I used that seal all on a plastic gas tank for a boat once, three years 3 gallon tank still holding. I forgot about it. I tried epoxy and silicone they leaked but the seal all worked👍
Scott, me and guy I work with have 2 terms when we lose things, CRS is 1 and the other is we go into “auto pilot.” lol. It happens to us all and if anyone says it does not I call BS.😂 Great video and I will have to give the Seal All a shot. Stay safe and warm. See you on the next 1. Later 👍🏻👍🏻
Interesting repair, haven't seen Seal All here in the UK.. I've repaired similar damage to fuel and oil tanks with the old Super glue and Bicarbonate of soda trick.. Great video as usual..
Goooood Morning Brother 😳😳😳 Sloppy Runner 😐 Tough Service Order Too Go By Very Little To No Info or Description as Too The Saws Issue 😩😩😩 Nice Tank Repair Scott.
Robert Pirsig wrote a book called "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" in 1970 I believe. Its a very interesting read on life ,philosophy and mechanical maintenance. Pirsig decried how badly most of society back then had fallen from comprehension of mechanical things and the lack of respect or understanding for them and those who maintain them . Fast forward to 2024 and we have seem to have gotten exponentially worse.
Thanks for the video Scott. Depending on the type, epoxy can soften when exposed to heat, so maybe not a better solution than what you employed? As others have said, JB may hold too. A cracked case on a high use saw is on borrowed time anyway most times unless welded up? Prob uneconomical to fix then😢.
First I recall of the sealer/glue was GoodYear Weld-Bond which we called Old Yeller. I now have tube of same thing called Honda Bond and have seen Yamma Bond too, It is pretty good, but on metal cracks I prefer JB Weld. I am kinda sloppy, maybe it would help me...
Nice repair............ Let us know if that crack starts leaking again. I'm curious because I'm a fan of JBW but I like your reasoning re the hardness. Also, were there any computer codes on this saw?
Poulan bar oil from Menards last year was purple. It was good oil at a good price. I see Menards has it again. Lowe’s has a battery Kobalt screwdriver on sale for about 20 bucks. Only 13 inch pounds but so far I think it’s a good deal. J B weld works good on aluminum if you can clean the oil off. Nice video
I wish I had a saw mechanic like you, practical and industrious. If you ever want to relocate to Australia let me know 😅👍
Thanks for the offer!
A great way to start the morning!
Thank you, Scott!
Thanks for tuning in and have a great day!
“Runs sloppy “😂 that’s a new one.
Ya can't make this stuff up.
Seal all product works great. I’ve got dad’s antique push mower from the 60’s. Sealed the gas tank perfectly.
Yes I've had good luck with it too.
Excellent

Thats been my experience as well.
Who makes the seal all ???

Now I know what runs sloppy means. I've used seal all worked good for me. Great videos.
Great video as usual. Bought your carburetor stand. Should have had it 40+ years ago when I started at the Stihl shop! Highly recommend it!!
Thanks for supporting the channel!
The only purple oil I remember was Yamalube 2 cycle oil in the 80’s.
People in these comments are telling me that Poulan offers purple oil
Yes the case I have is purple and it’s ✅
Good stuff from The Greasy Shop Rag!! I need to get ahold of some Seal All now. Thanks for your always helpful tips big guy!
Great way to start an early wedsday morning, thumbs up great video
Thanks for watching!

Poulan and Mystic are purple I think.
Thanks. I don't think anyone suggested Mystic.
@@TheGreasyShopRagthey have a purple grease also
@@philliphall5198 Thanks
Bless NICE 👍 repair. Thanks 😊
Have a great day!
Poulan has purple oil
I didn't know that.
Menards
Yep that’s correct ✅
The greasy shop rag got greasier! The saw is working in a war zone? Dropped hard.
Ya I'm guessing it was dropped but don't know for sure.
Great fix, Scott. That sure was a nasty crack my friend.
Yes it was a mess. Thanks for watching!

What i have done in the past is grind a v on the crack a bit and then use JB weld, works great. Nice explanation. I will try the seal all sometime.
Thats my next option if it comes back.
@@TheGreasyShopRag It probably won't come back as next he will trash it.
@@wheellifecycling Maybe but who knows?

The front counter really should be asking more questions but then maybe it wouldn't be so interesting.
I think those extra screws were to the original broken recoil innards.
Yep, you're right!

I read the back way back in the day. Kinda forgot what was in it but maybe should pick it back up.

I'm hoping it doesn't come back but I see this customer enough that i'll find out if it held.
Great video Scott thanks for sharing it was very helpful and I know how to fix a leaky case and do it right
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video

I think Poulan oil can be purple? Seal all has worked for me on some repairs for sure!
I hope it works in this case.

If it comes back and the crack isn't any bigger I'll try the epoxy method.
Nice repair............ Let us know if that crack starts leaking again. I'm curious because I'm a fan of JBW but I like your reasoning re the hardness. Also, were there any computer codes on this saw?
No codes. The saw ran fine and just had the leak.
Royal purple?
The name would suggest that but I didn't see a bar oil offering on their web site.
@TheGreasyShopRag i was just guessing. Didn't go that far into the rabbit hole
My kind of DIY fix but JB Weld. Table slam at the end was not up to your normal standards (understandable). Laaaaaaater
Well we'll see if it comes back or not.

That screwdriver would probably be fine as long as it "holds" when turning manually to apply final torque.
Yup, poulan , won't buy that Shit anymore!!!
Stuff happens.
