CORRECTION!, At 1.40 I talk about moving the horizontal clip to fit the housing in the fairing, you can't get your hand under because of abs modulator. I had to use a long piece of wood between the fairing and headlight to manipulate clip. Must be a better way as it drove me mad.

Hi Graham. I've just removed and replaced my left side fairing and tank cover. I could not have done it without your excellent videos - many thanks for putting the time and effort in to make them. I had a bit of trouble removing the crash bungs - after you take off the 12mm lock nut, the crash bung comes out leaving a 12mm bar in the bike. I had to take the other 12mm nut from the other side and then put them both on the bar so I could use a 19mm spanner to get the bar out of the engine. Putting the fairing back on is a pain - it took me over 3 hours to take them off and put them back on!

Thanks John, I've actually just taken them off again to consider a plug change but the front ones are scaring me as it looks quite tricky.
My lock nut didn't come off it just pulled the threaded bar out, no nut on other side.. Are yours R&G?

@@Grahamvfr I've just bought my VFR and it had been dropped on the left side. The bungs are R&G and must have done their job as there is no damage to the fairings. The rod had a bend in it and would not turn. I didn't want to use pliers or grips to turn it - hence the two nuts. I will not be attempting the spark plugs - that is well above my competence!!

@@johnchambers4284 Well good that they worked. I've changed rear plugs quite easy (needs original plug wrench though), and looked at doing the fronts, but may well chicken out. 🤔

Yes undoubtedly well designed both aesthetically and in engineering terms. Unfortunately they didn't allow for the less dexterous, such as me. haha.

Thanks for these videos. Very helpful. You think you could do a video on the frame sliders? I bought some but don't know how to put them on.

Are they exactly the same R&G aero bungs.?

Hiya Graham can I ask you another question again, finally got out on my bike today for the first time although just to fuel up, the question is when you’re bike is on centre stand and in 1st gear how much play is there on the rear wheel when you turn it forward and back, my bake has had the shaft recall done but has a bit of movement on it, atleast 2 notches on the ABS ring is this normal and yours the same, your help is appreciated as always.

Yea, I had same concern, but checked with a few owners at bike meets. Just re checked mine aboutv15-16 mm and it is roughly 2 abs ring slots. Should be fine John.

Hi Graham, great video with your findings! I have a question, maybe as you removed the fairing you already know, do you know about the removal of the round honda badges from the sides? I got one scratched and I tried to replace it it but I don´t know if it´s glued or uses some kind of screw or something. I did not remove the fairing so far, maybe you already know this and can save me some time investigating :) Thanks in advance! Cheers!

Can't believe I didn't even check. However I do remember someone telling me they are stuck on. They apparently used dental floss to break the adhesive (warmed up first). Hope that helps 🤔

I remember seeing this on a video, he had to heat the back of the fairing behind the badge with a hair dryer and carefully tease it off, as they are stuck on.
