One of the if not the most underrated RUclipsr in the platform! I love your videos, I currently have a Honda Civic and I plan on getting a g35 coupe very soon thanks to you 🙏🏼
I own a Honda Civic right now and I'm planning to do the exact same but I want to keep my G35 forever so I'm trying to find a good one that hasn't been abused but it's getting harder and harder these days
Beautiful car man! Your attention to detail is superb! I own a 13' Nismo myself and having 350hp to the crank from the factory feels good lol I wanted the g35 as my "better" car but finding a stock one as clean as yours is next to impossible I decided on the Nismo but it did set me back thousands haha
nukexD .....Thank you. Put Motordyne Shockwave/ART pipes on your Nismo 370z to get an experience, unlike anything else. It completely transforms the car into gurgling banshee, with no drone or rasp at all.
Infiniti is always 3-4 years ahead of Nissan in production technology, in history. After owning a Z31 300zx turbo, I bought a G35, and was surprised just how similar the two are, from a marketing standpoint. The two are beautiful, luxurious, sporty cars.. the 350z interior is cheap, just the dash is immediate proof of it. I'm really proud to be a Nissan enthusiast, because from my experiences, I've owned the best vehicles offered at their time, and its shown me the engineering genius
@@toxyboi You miss the point. Why has Infiniti been so innovative inside research and development of automotive technology? Nissan shares everything, essentially, considering new technology Infiniti developed. Infiniti gets the latest cutting edge tech 3-4 years before Nissan, by which I mean production Infiniti vehicles will have more advanced production technology before production Nissan vehicles catch up. The Infiniti G35 wasn't exactly a rebadged Nissan 350z, after all. I wouldn't recommend being so divisive because it's not so simply Infiniti=Nissan, because it isn't.
Most helpful video out there for NA vq owners. There's a million exhaust sound videos, but without performance numbers you might as well be buying snake oil.
I just purchased an 2006 g35 with an automatic transmission, and also managed to collect all of the 6 speed manual conversion parts. I was wondering how do you measure out the precise spots to cut out and drill the holes for the clutch master cylinder and clutch pedal studs to mount on the left side of the brake master cylinder? Some automatic transmission vehicles have a stamped imprint outlining the holes for the studs and clutch master cylinder reservoir for a potential clutch pedal install. My 2006 automatic G35 doesn't have a stamped imprint so it's hard to pin point exactly where to drill in order to avoid installing the clutch pedal at an incorrect angle.
bhahha.....thanks. The best record I have is this one right here, cop dash cam video of trooper of the year losing to the G. ruclips.net/video/TpltfuIT33k/видео.htmlm43s
You make some top quality videos and have been spitting out all kind of information to a novice that just wants to buy a G35, congrats you just earned yourself a sub. Here before you hit 500k keep it up.
300BHP starting. Total gain of 40ish BHP. Is 340BHP. You don't retroactively apply a percentage loss. The loss is the same through the diff for example regardless of how much power the motor makes.
I have a 2003 g35 sadan. I bought it at an auction for $1200 been beating on it for a year now and it has 236,000 miles on it. The lifter just started to make that ticking sound. I'm looking at popping another motor with lower miles on it and keep it. I have 2 Corvettes and this g35 is just as fun and likely faster. I love this car. I heard the sedan is 300 lbs lighter then the coupe.
Best sound G35 on youtube man. I'm impressed with your documentation too. I also use this calculation. whp / 1 minus the percentage of drivetrain loss = crank hp. For example, 283 / .8 = 353.75
I don't think this is correct, if it is my G35 Tuned HR is making 393.75 HP at the crank and it sure doesn't feel like it, my understanding is 15% drivetrain loss on a manual.
im new to the game but I purchased a 05 g35 sedan with 134500 miles for 800 bucks from my retired navy friend. so far had to change my valve cover gasket and all 3 crank/cam sensors basic tune up and have to do lil more front end work but good lord this car runs hard without mods so im looking to add mods once im done fixing her up..nice vid by the way
Awesome video. Props on documenting the setps and progression! Quick question. When you switched to the motorDYNE. Did you keep the Invidia pips and just change mufflers/axle back or did you go with their full exhaust???
Hey got a question for u . I have been running invidia Gemini with artpipes on my car and just purchased a motordyne tdx2 to replace the invidia . Now how much louder is the motordyne with artpipes compared to the invidia with artpipes ?! Great videos btw !
5:55 "Engine Power T WC (HP)" Means "With Correction" which means that there was a "Correction Factor" already applied to the numbers. What was the Uncorrected dyno numbers?
If I'm not mistaken, HP at the crank on a Dyno is when the engine is removed and put on a dyno. Your HP figures are wheel HP even with the wheel removed. The drivetrain drag is the transmission, drive shaft and differential which syphon off power due to mass. You might redo your figures with out the 20% loss since you actually have wheel HP and torque figures.
All manufactures should do the same then, just give out wheel horsepower stats instead of at the crank stats. Unfortunately, all manufactures publish at the crank horsepower numbers; I chose to do the same. You are correct, it doesn't matter if the wheels or off or not, where the loss is happening.
I could have done without the beginning when you are just moving the car around the parking lot. Another reason for the HP jump is 1st few dyno runs it looks like you ran on a mustang dyno, which are notoriously known for giving low numbers. After that it didn't look like a mustang dyno. Pretty good numbers. I'm sure she's a blast to drive
videos are always good, but why would you go hub dyno instead of mustang? the results to figure out the actual gains with new parts wont be the same. are you going to go back to the same mustang dyno to measure differences?
Thanks for watching........I moved from Dallas to Phoenix is why the change in dynos. My old tune was in Dallas on a mustang dyno and the tuner in Phoenix uses a hub dyno or dynapack. Changing dynos does not effect the gain, the gain is all that matters. Each run there was a baseline pull to measure the power before any tuning. Mustang dyno gain: 24whp/35wtq Dynapack dyno gain: 13whp/10wtq Total: 37whp/45wtq In regards to overall number, I figured the dynapack would read higher than a mustang dyno. Nope, not at all. I did 269whp on the mustang dyno and then before any tuning for the motordyne shockwave/art pipes it did 270whp on the dynapack. This is not a high reading dynapack like church's and 1whp is within the noise, so basically the same readings.
Nah, flexican77 is right. Different dyno to your stock run, the gains shown here cannot be taken as correct. This needs to be run on the original dyno.
No but your missing the point. The power achieved on one dyno can be different to another so your basing your 'gains' from your stock figure. Therefore to see total gain after mods you NEED to use the same dyno for them to be accurate. I'd bet you if you went to 3 different dyno's on the same day. You would get 3 different figures. Honestly, talking to Americans is like sweeping water up hill with a pitchfork...
No, gain is not gain. Gain is only measured against stock figures. On the same dyno. May as well put a Nissan Micra on a dyno in New York and get 50hp and then run a GTR on a dyno in Dallas and get 600hp and claim a gain of 550 after a few tweaks... I won't stoop to your level of name calling, that's just a sign of both immaturity and knowing you're wrong, but I will address a few of your points. 1- No never been on a dyno, no point with a 350z that is not FI yet the figures will be no more than 10-20hp over stock at most. Even with a tune and run. 2- You are basing you gains of a baseline pull with new parts and no tune for them, I see where you are coming from on on gains after the tune. That is correct. But claiming the final % gain over stock is wrong. 3- Either way we look at this, without FI the G35/350z is a slow car by today's standard so no point chasing numbers when they won't be that good. I will say though, probably should have said earlier, you have a very nice example of a G and should be quite proud of what you have done with it.
Just picked up a bone stock 03' 6spd. Would you recommend doing exhaust & tune 1st?, or should I do throttle body as well? Love your G and your clean approach to mods
Just picked up some new work wheels and carbon trunk, the G has made a transformation. Yeah as soon as you remove the CATs, you need a tune. Do everything else first and then remove the CATs, before going to a tuner.
I have this exhaust... sounds sooooooo good man. It puts a smile on my face everytime i hit the gas. But mine hasn't been tuned yet so idk where I'm at in terms of power
can't do anything with the engine in California now so I'm limited with my 350Z to just suspension brakes etc. there are a couple of cold air kits and shorty exhaust pipe they're supposedly carb but I don't know they won't ship to California so I I don't get that.
Your number weren’t off at all I have most of the Mods you have besides the exhaust and my dyno Came our around the Same 294whp 271wtq. On E . So if I was tuned to 91-93 I would be around 280whp and around the same tq numbers . Really great video on how far you’ve come !
Hey bud I have an 05 G35coupe (non rev-up automatic) with a little over 107,500 miles on it and was wondering a few things I could buy/ change to increase my hp just to start off with. I’d greatly appreciate your input. Maybe just a small list?
Mathew Piwowar ....Check out my video on my Top 7 mods. ruclips.net/video/sDAiIT2qXRA/видео.html For you, Motordyne 5/16th spacer. Motordyne ART pipes and Invidia Gemini exhaust is a good setup to start with.
Subscribe to my channel and find out. AdminTuning is making me a custom long tube 3.5" cold air intake, in front of the bumper. For the DE or DE-Rev-up, he only offers the short tube 3.5 inch intake. I'm going to be going back to the dyno when it cools down from 115 degrees here in Phoenix. I plan to go back around September, he says on top of my tune and with all my breather mods in place, I should get around 16whp - 20whp gains, through out the entire curve. We will see, stay tuned. Performance Mods: - KW v3 Coilovers - Injen CAI ---- down in front of the bumper - NWP 75mm throttle body - Motordyne MREV2 - Motordyne 5/16th spacer - Motordyne v3 ART pipes - Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 exhaust.
I know you might not respond, but I've been saving up for a g35, I watch your videos a lot and you have made me want one so badly. but I'm confused and had a question... the art pipes, did you take them off and then replace them with the shockwave? because I keep trying to find the art pipes in your vids, or picture but never see them. so I wanted to know if they work hand in hand, or if they are both separate things.
How is your car over regular and big speed bumps? Are your Motordyne's scraping? What about tires and wheels? My 2012 G37xS (Canadian Variant - Made in Japan) has stock 19" x 9 wheels.I have H&R spacers: 15mm front and 20mm rear. I'm on Toyo 245/40 front and 265/35 rear. Thinking of new wheels with 10" in the rear....Tires will stretch. Up here in Montreal we have bad roads especially in the spring because of cracks in the pavement and pot holes. The bridges and elevated highways have expansion joints which can really jolt you. I have aftermarket Tanabe NF210 Lowering springs on the factory struts...they are 5% stiffer than stock. I find it still very stiff. My wife hates the ride sometimes on city streets. Highways are nice though. What settings would work for a softer ride without compromising handling? I love the sound of my stock exhaust with my R2C intakes but I think I like your sound even better. I will have to do some digging here to see if I can find a G37xS coupe with similar a similar setup.
Allan Sonac ....I never scrape and I go into detail on your questions in this video on my suspension setup.......ruclips.net/video/sDAiIT2qXRA/видео.html
If you're waiting to blow the motor before you boost it, it's never going to happen as long as you keep running Amsoil. That stuff is too good. On another note, was there a difference in the HP ratings when your car was manufactured, i.e., SAE vs the older rating? I ask because I have an 08 HR and depending on the dyno, they usually make stock, 260 to 270 WHP. If a 20% loss is the average for the G or Z platform, doesn't that equate to approx 330 hp? Which may by why the HR's have always given the 370's a hard time stock for stock. I've got the Stillen Gen 3's, Motordyne ART Pipes, and Shockwave TDX2 on the way, with a tune as well. All three have been backordered for the last two weeks. I'm curious what my crank hp is going to be. Maybe 375ish? Anyways, great video.
I'm actually going to upload a video on what oil to use. I sent my oil off to blackstone labs to get tested and there is a sample graph I have of like 86 people who sent in used oil from their vq35de motor. I will post the results. Amsoil placed 2nd place, with Castrol being number 1. When it comes to gear oil, Amsoil is the best and I use it in my transmission and rear diff. Good eyes, noticing the sticker...LOL. Yeah......these engines with proper lube are documented to do 300,000 miles. Not sure if I wait that long for boost or not, but we will see. On that dynpack I was at, an HR 350z did 290whp with all bolts ons and then he put on motordyne shockwave/art pipes and it did 305whp. Usually 370z or G37's put down stock 270whp, which is 333hp like you are saying. HR35's are 306hp--309hp and put down 250-55 stock, if it is 270 then it is a high reading dyno. Eitherway, if you got motordyne art pipes/shockwave exhaust on the way, forget the power. You will be in love the sound and transformation. Congratulations on the your favorite mod, you will love it and it is worth the back order wait. I also had to wait when I bought mine like over a month. I say it again and again, youtube does motordyne no justice. In person, it is just wow. VQ35HR-.....en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VQ_engine A new dual-path intake (two air cleaners, throttle bodies, etc.) lowers intake tract restriction by 18 percent and new equal-length exhaust manifolds lead into mufflers that are 25 percent more free-flowing for all around better airflow. The electrically actuated variable valve timing on the exhaust cams to broaden the torque curve is new over the "DE" engine. The new engine block retained the same bore and stroke, but the connecting rods were lengthened and the block deck was raised by 8.4 mm to reduce piston side-loads. This modification, along with the use of larger crank bearings with main bearing caps reinforced by a rigid ladder-type main cap girdle to allow the engine reliably rev to 7600 rpm. With an increase in compression ratio from 10.3:1 to 10.6:1 these changes add 6 more horsepower (306 total + 3 hp ram air effect not measured by SAE testing = 309 hp).
I just purchased a 07 Infiniti G35s sedan. It has the vq35hrengine in it and I've been trying to find throttle bodies for it but I can't can you point me in the right direction.
great video! along with every other one I've watched. I know a good bit about the vqs but this has put some light on some things I didn't even know. I have one question though, what air intake did you end up going with? if you don't want to tell that's fine. I've just been researching, and some seem cheap and most seem over priced but cheap material. thanks for the video and your time!
Stay tuned, I'm going back to the dyno with my new custom long tube air intake from AdminTuning 3.5 inch intake. Moncef said with my mods, I should gain another 16whp. I did not talk about my current air intake on purpose in the video because of the controversy with the OEM airbox vs. warm air intakes. I know Rob, in Dallas, who posted it on g35driver and I looked at all the logs, all of them were also short air intakes sucking warm air, so the stock box won. Rob never tested 1 long tube intake, all short ones. This one is the Injen cold air, down in front of the bumper, like my first mod before all the controversy. On data logs, under full load, my air intake temps are about 3-4 degrees above outside air. On the stock OEM air intake box, under full load, air intake temps were 13-15 degrees above outside temps. Do I think it makes much more than the OEM box, no not really, maybe 1 or 2 whp difference and that being because at the MAF the diameter is still the same OEM. Even though Injen starts at a 4" pipes that tappers down to under 3" before the MAF. This new intake with be 3.5 inches all the way, including the MAF, so we will see.
hey man i've just seen a couple videos of yours and they're really sick and have a lot of useful information! so i have the 04 g35 coupe with obviously the non uprev motor, so kinda makes a little less power. but i wanted to know what can i do to my g without having to turbo it so i can get the most power out it?! would you recommend the same performance mods that you have or would add or do anything different? thanks! keep up these dope videos!
Thanks for checking out my channel and the feedback. I watch a lot of youtube and I decided to start posting things I want to see on the G, that people are not posting. You have the right idea not going with a turbo and staying NA, the car will be a lot more durable and last longer. Unless a motor was designed for boost, you will have problems. Building a motor cost $$ and then plus the boost kit. The non rev can get up to 325-330 HP at the crank and not 350 HP, either way it is still a very fun car to drive. I recommend Motordyne ART pipes which are mandatory whatever you do, but should be the very last mod before the tune or the car will run lean. Getting the potatoes out of the exhaust, couch CATS, are the biggest bottle neck. Going full Motordyne is expensive though, so you would be happy with my old set up, until you want more. Performance Mods I recommend for your - 04 G35 - Motordyne 5/16th spacer - Long tube Injen CAI - Motordyne ART Pipes - Invidia Gemini exhaust. Unless you have the 75mm throttle body a 3.5 intake is not worth getting. I'm thinking of getting the 3.5 inch intake by the administration and doing a dyno video on the gains. You won't see gains from this intake either unless you have all the other breather mods first. My Current Performance Mods: - KW v3 Coilovers - Injen CAI - NWP 75mm throttle body - Motordyne MREV2 - Motordyne 5/16th spacer - Motordyne v3 ART pipes - Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 exhaust.
Just wanted to say I have a lot of respect for your build and am currently about to purchase the motordyne mrev2, 5/16" iso thermal spacer, nwp 75mm throttle body, and jwt popcharger for my 350z. My big question is, did you have to the idle air relearn procedure after installing the 75mm throttle body or was that issue fixed on the dyno?
TheAntagonizer ....thanks for checking out my build. Stay tuned, going back to the tuner with a new custom 3.5 inch intake, claims another 16whp on top of current mods. Anytime you disconnect the harness on the throttle body, you have to do the idle relearn procedure. I did it, not my tuner. Pretty easy to do. I should create a how to video.
Well, not many people have rev-up DE's. Only rev-ups with the right mods can get there. It comes stock with 298hp. So If I gained 37whp/45wtq that's 335hp at a minimum which we both know is not right because there is a difference between whp and crank horsepower.

nice video. urg 2k for an exhaust, as nice as that exhaust is I'm not sure I could spend the money on it. those wheels need to be volk te37, that's the only thing your car is missing.
That is just cost of the Shockwave without the ART pipes. I used to say the same thing, people are out of their mind paying over 2k for an exhaust. I listened to 100's of youtube videos and said, not worth it. Then I heard it in person and I had to have it. I concur on the wheels, it is the last thing I plan on doing. I bought those wheels like 8 years ago because I hit a pothole and bent my OEM rays. In the midwest, I didn't know rim brands because in the midwest no one does. I bought those rims purely on design, then to find out Konig is generic. For 19's they weigh 21 pounds without a tire on, so they are not heavy. I now know what TE37's are from moving south and then out west, they are very sought after. I do not personally like them, but the style I"m leaning towards is WORK Durandal DD10.5 . What do you think? farm8.staticflickr.com/7119/13731759585_9db94074a2_o.jpg
Tyler Leonardi ....thanks for the suggestion. Not my style either and I know both styles you mention are popular. I am pretty set on what I want and it has to be a 3 piece rim with a stepped lip.
Nice video! Was it worth investing in the Motordyne MREV2? I currently have the spacer, JWT intake, Greddy Ti-C single exit, and off to the dyno in 3 weeks for UpRev. Just curious if I should look at throwing it on before the tune.
ducatikid848 .....not unless you have a rev-up motor is it worth it. The MREV2 is a torque monster. Do you have OEM CATS? You have to remove the CATS to make power.
Motordyne G35 I have OEM cats, yes. It’s my daily driver. I already have a racecar (full bolt on 300zx) making over 500whp. So I don’t really want another loud car. It’s already loud with just the single exit with res delete. And I have the 2004 G35, so no rev-up 😕
ducatikid848 .... badass! I always loved the 300zx, so you already know the tuning game. Yeah the MREV2 is only for the rev-up, so it will not do anything for you and be a waste of money. Have fun at the dyno!
Motordyne G35 yes, fairly familiar. Still learning new things every day about the VQ and tuning in general. Fingers crossed for 250whp. Put down 230whp with only intake and spacer; and that was without a tune
I bought a 5/8 stillen spacer for my 2003 g35 coupe, never installed it. Will it help me with gains or should I get a motordyne 5/16 spacer? Did you see a differnce from spacer alone? I really like the videos you make. You put alot of thought, testing and honesty. TY
the 2003 and 4 is 260 the 2005 and 2006 sedan and coupe are 280 up rev unless you gotta manual which is 298 think those look ugly and it sounds a bit weird modified but i guess if you want power you gotta do what you gotta do
Des M .....You need to do a little more reading and see how the HP varies from model year to model year. It's generally agreed (and performance numebrs bear it out) that the 260 rating back in the day was probably understated Sedans, stock for stock, are usually a tick (and I do mean a tick) faster than the coupe - there is a miniscule weight difference with the coupe being heavier by 50lbs. It's not anything to worry about in the day to day as a race would come down to the driver. 3.5 L VQ35DE 210 kW (280hp) V6 3.5 L VQ35DE 222 kW (298 hp) V6 (6MT only, 05-06 sedans, 05-07 coupes)
Motordyne G35 i found it on a website but im not sure whats true and whats not i cheaked my 2005 sedan and the muffler is pretty big and it looks different to yours proberly cause its a sedan
Great video. Really appreciate your meticulous documentation. Did the Injen CAI and NWP throttle body contribute to your hp gain? Did the new clutch (and I'm assuming lighter flywheel) contribute to your whp gain? Thanks for uploading a thorough and informative video.
When I installed the clutch myself, no I kept the dual mass flywheel with exedy stage 1 clutch. Why? Because the play in the dual mass flywheel is better on the gears in the transmission and my car in neutral does not sound like cement truck, spinning cement with rocks in it. Thank you for the feedback. I did not mention the Injen CAI for a reason. All my comments would be flooded with why the stock box is better. Well I did a data log and under full throttle the air temp on the stock box are 15 degrees above the temperature outside. On my Injen CAI, under full throttle the air temps were 2-4 degrees above the temperature outside. Colder air is denser, makes more power. It does as advertised. Here is the problem. People do not understand mods. The first breather mod you do will give the highest horespower results and all manufactures claim the highest horsepower results for their product. Once you do 1 breather mod, the next one will not yield the claimed results, unless it was the first mod you did. You don't add mods by the claimed horsepower it makes, because 5 mods are not 1 mod. Any mod after the first 1, will yield lower horsepower numbers as they work together to reach an overall flow goal. On the NWP throttle body, I noticed my throttle got way more responsive. Did the car get faster, I didn't really feel it.
If you need to make a claim, remove the mods. Then put OEM mods back on, make a claim. You will not have any trouble if you do this. Insurance companies, just like any corporation want an excuse to not pay claims; don't give them a case. I have a 160,000 miles, started putting on mods around 40k miles. Not one problem from mods.
I have a g35 and looking for an exhaust, is there drone and rasp without art pipes on the v2 exhaust?? And where is the purest audio recording of the exhaust
Calculated drive train loss (On given dyno) - 0.17785% Crank HP (Before mods) - 298 HP Calculated Crank HP (After mods) - 333.68 HP Calculated gains (After mods) - 35.68 HP So it looks like your making roughly 334 HP to the crank, a small ways far from 350, but still an astonishing number for a VQ35DE Rev-Up, as it looks like your making more power than a lot of modified HR motors!
350 is pretty modest I’m planning on porting the intake getting cai test pipes to x pipe with high flow mufflers 2.5-3 exhaust diameters with a good tune I’m planning to get around 400rwhp I have an 07 sedan with the rev up though maybe I’m being too optimistic 350rwhp instead of crank sounds more likely and also a better aiming point if the late model vq35de came with 298 I believe the hr in mine is 305 crank
@@bluezevil1305 that’s cai resonator delete with a tune? That’s what it’s seeming like to me that modest sound and performance is beautiful on 350s in my opinion at least it always feels like the steps in the right directions you know

One of the if not the most underrated RUclipsr in the platform! I love your videos, I currently have a Honda Civic and I plan on getting a g35 coupe very soon thanks to you 🙏🏼
Thank you!
Greg Gonzalez did you ever end up getting one?
I own a Honda Civic right now and I'm planning to do the exact same but I want to keep my G35 forever so I'm trying to find a good one that hasn't been abused but it's getting harder and harder these days
I still have my G35X since 2008 n only has 140,000 miles on it and still drives like a beast. This car is so bad a$$.I love it.
Dude I love my 05 I have limo tints so u know I’m throwing back shots after drinking all day by the beach lol
This might have been one of the coolest intros ive seen in a while. 😍
the condition of this car is absolutely nuts. i try my best to maintain my G as well.
Thank you!
By far best G35 mod video ! With Dyno results, Awesome ! Exhaust note is killer ! I guess i will start saving !
Thats two
When the engine blows? Goodluck! Mines at 245k LOL
haha.....yeah the VQ's are well documented to do 300k, so it may be before then. Congrats on 245k !
199,600 still running strong these are well built engines
118k, 2005 sports coupe
439k
Bukake Jack .....WOW, are you for real? 439,000 miles. Has the motor been rebuilt or is it still the original engine?
Beautiful car man! Your attention to detail is superb! I own a 13' Nismo myself and having 350hp to the crank from the factory feels good lol
I wanted the g35 as my "better" car but finding a stock one as clean as yours is next to impossible I decided on the Nismo but it did set me back thousands haha
nukexD .....Thank you.
I learned a great way to document the modification list on the car. I like your car a lot. Thanks for sharing experiences
My 2006 automatic G35 doesn't have a stamped imprint so it's hard to pin point exactly where to drill in order to avoid installing the clutch pedal at an incorrect angle.
so glad for u man u made me make the best decision for an exhaust... the shockwave🙏🙏🙏🙏
Brought receipts. Good man.
this guyxs vehicle record is the real MVP
bhahha.....thanks. The best record I have is this one right here, cop dash cam video of trooper of the year losing to the G. ruclips.net/video/TpltfuIT33k/видео.htmlm43s
LOVE how well you documented everything, awesome! Thanks for great video!
You make some top quality videos and have been spitting out all kind of information to a novice that just wants to buy a G35, congrats you just earned yourself a sub. Here before you hit 500k keep it up.
Tristen Baylis .....I appreciate it, thank you!
Best G35 videos on the RUclips. Really organized.
This dude is a total dork but at the same time all his vids make me go, "GIMMIE THAT!"
Will this work on my vq35de?
Everyone is a z fan glad to see pages like this still up been watching for a while I can’t believe I forgot to sub but got you now 🙏
Best sound G35 on youtube man. I'm impressed with your documentation too. I also use this calculation. whp / 1 minus the percentage of drivetrain loss = crank hp. For example, 283 / .8 = 353.75
Thanks a lot man!
I don't think this is correct, if it is my G35 Tuned HR is making 393.75 HP at the crank and it sure doesn't feel like it, my understanding is 15% drivetrain loss on a manual.
How do cars like these pass smog checks?...
Didnt know you could gain over 50hp just by changing exhaust. Great video!
And a spacer. lol
@@KenHMladin and a tune
im new to the game but I purchased a 05 g35 sedan with 134500 miles for 800 bucks from my retired navy friend. so far had to change my valve cover gasket and all 3 crank/cam sensors basic tune up and have to do lil more front end work but good lord this car runs hard without mods so im looking to add mods once im done fixing her up..nice vid by the way
Awesome video.
I was about to talk about the dyno too
That ATTENTION to DETAIL is CRAZY!!! I LOVE IT!!!! 😄😄👍👏👏👏
Thanks a lot!
Good gains from just basic bolt on mods. I wonder what cams and valve springs would do
Going on my “watch later” once I get money 😂 you know where I’m be
videos are always good, but why would you go hub dyno instead of mustang? the results to figure out the actual gains with new parts wont be the same. are you going to go back to the same mustang dyno to measure differences?
Thanks for watching........I moved from Dallas to Phoenix is why the change in dynos. My old tune was in Dallas on a mustang dyno and the tuner in Phoenix uses a hub dyno or dynapack. Changing dynos does not effect the gain, the gain is all that matters. Each run there was a baseline pull to measure the power before any tuning.
Mustang dyno gain: 24whp/35wtq
Dynapack dyno gain: 13whp/10wtq
Total: 37whp/45wtq
In regards to overall number, I figured the dynapack would read higher than a mustang dyno.
Are you some dyno expert? Obviously not, the gain is all that matters genius; not the dyno.
That beat at 1:53 whooooo daaaaaaam🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥶
You really take care of your car! This looks too clean for 12 years.
Richard Alvarez right ! 😭
Good editing and documentation I appreciate videos like this good knowledge!
I have this exhaust... sounds sooooooo good man. It puts a smile on my face everytime i hit the gas. But mine hasn't been tuned yet so idk where I'm at in terms of power
Is the shockwave exhaust in addition to Art Pipes or are the Art Pipes part of the Shockwave system?
Philip Moneypenny theyre separate
can't do anything with the engine in California now so I'm limited with my 350Z to just suspension brakes etc. there are a couple of cold air kits and shorty exhaust pipe they're supposedly carb but I don't know they won't ship to California so I I don't get that.
This mans whole car is mint, from bottom up.. amazing!
Your number weren’t off at all I have most of the Mods you have besides the exhaust and my dyno Came our around the Same 294whp 271wtq. On E . So if I was tuned to 91-93 I would be around 280whp and around the same tq numbers . Really great video on how far you’ve come !
Great job documenting your work and results. Your video was informative and enjoyable. Thank you.
Is the NWP Throttle Body worth it?
Hey bud I have an 05 G35coupe (non rev-up automatic) with a little over 107,500 miles on it and was wondering a few things I could buy/ change to increase my hp just to start off with. I’d greatly appreciate your input. Maybe just a small list?
Mathew Piwowar ....Check out my video on my Top 7 mods. ruclips.net/video/sDAiIT2qXRA/видео.html
For you, Motordyne 5/16th spacer. Motordyne ART pipes and Invidia Gemini exhaust is a good setup to start with.
I’d start with a manual G35 tbh 🤷🏻♂️
I wonder how this would do with a 3.5" or 4" intake. The extra volume may help our revups with high rpm hp gains.
Performance Mods:
- KW v3 Coilovers
- Injen CAI ---- down in front of the bumper
- NWP 75mm throttle body
- Motordyne MREV2
- Motordyne 5/16th spacer
- Motordyne v3 ART pipes
- Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 exhaust.
Did you follow up with this?
VQ35HR-.....en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VQ_engine
A new dual-path intake (two air cleaners, throttle bodies, etc.) lowers intake tract restriction by 18 percent and new equal-length exhaust manifolds lead into mufflers that are 25 percent more free-flowing for all around better airflow.
You are a VQ Aficionado my friend. Thanks for the reply. Enjoy that sweet G!
i had read amsoil is not what is once was and a lot of owners go with fuchs race pro s now?
J P your math is wrong
Motordyne G35 will do sir!
hey man i've just seen a couple videos of yours and they're really sick and have a lot of useful information! so i have the 04 g35 coupe with obviously the non uprev motor, so kinda makes a little less power. but i wanted to know what can i do to my g without having to turbo it so i can get the most power out it?! would you recommend the same performance mods that you have or would add or do anything different? thanks! keep up these dope videos!
Performance Mods I recommend for your - 04 G35
- Motordyne 5/16th spacer
- Long tube Injen CAI
- Motordyne ART Pipes
- Invidia Gemini exhaust.
Unless you have the 75mm throttle body a 3.5 intake is not worth getting. I'm thinking of getting the 3.5 inch intake by the administration and doing a dyno video on the gains. You won't see gains from this intake either unless you have all the other breather mods first.
My Current Performance Mods:
- KW v3 Coilovers
- Injen CAI
- NWP 75mm throttle body
- Motordyne MREV2
- Motordyne 5/16th spacer
- Motordyne v3 ART pipes
- Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 exhaust.
So if i follow ur mod list for my 05 sedan manual hopefully i should get these gains
Biggest problem with motordyne exhaust if you're not over 400 it's extremely hard to spitfire
Where you located. I'm in Cali Palmdale area. Let's link up. I have my 35. Clean clean & hitting 410 hp. I'm still building as well
You had plenty I’d rear exhaust video shots to read his license plate. He lives in New Mexico.
Why does the sound cut off after the Dyno clip
celis281 ......because youtube flagged the song for copyright so it was removed.
Out if stock for the Motordyne full kit
Are you running any foundation mods.. poly bushings, mounts, etc?
Motordyne G35 thanks for the info.. and yeah that'd be a good video topic!
Any tips on cracks for the dashboard? or where to even get a cover that fits perfectly..
Your documentation is amazing btw
Gotta love a black coupe....if you do go to turbos, I think you'll love it even more. Great video!
At 1:52 what is name of group and song of that beat?
What is the gas mileage on the car now
Say how many miles you do you think they can go ontill it blows ??
Intake, exhaust and tune
You are the man 🤝very informative 👏
Wet 100 shot until it blow, then build it, and more NO2, or turbos
Glad you did this video, people say I'm full of shit when I tell them my G has 340hp and its a de.
Well, not many people have rev-up DE's. Only rev-ups with the right mods can get there. It comes stock with 298hp. So If I gained 37whp/45wtq that's 335hp at a minimum which we both know is not right because there is a difference between whp and crank horsepower.
@@MotordyneG35yo what’s up broski put more videos out, sup with the G? I’m 45yr so yea I got life to deal with ain’t got time for projects like I want to but I do own 2 g35 coupes 6sp one is an 04 the other o6 I just got salvaged a new really hard to find now Revup motor cause it’s an o6 police auction find in my area so yea I have 2 of them now best car I’ve ever owned and I’ve been on to you channel from way back anyway man God bless you hope all is well! Newyork in the house!
Realistic prince range for all mods?? 🙏
broooo you gotta put a bbk on this thing, the stocks get so much fade so quick when you're pushing it
Can you give me info off your tires,i have 19inch rays on mine from a g37 and have goodyear but not happy, love your tread pattern.
Do you need tune to run the injen CAI??? Or can I install it and have fun?... I heard that some of them make the G35 stall so i'm worried 😥
nice video. urg 2k for an exhaust, as nice as that exhaust is I'm not sure I could spend the money on it. those wheels need to be volk te37, that's the only thing your car is missing.
What do you think? farm8.staticflickr.com/7119/13731759585_9db94074a2_o.jpg
they look nice. I'd like to have either the te37 or work emotion cr kai, I think they look similar to the oem rays wheels but "sportier"
Motordyne G35 i would go with enkei rpf1s or 2009-2012 GTR rims. Saw a few images and they looks great man
Tyler Leonardi ....thanks for the suggestion. Not my style either and I know both styles you mention are popular. I am pretty set on what I want and it has to be a 3 piece rim with a stepped lip.
Motordyne G35 can't hate on it. But I am Looking forward to your set of new rims!
Question : any feel for difference between using the spacer or using the full KINETICS intake??
TY
why would you get a smaller spacer ?
What was your original 0 to 60 times winstock versus now with all Mods and lap time if any?
the 2003 and 4 is 260 the 2005 and 2006 sedan and coupe are 280 up rev unless you gotta manual which is 298 think those look ugly and it sounds a bit weird modified but i guess if you want power you gotta do what you gotta do
Des M .....You need to do a little more reading and see how the HP varies from model year to model year.
3.5 L VQ35DE 210 kW (280hp) V6
3.5 L VQ35DE 222 kW (298 hp) V6 (6MT only, 05-06 sedans, 05-07 coupes)
Motordyne G35 i found it on a website but im not sure whats true and whats not i cheaked my 2005 sedan and the muffler is pretty big and it looks different to yours proberly cause its a sedan
The Zed is not dead!! My 2006 sounds and looks great and still stock. Dependable and plenty of get-go. Enjoy
Thought on a 2015 - Q40 mods that would keep car under warranty?
If you need to make a claim, remove the mods. Then put OEM mods back on, make a claim. You will not have any trouble if you do this. Insurance companies, just like any corporation want an excuse to not pay claims; don't give them a case.
I have a 160,000 miles, started putting on mods around 40k miles. Not one problem from mods.
I have a g35 and looking for an exhaust, is there drone and rasp without art pipes on the v2 exhaust?? And where is the purest audio recording of the exhaust
Calculated drive train loss (On given dyno) - 0.17785%
Crank HP (Before mods) - 298 HP
Calculated Crank HP (After mods) - 333.68 HP
Calculated gains (After mods) - 35.68 HP
So it looks like your making roughly 334 HP to the crank, a small ways far from 350, but still an astonishing number for a VQ35DE Rev-Up, as it looks like your making more power than a lot of modified HR motors!
Impressive
Do you think the plenum spacer alone will help? Or is there no point if I don’t get the mrev2? I have the motor as you
Hello sir I have a 2003 infiniti g35 and I'm thinking about a motordyne exhaust. About how much should I expect to pay?
350 is pretty modest I’m planning on porting the intake getting cai test pipes to x pipe with high flow mufflers 2.5-3 exhaust diameters with a good tune I’m planning to get around 400rwhp I have an 07 sedan with the rev up though maybe I’m being too optimistic 350rwhp instead of crank sounds more likely and also a better aiming point if the late model vq35de came with 298 I believe the hr in mine is 305 crank
I've got an 08 350Z HR. 317whp 275wtq. That's about 397hp at crank and about 344tq at the crank. I'm not even FBO
@@bluezevil1305 that’s cai resonator delete with a tune? That’s what it’s seeming like to me that modest sound and performance is beautiful on 350s in my opinion at least it always feels like the steps in the right directions you know
@@bluezevil1305 and crank numbers may be around 360hp 320tq unless you’re getting crazy drivetrain loss in that case you’d want to check on that but I doubt it
You get 20% drivetrain loss lol. Same formula he used. I honestly don't care about the crank numbers. I focus on what mine is at the wheels. 317 and 275 tuned on 93 using a Mustang dyno at RZG Motorsports
I have RZG 3in intakes with velocity stacks, custom 3in single exit exhaust with a RZG muffler, gutted cats, pcv delete, stillen grounding kit, slotted and drilled rotors, Motegi Racing Traklite 2.0 rims, 15in VMS Mohawks with 28.5in slicks, 3100lbs tuned on 93 by RZG
Hey man! Sorry if you said it in the vid. But who/how did the tuning??
Would a one piece drive shaft make a difference at the dyno on top of these mods ?
Is the car worth more than $2700 because of the binder?
I personally hate the vq sound but damn that exhaust actually makes it sound good
