    Just Wow!! I’m a 48 yr old middle school science teacher; and a ridiculous fan of old school Metallica! I mention the middle school teacher, because I’m stunned to see such a stellar performance of early Metallica from guys your age…
    I would literally bring my guitar and amp into class for demonstration on sound waves, and roll off some riffs of various bands to my students.. no students identified Metallica riffs… I grew up with 1/3 of the kids in my schools being headbangers…

      I am too. That is why I was really disappointed when I saw Jason recently play Orion, the slow bass part. From a recording in San Diego 1992 or something like, and he butchers it. It was awful. Couldn't play it properly. How ever these guys really gave it Justice. Super good.

    • @katho8472
      @katho8472 4 месяца назад

      @@Atlas65 Yep, 1992 San Diego, only the slow 6/8 part, and there only parts of it... But to be fair, I don't know if he ever got to listen to the single track from the studio (of if the others couldn't bare digging those tapes out). Without those and/or a good transcription of that track, you can't play it properly. You can't hear every tiny detail in the full recording, and all tab books out there are crap, especially regarding Orion!

      ☑️ Yeah, and all they need to do now is to post a live tribute to ANY song off of "And Justice For All", which of course would entail turning the ^bass player's volume all the way down..... Sure, he can still stand there and (frustratedly) pretend as if he's playing, but obviously there can't be any actual bass sound, for historical consistency.... 👍

    Burton-esque finger style bass throughout.
    Interchanging the Hetfield/Hammett parts so everyone is having a good time with the fretboard.
    Drums on point, even the fade-in intro and nailing that tricky syncopation.
    Just so good, and this is one of those songs I'd normally be able to find issues with when covered.

    Nice work. Nailed it yet again. Would be dope if you could check out "Flowing" by 311. It's conveniently only 3:11 long. Think you guys would dig it because Tool, RATM, Pearl Jam, and Alice in chains are some of my favorite bands. And if you ever wanted to do a cover of it (not that I expect you to) I'm positive you'd pull it off. Pretty simple but it's also got some small touches of harmonizing in it that you'd easily pull off.

    Ya know, it wasn’t precisely like the recording. And that’s what makes this jam absolutely perfect! You 4 have a definite chemistry. Orion is not an easy pull, regardless of what anyone says. I’ve ran through it on bass and both guitar parts. All three have definite challenges and you guys had fun, inserted your own accents, and while paying respect to the OG kings, made it your own. I really hope you guys make it big. You obviously have the talent to make your own awesome stuff. That song’s a bitch, faster than it ever gets credit for, and it’s tedious. Great job! Not sure how much time you guys spend on your hair, but good job on that too. Hats off guys! Very impressed.

    Cliff Burton was a phenomenon! Great to see you young bucks connecting to what he brought to life. I don't think Lars, James and Kirk would have been half the band that Metallica has become without Cliff getting the band focused in the early 80's. Keep up the good work young men, I can tell you are having fun!! We are too!!
