposed to have Timothy and Paul only moved in with her when he was 18. Her ex had the kids and they also spent time in foster care.

      ​He wasn't raised by his mom. She lost custody. The father raised them. The father sent Timothy and Paul to their mother who wasn't allowed to have them because he couldn't handle them anymore. He SA Timothy when he was little. They lived with their mom for 6 month's. The father should be charged for giving the boy's to the crazy mother. She was supposed to have supervised visits only. Both parent's failed them. More the mother. He deserves jail. He could have gotten help.

      I considered that he could have had some issues and by no means did he have a wonderful upbringing but after hearing his full testimony against his mother I felt he was just as culpable and absolutely responsible for what happened to Timothy. He absolutely deserves the sentence he got. He deserves worse but that is frowned up by some. Thank god for this judge for being so thorough and diligent with the information he had. Someone finally stood up for Timothy.

      Margaret, the judge told him at shandas trial that he made no promises for his testimony. He was spared first degree murder charge, which is automatic life sentence. The deal was he would'nt be charged with murder, and they stuck to that

      He didn't even expect the 30. In his jail calls he talks about IF he goes to prison for awhile and how he may "not even see the inside of a prison". This has to be one of the most satisfying sentencings ive ever seen.

    Being abused is not an excuse to later abuse! My mother tormented her children and took joy in it. Spat in our faces, awful beating and humiliating acts brought her happiness. I could never, ever, intentionally hurt a child- or anyone for that matter. He chose a different route. I feel bad for his trauma but am horrified over his lack of shame concerning his choices and reaction to his own trauma. Lock him up.

      You guys need an inquiry into sentencing as it is not in line with public expectations. Criminals are given too many chances in the UK by a legal system. It’s depressing to read how an abusive person gets out on bail or early release yet again and goes onto to harm someone else. Property crimes are treated more harshly than crimes against people.

    Absolutely heartbreaking no one spoke on Timothy's behalf prior to sentencing. Thankfully this judge was his voice. I cannot fathom the abuse/torture this beautiful boy endured! I remember the photo of Timothy this judge displayed at Shanda's sentencing. He said that's the way he chose to remember Timothy instead of like a holocaust victim which is what he looked like six months after his stepfather's stroke. That is how I chose to remember Timothy as well. This judge is amazing!

    I watched this entire story/trial. This is the worst case of torture, starvation and murder i have ever seen. Timothy's death was so cruel and so sadistic 😔 He could have, at any time, called the police but he was his mothers son. He enjoyed torturing his brother, as he had torturing animals. He should never be released. Thank you judge.
