Phil's commitment to Jerry is above & beyond unreal...such a bro
This was my first show.. a day before my 17th birthday. I had a great time.
I was there! It was my 21st Birthday! OH WHAT A NIGHT! Thank you for posting!
I have a hard time finding another Stella Blue that compares to this one. Jerry's playing is focused and spectacular, with a strong vocal too. So glad I found this vid. Voodoonola...the worlds greatest gift to RUclips. Thank you for the bottom of my groove.
Richfield 3/21/94 is the GOAT. :)
There's almost nothing as fun as watching Garcia level a Watchtower to the basis of the ground except for the entirety of everything else that happened in this second, miraculous set. It's high. The dedication is this is big.
Miss it
Sunday afternoon with beer, bud & the boys. Great sound! Stretch those legs Phil! I think Jerry loved playing with Bruce too. Doesn't get much better than this...
I KNOW I must've been here. Never missed the Garden runs !! 😎😍😎✌️💐💀💜💀💐💀💜😉😉
What a touch of grey
Have a picture perfect memory of standing in the Phil Zone looking down on the stage during the second set opening The Weight, a favorite song of mine, and thinking I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world at that moment. Funny how some things just stay and stick out in the memory of so many shows. 22 then, 50 now, where does the time go?
I wonder the same thing because I was disabled at the tender age of 50 years old ! To young for someone like me but they fuched up my knees so bad I can hardly walk but I get up with my cane + give it a good old try anyway ! I will survive !
i remember this show.like it was yesterday, time flies......
Birdsong. . MSG.. Priceless
This was a very beautiful and magnificent.
Great show great party like only yesterday how time flys ❤❤❤😊 now 2023 jer Bret keath and Jim may you all Rest In Peace god bless you guys were and still are. The best one day we will meet again
We Will Get By, We Will Survive!!
sounds like Vince is playing a little toy, little kids keyboard in Mexicali
Fantastic!

thank you for this epic show
Awesome show. THANK you for posting ❤o😊
" In and out of the Garden we go "
thank u thank u thank u
Great concert !!!
Gimme Some Lovin' definitely misses Brent! I believe this is the last time they did it.
✌💀⚡❤
Oh my god he was. crying that’s y he couldn’t sing all of it ! He didn’t forget his lines like folks would like to believe but I know that man + he was definitely crying because of so many gone before him ! He was not a happy man but he loved me because he came looking for me so what does say to u folks out there that might of seen me backstage or sometimes on it but mostly dancing backstage for him + Bill Graham filmed for 2 hours + I waved to him with the peace ☮️up to him ! I wish I could get ahold of that for my pleasure to c how good of a dancer I was ? I know I was good because I taught quite a few people how to dance because I could put 5 dances into 1 which nobody could do but me ! I swear on my life or anyone’s ? I know how good I was ! We all have talents !
I’m also queen Jane as the song says by the way because for about 8/9 years I had 95% pure coke ! So the song is obviously for me !
No Bruce yet, (looking at watch) any minute now....
Turn off Vince and u get a great show.....miss u Brent!
Plus there were 2 trucks coming at me which 1 was going to pass the 1 that was turning the same way I was but nobody got hurt ! 💙
digging space on this one
"Gimme Some Lovin'" without Brent - painfully awkward. Tried once and never again. . . Look at Garcia tearing up that "Watchtower." You watch and realize, he could have done just about anything. He could have easily sat in on an Iron Maiden album, LOL. If you haven't heard the night before 9/14 it's scorching. Actually a much better show than this one in my opinion. The "Fire" on 9/14 is outrageous. The other MSG nights are well known but that 9/14 is just as good or better than any of the others. Check it out.
Give Bruce a chance!
Micah Tischler 👍👍 my favorite!
Totally agree on the GSL. I was in attendance. I honestly thought these were some of the best sounding shows ever. I went to 4 out of 6. Set one on 9/19 was unreal.
Iron Maiden : ) nah there's a Beeadbox Garcia band I swear he gets some notes in there so hard I think he could be in the most astute hard rock mets band ever and lead it with ease. I swear have listened to that Beeadbox 60 times or more and it gets me everything. Iron Maiden. Lol
9-14 eh? I'll take a listen.
The woman he married for what reasons I never will know but we did resemble eachother a little bit ! The one thing Jerry said to me that I looked like someone he knew but couldn’t remember much when he was with me ! 🩷🐰🐇💀☠️☮️👻👽🪐🛸🚀🌹💖❤️🩶🩷🤎💙🖤💜🤍💔❤️🔥💘💞all my hearts for all the people that r left still after all of this misery !🥲😢😥😰🥵😟😨😡🥶
According to Wikipedia Vince Welnick played his first show for the Dead 9.7.2020. That must be a mistake, because all these Peace love and Understanding Deadheads would not bag endlessly on Vince's playing in this show if he only had played like 5 shows at this point. Right?
Also, he was primarily a piano player prior to joining the Dead, and had learned most of the tunes for this run on a piano. So, not only did he have to adjust to playing that crappy keyboard, he had to somehow figure out how to fit into the mix between Garica, Lesh, Weir, AND fucking Bruce Hornsby. I've bagged on Vince in the past, and was never that fond of his voice, but he was faced with a pretty daunting task here.
he wasnt that good yet. or shall I say ever IMO. It was too weird.
LOFL - Deadheads are the most judgemental people in the fucking world when it comes to this band. Also, I was at every show of this run and Vince's keyboards were way too high up in the mix and sounded like something you would hear at a circus or a hockey game. He was also not a very inventive player - he basically just mirrored the melody on every song.
really miss those solos like one Jerry did in Box of Rain this night
In 1980 accoutisc guitar which was so great plus I was there backstage with my niece ! Bobbys love at this time in the 80 s plus a little longer then me ! I was cooked , had to stop plus big Steve scared me into not wanting to take the chance of him hurting me !
WE "camped " in the parking garage across the street. The cops were all wearing rain ponchos for fear of being dosed "splashed with liquid"
l0l, sounds like something they would say. Waste of good stuff. splash me, yeah I have the good gritty tour stories
I like Vince's keyboards.
2:25:17 on.....oh my.
I’m sorry for poor Vince + u could tell Jerry wasn’t impressed with him by the looks he gives him to like turn it down ! 😮😊❤😂
paul wardle just curious but what would be your top 2 or 3 preferred Grate.Dead albums ?
"wahlkin Buuesz"
I think I was there with a friend......~
1:28:50
Was a lot to get done
I like TC a lot but his volume is way too hot here
@deadheads39 lol
I was more of a fan of the Boston run of this fall tour. And yes Vince was unbearable.
Chris Perkins actually, no Boston shows fall '90. But it's cool, the years tend to blend together ;)
They do indeed
It’s sad because he was sick with something + died a happy man to b able to b a part of the greatest band ever !
I think that awesome Boston run was 89'?
@@chrispeters5905 now that I am thinking about it there were two fall Boston runs .. 92 and 93. In 89 the played Foxboro in the summer.
Let's turn off Vince's amp while were at it.
Call the cops Sullivan 👮♂️
Call the cops Billy
Double keyboards and double drums.
I much prefer anything Vince does to Brent. Saw Brent twice and Vince twice. Never thought Brent was good for the Dead.
Small pool to draw from, my friend.
Wow, I've never heard anyone say that before. Have I just been living under a rock? I avoid Vince shows 9 times out of 10; has to be something special in the show for me to listen. This was Hornsby's first show, and my second show at MSG. I think if Vince chose different keyboard sounds - ones that sounded less, oh, I dunno, circus-like or new-agey, I'd probably not object. It's not his chords or his fills or patterns that are off-putting to me (most times); it's the damn sound of the keyboard.
Wow really? I think Brent voice was one of most haunting things I've ever heard. Who better to play and sing with than the grateful dead? Watch him. Hes raw energy that Jerry Garcia enjoyed greatly.
Ya I heard one other person say that but no way a deadhead turned band member no better story and his infectious exuberance that Jerry fed of of way better and Vince's voice ain't great
U r a stupid guy sir because u didn’t c enough of Brent ! He was the best they ever had + Jerry missed him badly !
I have a big old Cadillac deville 2003 in perfect condition now after my brakes went ! I had to turn into a ice machine which was empty but my insurance paid for what that car was worth but I had to pay the rest ! But it’s worth every cent with only 83#000 miles on it ! Wouldn’t u keep such a gem ? 😂🤣🤩🥳🤪😍🥰😘🩷🐇🐰🌹☮️👻👽🪐🛸🚀❤️🩶🤎🩷💜🖤❤️❤️🔥💔💘💞
