      I would really prefer that they would get rid of robert and hire you. You play like Cliff played. I am going to mug marty and doc brown when I find them and I’ll go back and drive the MetallicA bus and I will make sure that Cliff lives and kirt doesn’t, when we get to town after the crash Dave Mustaine will be waiting there to make the band whole again now that kirts been crushed by the bus instead of Cliff

      Most of the metal bassists can finger pick, but will chose to use a bass pick to get a different sound.

    • @Brankas
      @Brankas 6 лет назад +33

      The pick brings up the mids cutting through the mix, helping dynamic articulation/definition. has easier natural string muting, and can help you play faster. I rather use fingers but it certainly is a different sound, not better or worse, just different

    • @notmozart8866
      @notmozart8866 6 лет назад +2

      Finger picking is not the right term. You probably meant Pizzicato as it is the technique used in the video (and in the song in general)

    • @Johnbovii

      Not Mozart yeah well everyone still calls it finger picking. Guitarists and bassists never use the right terms. You know this.

    I can tell this man has been studying and practicing Cliffs playing and gear for many years . He's got the playing down pat , the right bass , the effects , tone and puts it together in way where he still adds his own character . If Cliff was born the same time as this brother . The first time I heard this song I got goosebumps upon goosebumps, something stirred in my stomach, creeping into my soul. I never felt this with a song before that, I think it was something unleashing inside which is now a deeper appreciation of music and the feelings it can unfold. Just like the Goddesses did with Orion, this song, for me, has made Cliff immortal, ofcourse all of his work is beyond great, but this song stirs me the most every time.
    Hearing and seeing your cover, again gave me the feelings like hearing it the first time. Along with it comes even more appreciation, seeing how, to me, difficult it is to play, as I'm trying to learn bass as well. Whenever i feel bad, I'll just watch this, because it makes me very happy to see you play with such passion.

      I only noticed that when i started to play bass... and some metallica songs got my attention. I couldnt care less about distorted loud guitars, but these basslines touch my soul idkwhy they'r not the most complex thing to play, but the special way this guy approaches the strings... Can sound like a badass church organ or a heavenly harp, awesome stuff

    Hey man great work. Quick question to the masses... it seems like Cliff's "style" is to play bass *not* the same way others play bass. I know that sounds obvious as heck, but this guy's playing bass the same way I'd play guitar. How might you describe Cliff's style?
