Hats off to you. There are many men on RUclips doing projects like this in elaborate workshops using thousands of dollars worth of tools. Great design! You’re a real “go getter”
Using your video and sketches, built one of these tables as a Christmas gift for a friend. Turned out real nice; I used 1x3 premium pine boards instead of pallet wood. Thank you for the idea and video.
Yeah! I definitely need one of those but at that time I had no drill either 😵😵😵 thankfully it’s still standing great; and now that I bought one you’ll be seeing better joins in the future 😅
We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0KU3 Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.
This is just what I’ve been looking for, you created a wonderful design. I’m going to make mine out of some recycled wood from old furnature. Your woodworking skills are awesome, I have lots of machines for woodworking but I think I’m going to use only the basic tools as you so elegantly demonstrated in this build.
Heck yeah! It is very impressive that you built a really great piece of furniture without using a carpenter's square or a level. Tip 01: Use a reciprocal saw with a fine tooth metal cutting blade to cut the nails between the board and the pallet beam then you can hammer them out with a punch. Tip 02: Attach a strip of metal to the support arms and a magnet to the table bottom so that the support arms automatically attach when folding for storage. Tip 03: Glue a strip of wood about an inch from the bottom of the table top so your pencil or jigsaw pieces don't slide off. VARIATIONS Dining table: Glue a piece of grade A birch plywood to the top Drawing table: Frame a sheet of 3/8 glass to the top to create a smooth hard working surface. Just keep in mind that glass is heavy and will detract from the portability of the table. Workshop table. Do nothing. It is perfect just the way it is.
Forjust being glued together, that looks super stout. However, you defintiely want to predrill and screw every wood connection for any sort of pheasible structural integrity. For the super wide pieces, you can get a pocket hole screw jig, OR, just drill holes and use wood cut offs as pegs. Will take a lot more time but you will get a lot more longevity and can still be done to what you have right now. Looks great tho
W O W !!! TALK about Talent and expertise. I LOVE the way you showed how you made that drawing board. VERY GOOD!! I'm gonna try to use this as a pattern for one I plan to make.
Do you have the measurements drawn out in a PDF? I love this! I plan & build everything in our family and I'm a mom of 4, our kids are all nearly grown. So not young! It's fantastic to see another woman building great things! You can even frame walls(!) with pallets by the way.
El otro día pusieron un paleto frente a la casa y me dieron muchas ganas de recogerlo pero hay que tener mucho talento para hacer lo que haces...te felicito...seguro inspiras a muchos...
Can you tell me how far from the ends of the legs each of the holes are and which holes go all the way through? The PDF does show these dimensions Thanks going to try to make this for my step-daughter
Absolutely 🤩 the only holes that go all the way through are the ones on the middle of the inner legs, the rest go only half way through so that you can connect the legs together with the poles. Let me know if you need anything else!! Hope your stepdaughter loves it 😁
Nice done. pallet wood is good to use, so many old pallets are thrown away at companies. i also always use old pallets, why buy expensive wood when you can get it for free.
🤣🤣 yes.. that is exactly how I feel when I join wood slabs 🤣🤣 but I don’t have the equipment to make dowels yet 🥲 little by little I’ll add tools to my stash and make better pieces! But all of my projects are highly used and still standing 😎💪🏼
@@modernhomemaker no, i dont mean you must convert fromm tricky to additional tools, i like more tricky exactly! but in my experience, never get precision in jigsaw cuting, besides continue to planning😢. that's why I convert it to jigsaw table..😋
Hi! That's amazing, I really need a table just like this and thanks to your video I'm very optmistic about making it myself. However, the link for the guide is resulting on a page not found :( So I was wondering if you could maybe check the link and send it again here in the coments (if that's not asking for too much hehe). Again, amazing work and video, thank you
Hi Gabriela :) Thank you for letting me know! I already updated a new link for you to access on the description. Apparently instructables website decided to remove my content. But I'll try to make a website soon to make all the patterns and pieces available :) I believe in you!!! Don't get frustrated, the end result will be worth it!!
I like to calculate what I charge using this formula: cost of the materials materials (paid up front) + cost of the hours of work. I didn’t pay anything for the materials, since it came from old pallets, so I’ll do about 8-10 dollars per hour of work and I think it would come out around 200€?
Yes sure! There are many diferencies, for instance, glass drawing tables can be heavier since they tend to have metal structures. Wood table tops on the other hand can be very light (depending on the type of wood) but can be easily scratched and become annoying to draw on... but even most plastics or poliacrylic gets scratched if you are not careful with the exacto knifes and stuff. I think it’s a matter of the type of use, and the space that you have 🥰
