  • Hi everyone, in this video I put together a custom computer table with an adjustable drafting table section. I made the legs from steel along with a solid walnut 5/4" table top for the computer table section. On the drafting table I used a piece of smoked plexi-glass on top of a walnut veneer particle core piece. I now have everything I need to continue editing videos and drawing up my designs! Only time will tell if this investment pays off, so in the meantime if you do enjoy this video and want to see what we come up with next, be sure to subscribe!

The desk/table-combo you've built here is almost exactly what I'd love to have (maybe even build, if I ever find the time), one day. With a few tweaks for my specific needs, of course.
Out of curiosity, how much would you charge to build another one for commission?

thanks its been pretty useful for all my large guitar drawings to date. To build another i would charge $3200 CAD.

That’s an awesome looking desk! I wonder if a light table could somehow be incorporated into the drafting desk portion for easy tracing. Sleek design!

Thanks! I wish i put it on the underside but the upcoming plan is to incorporate some adjustable lighting in a wall display for an upcoming video. I'm thinking a overgrown root design with the wires hidden inside along the L-section of the wall

That is a beautiful desk. What kind of glue did you use to glue up the walnut?

Would have to make a second frame to ensure the drafting table wouldn't shift out of place, but definitely do-able!
