    The Dead played FOTM 253 times and not one time did Garcia get the words down God love em! I'm not one of those who's particularly concerned about lyrics. It's one of his many charms in my opinion. And considering the number of songs not only in the revolving setlists of the Dead but also the Garcia band and Garcia acoustic band, that's A LOT of songs to remember. Most artists have a 15 to 20 song prearranged set that they perform the same way night after night for the entire tour. You were great Garcia. Amazing musician and just as amazing personality. Charming, charisma like no one else, extremely smart, and most of all just a very humble and kind soul. Well done Jerry.

    They sing a little. They play a little. I likes that!

    • @claymationwaves
      @claymationwaves 3 года назад

      yes the fact they could keep their place with the jams and comps and then come back in to the singing so perfectly a small change to a song each night had to be planned and that would be hard work in itself

    I went to ALL of these shows at the Garden. Every night was a ball. Phil’s Bass was Particularly fun to listen to. Jerry was ripping as usual and the whole band’s sound was crisp and energetic…thanks for letting me relive these amazing nights 🙏❤️

    Now we're talking. This show was exceptional. As good or better in fact than the very good but overly hyped shows from the 18th-20th.For instance 1:20:36. Throw it down one time, big man!

    Vinces vibe. was mellower, Bruce, the acoustic piano sounded great ,the acoustic key boards always added, Vince knew, when to pause, to play . I loved the shows now to 95 .

    Poor Vince? I liked what Vince was doing early on. Having Bruce come in didn't do anything to help him, just probably made it more confusing and difficult to get comfortable. The big problem for Vince were the keyboard sounds. It got better at times throughout his stint.

    • @claymationwaves
      @claymationwaves 3 года назад

      the real problem is trying to mix the midi sounds the high and low end are on two different planets while connected to the same instrument

    • @Fyer
      @Fyer 3 года назад

      I think by fire on the mountain, Jerry had enough midi. If mercy’s in business I wish it for Vince.🤫

      @@sprobeck but how would they feed their massive egos, music drug women culture addictions, families, crew, homes, boats,planes,cars,cigarettes,booze,rex,charity obligations,supporting brents family.. you hire a guy LIKE VINCE as a full member because you want dedication and jerry was playing with bruce in side projects jerry garcia band grisman HE WAS NOT STOPPING AND NEVER DID AND NEVER WOULD HAAAAAAAAAAA

    From 1966 to 1978, the Grateful Dad were just practicing for their time with Brent Mydland. The tapestry of sound that he andJerry weaved was beyond compare. No one in the band, especially Jerry... their hearts were not in it. From the first sour note of the beginning of "Feel Like a Stranger" here... uh uh, simply no way I can listen to anything after Brent. When you think of all the amazing Hammond B3/Keyboard players from that period, and they pick these guys? I think this configuration of the band was a complete disservice to the fans and Brent both. Don't fool yourself, this show is a waste of 2 hours that you won't ever get back. Go to Hershey Park '85... The music never stops.
