Why ? Perhaps another "Hampton" outing, ... ?, Bruce Hornsby sitting in ...?, perhaps the commercial CD release ...? ... in any case, the music, energy and smiles are clearly there ! Indeed, a great JGB show.

If this isn't heaven, I don't want to go. I've been to many Jerry, Legion of Mary, and Reconstruction, etc. shows and I have to agree, this is one of my top five shows. Thank you for carrying the torch and having the music available to be able to keep Jerry's torch shining brightly!

I'm 37 and unfortunately too young to see him, but he's still a legend to me and I love his music.
How many JGB shows did Bruce Hornsby play? I gotta look this up. Hornsby sounds so good on the organ! I saw at least one of these JGB shows w Bruce ( pre- Vince and Bruce, which was a bit cluttered to my ears)and a bunch of the Dead shows in 91. Jerry n Bruce had a musical bromance- different than Jerry n Brent obviously(Bruce wasn’t into Papaver somniferum products); it def. elevated things to great heights.
Some people just made Jerry smile more than others. Never felt it was quite the same w Jerry n Vince, but i’m not a hater on anybody that was ever involved with the greatest band ever.
Man, I am so grateful to have been in my late teenage/ early 20s years during the last great peak of the GD/ JGB phenomenon. The 89-91 timeframe contains infinite gems of musical greatness.

this was my favorite tour of any dead like band and Jerry seemed to be singing and playing his absolute heart out. The sound on these is pristine and it's an extra treat to get to check the viddy too. THANKS for pulling this all together--a real treasure!
Bruce brought out the best in Jerry. My favorite era was w/ Bruce. I'd always sit on the Jerry/Bruce side & Jerry seemed to genuinely enjoy having him around & would smile all the time at him, mid-show.
Fall 89 tour is nothing to sneeze at Either. The Big Man (Clarence Clemmons) joined the band halfway through the tour at Great Woods. One of those videos is available on You Tube. September 10th I believe. Cats opener, redickulous. In fact most of the tour is featured in video on You Tube. Not a single off night that tour.

I was at this show and during Dixie there is a pause and just at that moment a huge balloon popped right in front of me as I was about to tap it back up into the air. The sound was so loud that it seemed like Jerry heard it from the stage. I always wondered if anyone else besides my friends witnessed that moment or remembers it. This was my first show even before I saw GD. Extra special show for so many reasons. ✌🏻❤️😃

During the Richmond "Dixie" of 93 when they mention Richmond the crowd just erupted, it was surreal. For that many people to get that reference in that split second and react to it was intense, only seen it a few times. No other show has a reaction to that line like that single Richmond Jerry show. This is a commonly misunderstood song when done by the Band imho, Jerry brings the pathos and just trying to hold your dignity together so much better.
Love it love it love it!!! So much soul and so much fun! This is what happens when folks come together for a night of music! I miss this band sooooo much.

One the best Jerry shows I ever saw. Jerry was on point and happy as he always was when Bruce was on stage with him. It is an honor to have shared such a magical experience with Jerry, Bruce, so many of my friends, and deadheads.

Listened to the first few songs on my way to work. Wow the solo in The Night They Drove ol Dixie Down, loved seeing how much Jerry was into it, shaking his head back and forth, brought tears to my eyes, this song like many he played were so emotional. Thank you god above that I got to see GD and JGB shows. I feel bad for the people who don't get it, what incredible music they are missing out on.
So thankful. Breadbox brings memories. Some people never will never feel like that. It breaks my heart

This was one the best shows from this tour, with that Hampton vibe flowing hard!! 'What a Wonderful World' was amazing, Jerry hit it nicely. The Breadbox and Deal waere so rocking, sounded like a 80'-81' JGB show!

I missed this one but I saw jerry band when rhey came back to Hampton 2 years later in the fall. That show was so overcrowded and it was okay, but to be honest I'm so glad I went to Richmond the night before cuz THAT one was a top five-er. I'll never forget being with Lucy so focused on her, I went up to smoke a cigarette somewhere in the mezzanine just to try and regain some sanity for a moment...and all the sudden i came to and realized that I was surrounded by a bunch of young chicks , I don't even know why they were there , and they were just BITCHING about me smoking, calling me the rudest jerk ever etcetera. I smiled, blue something in their face and walked off I hope they're all getting cheated on by their husbands right now LOL, I'm sure they are

Melvyn Seals and the Jerry Garcia band, Seals' band after the passing of Garcia, is outasite! Seals plays his ass off and the band, the lead guitarist - man, they are too hot to touch. If you're taping they will let you plug in to their soundboard. C'mon how good can it get? Before "the other (lost) ones" found Meyer Seals had it going on. I bet he misses going out to eat with Garcia.

Jerry loved to play all the time, he didn't need the Dead at this point. A few sidemen and it was a go, Ron Tutt, Clarence Clemens, John Kahn, Nicky Hopkins, Bruce Hornsby, ,,,,Didn't have to split the Pot too many ways. Was never an expensive ticket.
Because there was Rat Dog, and Jerry Band and Mickey had his thing etc....... side bands have been part of the dead's universe since almost the beginning. Where have you been?
JGB is a complete different animal and we are lucky to have it, I prefer the JGB to the dead personally
They might as well just mic up a metronome and let it click, Ron Tutt's drumming isn't really any more musical than a metronome click, and then you could save on your salary budget!

Hunter he said he had 3 muses. Said he saw them in lighbody. I thought that’s unheard of stuff most great musicians get one great muse each. I mentioned I thought them must be the fates- haha- like intelligence, beauty and virtue or whoever. Haha. Then I met them myself. One only spoke in mantra. Holy. One only pines/Mourns to be closer to him even when he’s right there. Profound love. And the third was highly observant and respectful. Just very contemplative and then when she spoke she simply apologized for being not exactly perfect and promising to be better and offering compassion and ease. Peace. I thought omg this is crazy! Lol why? because of a glorified soul band being around (same 4/4 beat at the same tempo almost every song, no musical communication, pretty standard harmony arranging, little to no composition, noodling almost all contained in the major scale)?
This is... not a band that would have threatened Phish's rise in any way, because they aren't anywhere near the same genre, and they don't do any of the things that made Phish the hot boundary-pushing phenomenon in the 90s.
Maybe they'd threaten Dave Matthews or something like that.
