Great job. The only thing I'd change is I'd add a 1" x 2" piece along the bottom front so it grips the table and stops it from sliding back when you press on it. You can't have a rounded desktop though.
This video makes it seem so simple I want to give it a try now... Lately it's become a bit difficult to find a DIY tutorial that doesn't require an entire workshop full of tools and machinery, so this is appreciated.
I admire that you have not chosen the shortcut by just buying one, but made it yourselve. Also you are very close to 200k subs on youtube, which puts a smile on my face :) . You always provide high quality content for us- thank you! :)
Thank you so much for sharing the idea! I will try to follow because it is much better than just putting books😊 And especially helpful is that you used simple tools! and the effect is super!
your diy videos give me so much joy and they are one at my favorite type of videos you post !! i love art, to make my own art, or build my own stuff (i made a manual standing desk with my friends this summer). you inspire me to create my own things !! i also read your blog articles “art vs entropy” and it is really insightful, i actually made it a shortcut on my phone, with that i can access your writings anytime ! i adore your philosophy behind art and i try to take your “teachings” with me every time i draw something ! thank you mateusz !!
I'm happy videos like these exist Rather than find one, build one that fits your style Wow that super steep mode for the drawing board is going to help promote proper posture
When you could buy end rolls of newsprint, for rough drawing paper, I just used one of the really thick cardboard tube cores, propped the drawing board on that and secured it with two drawing board clips. It's the right angle for me and sits on my drawing table still okay after forty years. Back then, the end roll cost me 50p. A couple of bits of Blu-tak stops it moving. They've practically set like concrete over the years.
Sugoi! I thought about getting a similar kind of board for drawing purpose but you made one which is very simple and practical. I would love to have blueprint of this.
Nicely done. Bought something very similar. I did end up having to make some adjustments to get a shallower angle for doing watercolour. I eventually want to make something a but larger (it’s only 12”x16”).
I was looking at that drawing and thought to myself ''Hmm, that looks similar to that guy's watercolor book, what was his name again...?'' Then I saw the channel name lol
That looks great! Are you planning on using this for your iPad drawings as well or are you keeping it only for other media? Speaking of, would you have a link of where I can buy the small wooden stand you've been using for your iPad? I love the look of it but I've been having trouble finding something similar, haha Keep up the good work! 👍👍👍
For the iPad i'm using an old stand that Kana used before. I built her a nice, taller and more flexible one and got the old one hahah ;) This board is more for drawing and painting. 👍

I would love the blueprints to this! I’m inspired to make one myself!
The end product turned out great, I've been eyeing buying something similar for quite a while but now I might build one
Super nice! I’m in this DIY mode myself lately in my studio, and have been thinking about making something similar.

Nice board, well made. I have a rather similar one, I bought it. In my neck of the woods buying the material to DIY would be more expensive....
beautiful work!
OMG i really need to build one too... my desk is little and I have no more space for a big drawing table
Brilliant

I was wondering if the support for the notebook doesn´t hurt your wrist? Also, does your elbow get sore from keeping it in the air for so long?
i always like you DIY videos (:

Thanks! useful!
Dzieki za super instrukcje!!!!!
Do you have the list of the materials used to make the drafting board
please can you tell me the measurments for everything.
What woods did you use in this video?
Really well done, I was just looking for something similar. What’s the size of the original board? Really nice
It's B3 size 👍
@@mattjabbar Thank you! I'll start making plans then :-P
Brilliaant! Can you give us the blueprint though? Thankyouu🥰
I don't have one ;) I just made it up as I went ;)
building a drawing board, or more exactly, converting a painting board into one.Thank My Friend
Thank you for sharing Mateusz! Other than your board, do you recommend M1 mac for artists?
So far the M1 Mac and iPad are awesome. Especially the Mac is so silent and fast compared to my previous intel laptop 👍
Very Nice hope you get your copy patent rights to that design.
Why does my wrist and fingers start tingling when I have the board upright to paint?like 0:16
did you get the smaller rods and things from daiso? either way, i really want to make my own now too! my drawing posture is downright awful lol..
I bought all the wood and such at my local Konan home improvement shop👍
O, fajne!
Next: Building a DIY art studio
I would love to do that👍
@@mattjabbar looking forward to how you'll document this one!
please make a roomtour
I will 👍
@@mattjabbar thank you
