(crystal removal and ceramic vs steel bezel ball bearings). Great job! So now, a few months later, I have had my SN019G and must say it is one of my favorite watches. As your video describes, it is well made and additionally it is relatively accurate. I really like it!
The SN019G looks great. However, San Martin seem to forget they are still an AliExpress homage brand it's hitting the $400 mark, which is a bit steep, thx for the video.
Great review. The SM SN019-G certainly is a great looking homage. Its a bit heavy on the $$ for me but I understand the pricing given the apparent build quality. Thanks for putting this video together. Outstanding job! Bravo!
Considering the quality it is not expensive at all... Steinhart is more expensive but it has swiss made at the dial and nobuy complains about the price. I have 2 san martins and 2 Steinharts and san martin is a better watch
Opinions are like a-holes - everyone has one. Thing is for every criticism you have of the other versions of this brand's Sub homages there's a RUclips video with a contrary opinion. This isn't a criticism of you, it's more an observation. One channel said the very best version of this homage is the 017v2, then another said the v2 is crap compared to the 017v3.1 and absolutely every single iteration possible of all 017's through to the 019's. This leaves the viewer [me] feeling somewhat flaccid. One has no idea what to buy so one doesn't buy anything.
I have got an original Rolex Submariner Date and a San Martin SN019, SW200 with the new not glide-lock clasp. This to watches are the best of the world for me. Only the self opening glide-lock clasp is a crap.
They changed the clasp in the meantime. I have still the one with the glidelock. It does not work exactly and opens by its own. I think therefor they changed it. I wrote to San Martin and I get a new glasp. The idea of the glidelock is brillant but it was not well done. The watch itself is super. I had the 017 before and sold it after one week because all edges were very sharp.
Has they changed the clasp now to the regular line up with the click buttons on this instead of the one featured in this video (glidelock clasp /double safety like Rolex)? Great video
Yep, I didn't know that but it looks like they have changed to the "original design" of them, with buttons... Kind of a shame, since this clasp here is just great.
Yeah I saw some people complaining about that, but mine stay in place normally. I even tried to force it to see if it slides, but it stays firmly in place.
@@MyHommageWatchCollection Some stores (like WRwatches) don't show the glidelock style clasp on their product pictures, I don't know if SM is not longer using it or they show other style clasp to avoid patent infringement issues. Where did you buy yours?
Thank you for the great review ! I think the only issues for me with the SN019 are the cyclops alignment and blue AR, and that date font (micro issue but I can’t get over how it doesn’t look right) ! These are stopping me for getting one, I really hope that they will make a V2 fixing these issues. Otherwise great watch, miles better than the Squale and Steinhart sub homages.
There is a new no date one that just came out . It is a little smaller . I think it will be better then this one . Keep up the good work . Thanks. . Sorry . I see you do know about the new one . My bad . Lol
The sn019-g with Swiss SW200 and the new clasp are much more exclusive and play in a completely different league. The glide-lock clasp from before was a self opening crap and was the only thing what felt very cheap! For the Swiss SW200 version you pay 100$ more, but if you sell it you will get 250$ more back.
Yes, pretty much like the 41mm Sub. Actually it have the exact same dimensions of the 41mm Sub, like the SN017 have for the 40mm, so even thou it's 1mm larger, the slimmer lugs make it feel of the same size.

I bought one but the glide lock kept loosening on it's own. Sold it for what I paid and kept my sn017
