I just made the tuna salad, but didn't bother with marinating because I wanted it NOW! I crumbled the tempeh, added vegan mayo, mustard, lemon juice, and crumbled some nori seaweed (actually put it in the Vitamix with some sunflower seeds - the seeds kept the nori weighted down under the blades), and mixed it all together! Yum!
Hi, I just stumbled across your video while searching for a quick way to make Tempeh. I just got back into weight lifting and now have the need to get a good deal of protein in my body (.7 grams of protein per pound of body weight). It's a real pain and not that easy to find quick great tasting sources of protein when you are mostly Vegan (yeah, I know Vegans hate that phrase). It's basically beans as my main protein source in addition to vegan protein powders. That being said, I want to find more quick recipes for Tempeh and Tofu - no more than 15 minutes total. It's basically a step higher than just opening a can of garbanzo beans and adding some celery onions and mayo. Thanks for your great vids!
Caitlin, i made the tempeh pot roast for my vegan husband and he loved it! He said it's so filling in a good way and it's nice to have something different from tofu.
I think I want to try the tuna salad first. I’ve just only now turned to a plant 🌱 based /vegan diet, and I’m 47 yrs. old. I’m really enjoying your videos and I can’t wait to try out your recipes. You make them look great and fairly easy to make by the looks of it. I love your sense of humour too! Keep those videos coming. 😁
I love tempe very much, turmeric fried tempe(tempe goreng kunyit) never dissapoint me EVERRR!!! 😌😌I EAT IT JUST LIKE A CHIP.... HUARRGGGHHHH, very delicious 😋😋
Tempeh so good! Used to have it as a special at a bistro i worked at. Steamed, seared, and served with pickled blueberry bbq sauce and orzo salad! Pro tip: steam until heated through before cooking to tame the cultured taste.
As an experiment I made a pumpkin curry with tempeh in my instant pot, and cooked it for 10 minutes on high pressure, and then let it go down naturally. It was a texture I've never had in tempeh.
I wasn’t sure I would enjoy this upload as much as others, but now I’m really inspired to try some tempeh recipes! The tempeh roast looks perfect for this time of year, but those bbq tempeh tacos are calling my name!
I am trying this recipe for Monday. It's my first time trying tempeh and I used to love pot roast. So, I am excited 👍🏼 I will come back with my comments afterwards
I couldn't wait and I made it today. The sauce and veggies on the pot roast were amazing. The tempeh was ok but not bad for my first try 👍🏼 I will try to sear it better next time. This will definitely be on the recipe rotation 🤩
Apart from tempeh as a source of protein for vegans, Indonesia also consumes Oncom (read On - Chom). Oncom is an Indonesian food that is especially popular in West Java. These foods are fermented by several types of mold, similar to the processing of tempeh. Research also reveals that in 100 grams of oncom there are nutrients, such as: Water 87.46 percent 13 grams of protein Energy 187 kcal 6 grams of fat 22.6 grams of carbohydrates Calcium 96 mg Phosphorus 115 mg Iron 27 mg Vitamin B1 0.09 mg.
Tempeh Pot Roast?!?!?!?!? Before I switched to plant based, pot roast was one of my favorite things! This recipe looks great and I can't wait to try it!
I love tempeh. I use to avoid the steaming process because I thought it wasn’t necessary..... big mistake. I now steam it 😅. All your recipes look delicious!
I like Tempeh, it's one of the traditional vegan cuisine from Indonesia, and we invented many vegan products too 👍I like your videos much love ❤️ from Indonesia
I think that I would like the BBQ tempeh. I bought some from Trader Joe's and marinated it in Balsamic vinegar, oyster sauce and chopped garlic. Delicious.
Thank you so much. I recently started a plant-based diet and bought tempeh as I heard it was a good source of protein. But the first dish I made it tasted really bad. I was pretty discouraged but now I am excited about making these delicious recipes you have shared. Awesome!
They all look really delish! I just love your recipe ideas and it really helps me stay on track. Thanks for the intro to tempeh, also you're so freaking adorable I love the way you talk 😊.
This was very helpful. I'm knew to tempeh and am excited to try this. I think the first I will try is the "tuna", then the sticky bbq then the pot roast :D
Usually my issue with tempeh is the taste (it's got this kind of bitterness to it, and I guess I'm lazy to marinade them for long lol), but these seem like they'll be flavorful
This was very helpful; thank you! That last recipe looks *DELISH!!* I’m not familiar with tempeh at all, so this was extremely useful. I was disappointed (and even shocked) when I went to the grocery store a few days ago only to find even my vegan friendly foods out of stock! (Btw, you *KNOW* people are panicking from this pandemic if they’re even scooping up vegan meat, milk, and egg alternatives!) I created a post on Nextdoor asking if anyone would like to set up a barter or trade system so everyone has enough food and essentials during our self quarantine because of COVID-19, and someone replied that they had two packages of tempeh they’d like to trade for some of my plant based milk and coffee creamer. Again, I appreciate the recipes, and even more so the links to your website so I can look at the list and quantity of each ingredient. Now I’m off to check out more of your videos. 😊 Stay safe, everyone; and please don’t hoard food and supplies that you know you’ll never use. 🙏
There is good simple n basic way,u can make it crispy or Fry dip it with Stock/Salt.or if you want make it healtier u can Boiled Tempeh with Garlic and put Little bit salt on it
I just made your "easy baked tempeh" recipe for the first time tonight !! what a coincidence haha, i'm still getting used to the taste and i'll make sure to try these recipes, they look so yummy !!
Wow! They all look amazing! I don't know which I want to make first. I normally make tuna salad with chickpeas, so I'm excited to try it with tempeh instead. The grilled BBQ tempeh sounds great too. The pot roast looks so good!!
Oh my goodness I tried the BBQ Tempeh and it was delicious. I put it on some sour dough bread and voilà fantastic. I’m going to try the other 2 recipes this week, I’ll let you know my opinion on them later, but this is definitely one I’m going to make over and over again, so simple and so tasty, thank you for sharing.
you should looking for the recipe by using "tempe" word, its the origin name from indonesia,.. or u cant use spesificly using translate like "resep tempe mendoan".
I can't wait to try these recipes! They look so yummy, it's even gotten my meat-eating family interested in trying them out. I've never eaten tempeh before but so totally intrigued now!
Had some tempeh and thought I'd try the tuna salad recipe. Been a vegan for 33 years and can't remember exactly what tuna salad tastes like but I don't think this does. However, my wife who eats dead animals said she thinks it tastes a little like tuna. Either way it's not bad. Follow up: after sitting in the fridge for about 5 hours I think this now does taste more tuna like, from what I can remember.
I'm not brave enough to try tempeh haha. I tried once and it tasted so bad...but I might give it a try one day, trying to cook it using one of your lovely recipes. :-)
Ooh that tempeh pot roast looks so cozy and hearty!! I made a tempeh spaghetti bolognese the other day which was awesome, but my favorite usage so far is making tempeh bacon crumbles to top vegan mac and cheese :)
All these recipes look delicious 😋 I discovered tempeh just recently and now I make it at least once a week. Can't wait to try your recipes. If I don't have a slow cooker (actually don't even know what that is), can I just use a regular pot?
the best way to cook tempeh is, just slice it, dont do any seasoning (or just dip it in salty water, not too salty for 5 minutes), just fry it, not too dry. and then have it with rice and soy sauce. try it.

You do not ramble. You are very articulate and very helpful. Best recipes ever.

I made a resolution that I am going to make at least one healthy non-meat meal a week and your recipes will help inspire me to reach my goal!
I think I'll start with the sticky tempeh, but that pot roast looks so delicious! I'd love more recipes for tempeh.

I like the "tuna salad" the most because of how versatile it is. I will try that one immediately!
I think that I would like the BBQ tempeh. I bought some from Trader Joe's and marinated it in Balsamic vinegar, oyster sauce and chopped garlic. Delicious.
I usually cook deep fry tempeh, it's simple all you need for seasoning just salt and cumin and you can combine with sauce
These recipes were different and all look delicious! Love how you used tempeh for tuna salad and how you prepared it! Can’t wait to try!!
Thank you so much. I recently started a plant-based diet and bought tempeh as I heard it was a good source of protein. But the first dish I made it tasted really bad. I was pretty discouraged but now I am excited about making these delicious recipes you have shared. Awesome!

That pot roast looks amazing, but so does the tuna tempeh. Not sure which one to try first.

Usually my issue with tempeh is the taste (it's got this kind of bitterness to it, and I guess I'm lazy to marinade them for long lol), but these seem like they'll be flavorful
I just started cooking with Tempeh, it's really great!
I just bought some today and I am learning how to make tempeh so you helped me so much. Thank you!

Definitely making the BBQ tempeh 😍
Had some tempeh and thought I'd try the tuna salad recipe. Been a vegan for 33 years and can't remember exactly what tuna salad tastes like but I don't think this does.
