Fantastic vid, both playing and format. Only improvement I can think of is using a Bass with main fret marker/inlays on fret board, makes it a little bit easier to see where your fingers are going. Thanks for filming, Andy
Thank you man! Yeah I know that It's probably dificult to follow the fingers without any referencie of frets, but It's my Bass...😅 I Hope that the tab is clear enough to learn the song. Thanks for comments!

Thank you Kriss!! Answering your question, you don't need a 5 strings Bass to Play any Metallica song (Burton, Newsted and Trujillo always played 4 string basses as far as I know). But if you like Metal un general a 5 string Bass would be useful, not For classic metal (Maiden, Judas, etc...), and essential For some "modern" metal (Slipknot, korn, etc...) or progressive metal. Also, a 5 string Bass could give you more flexibility for tune down songs. It's Up to you, depends on the Music you like or what you want to play

@@BassAttacks Actually, both Jason and Trujillo played 5 string basses and used the B string on some occasions live, though as far as I know in the studio they never used the B string. Robert uses the B string during his pre for whom the bell tolls solo, and Jason used it during Master of Puppets in 1989 in the intro
@Andy Kromer, thank for the info, I've never put attention to that, but although they use 5strings Live, It isn't neccesary to play those songs (For whom and Master)
You should listen to the isolated bass track for Orion. Cliff does a little bass fill in the outro but it’s buried in the mix so everyone always misses it. Great playing otherwise
Thanks man! Yeah, I used the isolated tracks for this cover, I'm afraid I miss this point in the outro, probably I was more focused in the solo and interlude😅😅. Thanks for the comment!🤘🤘

Yep, is It possible, you could substitute some notes to play them an octave lower, It would sound weird, and this wouldn't contribuye to much yo the song, but you can do It. Also you could play the whole song 5 semitones lower (this is to play everything one string lower), It would be weirder, but who knows...😅
No idea why you went to the 12th and 14th frets on the lower during the Waltz when that's make it more difficult and literally no other bassist in the world plays it like that but pretty good overall.

I'm a big fan of Metallica in general to answer all ur questions😂 and I play bass as well, nice sound also👍🤘 you could do a master of puppets or ride the lightning cover?
Love the tone, tabs, mix, playing, etc etc...thanks bro
Bar 89 & 93 are 5-7 slides on the first note :)
Thanks! I missed It 😅
I really like that “pickled oak” looking finish!!!
I lucked out and saw the “Ride the Lightning” tour in a nightclub.
Best $13 I’ve ever spent!!!
It had to be an amazing show, It's a shame that at that time I was a kid😂
@@BassAttacks it was epic!
The club holds less than a thousand people.
Excellent cover man, I loved it!
Thanks!!! 🤘🤘

Awesome playing, man! Does the 5th string ever come in handy for Metallica songs? I want a bass but can't decide between 4 or 5 strings.

I've never seen anybody play it on a five-string bass ❤️
It's the same that in a four-string bass. I don't use the 5th string for this song.
@@BassAttacks I thought you did. Is it possible to use the B string for this song?

@shoelace me neither! 🤷🏼🤣 Economy of motion? Temporary alienation? Who knows? 😂 I just played It as I considered better. Thenks for your comment!
Clif Burton RIP 😢
