I just realized something... I only seem to watch your videos when I see you and Lok in the video. You guys are short one man from being the photography version of Top Gear. Consider working together more often.
I was making the decision between z6 and xt3 for half years and decided to buy xt3. That 16-80 glass is just mindblowing. The lenses are much cheaper then Z glasst and so many good 3rd lenses also. As a hobbyist, I think I made the right choice.
Fuji I LOVE your flip SCREEN concept! They have in my opinion the best flip screen arrangement on the marked. Makes high/low photo a breeze compared to the Panny/Oly/Canon idea where you have to flip it all the way out before rotating etc which makes you miss the moment. 100% cudos to Fuji here. This vlogging-thingy is just for a few users compared to the large amount of photographers out there.
I really loved the video, felt like DRTV’s (whatever the hell that means) most glorious times, I believe the internet and the humanity as a whole will be thankful if you’d push forward your BokeBros channel and workout a way to review every single camera or lens with Lok, some may want to add alamby as well, while it would be the cherry on top it doesn’t seem to be manageable but the two of you seem to be able to team up like the old days, the internet is lacking that kind of reviews
The AF seems quicker than my middle range Sony mirrorless.📷 I didn't think I'd need a full frame mirrorless but now I want one! Fujifilm is my dream 📷. Good to see you again, Kai and Lok together.
As ever, good to see Lok and Kai together again. On the question of the X-T3 it seems an OK bit of kit but for all the talk by the fanboys of this brand or that, all it seems to demonstrate it that you would be hard put to buy a truly rubbish camera today. Whilst different brands and models have their strengths and their weaknesess, even an experienced pair like Lok and Kai have little to say either that positive or negative about about this camera and that probably goes for most too :)
Your money old chap, buy what appeals to you, forget all the opinions of others it is only yours that counts when it comes to paying for kit. Thank heavens there will never be a perfect camera, there will always be room for improvement and that will also keep Kai and Lok gainfully employed too :)
Dang those images look amazing out of the XT-3. I love the film simulations. I'm breaking into the wedding video/photo market and I feel like the XT-3 wins on all fronts. Great lowlight, great color and glass, amazing video too. All you need is the camera, a gimbal and a monopod and you're storted! I did not expect the GH5s to be dethroned from #1 on my wish list so soon.
Using the wide tracking mode, it almost always hits the intended target and it focuses incredibly fast, faster than my Sony. The phase detection across the entire frame completely changes things
I love Fuji cameras. I used to own a X-E2 and it was just terrific fun to shoot with. I would love to switch to Fuji as my primary shooter but can't bring myself to go back to APS-C full time. It's about time Fuji went full frame. Nikon, Canon and even Panasonic have jumped on the band wagon.
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. That shot from the hip. Kai, you are a mess. I absolutley love your videos and have been a fan for years bro. Good to see you and Lok together. Cheers. From Eugene Oregon.
Great review! I’ve also been pleasantly surprised with the XT3! Considering switching over to making it our primary camera for youtube. The autofocus will hopefully get less snappy if enough of us complain about it because Fuji is great with firmware updates
Used to use canon 550d up until recently, it was my friend’s camera. Bought my first camera and it happens to be xt3!! Cant wait to explore it!! Looks beautiful.
As far as Tilty-Flippy goes, all I "really" care about is that it tilts up and down for awkward Macro shots. Yes, the "Flippy" would let you get even MORE awkward macro, but the bulk of shooting is covered with "Tilty". I suppose the bottom line though is maybe it's just not a good idea to ignore the Vlogging market at this point in time.
Trouble is if you're trying to convince people to switch from using the iPhone to a "real" camera, then you're looking at a market of people who use one device. Which is not to say that the X-T3 needs to be that device, Fuji has cameras that fit Vlogging perfectly, but some people might be looking for "a bit of everything" and be turned away from the X-T3 just because it can't fill that one video production role that is probably very important to anyone who does Vlogging.
8:10 mark...you can adjust the shutter level noise. There are 4 options. Customization is endless on the X T3. 8:26...there are also lots of native OIS lenses available, so lack image stabilization on this camera is non issue. !5:15 mark. My X T3 doesn't snap into focus and is smooth. The recent firmware release 3.01 may have corrected that or it could be your settings.
Kai and Lok, like fish and chips, i think.... good to see the fuji love is flowing, despite all those FF mirrorless cameras appearing, its fuji that is making us all excited! Not bought any of the X-T... cameras yet, i stil use my X-E2, but this makes me wanna upgrade so much now!
One thing that not mentioned is Fuji X-t3 uses H.265 for video, which needs much more compute power to play and edit rather than H.264. The only advantage of H.265 - better quality and smaller sizes at lower bitrates. H.265 is big pain to edit if you do not have monster spec PC/MAC.
I love my xt3 had it used in the cold rain today and held up perfectly, I made the jump from Nikon! The only thing is there is not a lot of 3rd party lenses available.. the camera is sharp though!!
Very nicely presented vlog! And truly stunning images. Although I am a full frame shooter, I would like to switch to APS-C setup just to keep my kit a bit lighter & smaller. My only concern is about low light conditions, which I frequently come across while travelling. Can you or anyone having good experience with both the systems, on low light performance, please share your thoughts on that point? Again thanks for sharing your views on XT-3 and may God bless you for your future endeavours!
Rodolpho's Tech channel but for photos you get like a little bit more on DoF and maybe a little more dynamic range, that’s all, isn’t It? So for the price Fuji is better?

you gonna switch to the xt3 from gh5 or nah? already have sony too but at least it focuses better than gh5 :P. for someone who loves the leica/film camera body style i could totally see you vlogging with the silver version with the black leather :P maybe all black but silver got that retro camera vibe
I thoroughly enjoyed using my XT2 while I had it. As soon as the XH1 got released, I wanted it However, I'm not too sure about the low light performance of the XH1 and the details lost through the noise level. What do you recommend?
I'd like to purchase the X-T3, but the X-T2 is more in my ball park - price wise. Especially considering I need to invest in a lens and maybe extra batteries and memory cards? I want to know if it's still worth it and relevant? Or should I try my best to get my hands on the X-T3? Or should I invest in something else completely? Like the a6500?
ill give you my 2 cent's, The xt2 is still a very very good camera and for the vast majority of shooting i doubt you would even notice much of difference especially in signal point. Stick to your budget if you can all get a an XT2 and the f2 collection then do so and feel bad it about as i say it still a very good camera. I would touch the a6500 personally. If i where to go for another APSC camera regardless with it was mirrorless or not it would be the nikon D500. If you feel comfortable stretching you budget to the XT3 and you still have money left for a good lens and you need need need the new features of the XT3, get it. I have the Xt2 and shoot landscapes and travel photos with it with a little macro and the auto focus is great for that. I dont really feel the need to rush out get it at all would i like it the XT3 sure as it is a step up but it certainly doesnt make the XT2 obsolete at all.
The next priority for Fujifilm is to down size the IBIS mechanism and top down to all its relevant models. XT and XPRO series deserves IBIS, although I do hope XE series got IBIS one day. BTW since XT3 4K 60p is already 1.18 crop can they implement electronic stabilization?
