Smallville wasn't perfect. It could've been better. Metropolis should've remained on the east coast and not moved to Kansas. Warner Bros. should've allowed the show to use whatever DC characters they wanted, including Barry Allen, Diana Prince, and Bruce Wayne. Warner Bros. should've allowed The WB to go forward with their original plan to have a Gotham-style show with teenage Bruce Wayne to run as a companion show to Smallville. And they definitely should have ended the Clark/Lana storyline after season 4 and not dragged that storyline out as long as they did at the expense of Clark's storyline, Chloe Sullivan, and Lois Lane, who were far more important to Clark's story by then.
I mean let's put it as fact... Smallville is the godfather of superhero shows.... No superhero show to this date has had 22 episodes for 10 years with an even more iconic intro song with the best Lex development we have ever had on small screen and big screen to cameos that weren't even forced like. I had no idea the Clark from the Smallville show flew, I only watched some episodes of the first few seasons, I was a child back then and I wasn't interested in Superman, now I am and this was really good.
What people love to forget about when talking about this scene is Annette O’Toole's delivery when she screams "Give me my son back!" What a perfect actress!
Smallville made the CW popular along with a handful of other shows in the early days and it allowed the CW to produce Arrow and what later became the Arrowverse. Smallvile had some good CGI for the early 2000s and this clip hopefully portrayed that.
Seeing this when it first came out was so hype. Season 4 is still one of my favorites. The entire season had such an awesome melancholic feel, what with them finally graduating high school and stuff. Loved it!
Even now, this scene is a pleasure to watch from a technical point of view. Clarke's flight looks good, even the late CW projects can't boast of such a quality job done.
As a child, I watched for the longest time not knowing it was from DC or Superman. When he flew and showed the S, that was one of the greatest TV moments for me.
What? Wow! That's must have been one heck of a ride. Did you notice some of the guest stars or background actors that went on to greater fame later in their careers? Like Ian Somerhalder, Alan Ritchson, Lizzy Caplan, Amy Adams, Paul Wesley, Tyler Posey, Adam Brody, Cobie Smulders, Corey Monteith, and Evangeline Lily. Did you recognize older already established guest stars such Christopher Reeve, Teri Hatcher, Carrie Fisher, Christina Millian, Joe Morton, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling and Jonathan Taylor Thomas? Did you know that ahead of time that Tom Welling never ever wanted to wear the Superman costume, since the show was supposed to be about Clark Kent who would one day become Superman? Even in the end in that last scene, he found a way around that.
Would it be cool if Superman and Lois ended up crossing over with Smallville at least one time in the future?? Like say a portal opens up and Clark(S&L) ends up going through it and ends up stranded in the Smallville universe and the two Clarks end up teaming up. And they use the opportunity to finally get Welling to wear the suit(Honestly any fears or hang ups he might have had about it before are probably gone.) What an event that could be.
Such a great episode and season! Really a turning point for the whole series. I love how later in this episode he says "Kal-El can fly. Clark Kent is still Earthbound."

@@randomname9758 yes but not in this scene. It took a few more seasons lol

Smallville was ahead of its time for sure
The best superhero series ever made. Loved this show
Miss the time that I waited every day for a new episode, enjoyed from every minute and didn't want it to end.. Everything was so pure and simple.
its just not the same anymore. all episodes come out all at once and half the time were watching our phones while the TV plays in the background, so you forget what you watched immediately. Definetely was a better time and better way to watch episodes back then
Oh how I loved Smallville. Sending massive love from Ireland 🇮🇪.
If you want to be technical his first flight was when he woke up from a dream floating I honestly don't know how I remember that but I do
And if you REALLY want to be technical, his first "flight" was as a baby when he was sent to Earth in that Kryptonian pod. lol
@@swedishshortsnout5610 his first flight without technological assistant then😂
Also flew in the tornado in season 1
I remember seeing this for three first time. My heart was uplifted and I got goosebumps I didn't expect it and replayed the scene 20-30 times over the course of the week.
The show that paved the way for all DC and Marvel shows from early 2000's onward. Still bummed we never got to see him in the suit though Tom did say last year or the year before he wouldn't mind donning it in Pattinson's universe if given the opportunity. I feel like that age difference would be a little drastic though but I'm sure it would work. Loved how powerful his Superman is too, easily the most OP him and Reeve's version by far. Also, when will Smallville be on HBO Max?

Starting to binge now 😁 My favorite superhero 🦸♂️❤
Still these days this scene still giving me goosebumps!
Still have all my seasons on DVD 😊
Good memories of a series for fans of Superman
When Clark returned to his normal self I remember him saying something like "Kal-El can fly but Clark Kent is still grounded." 😅
This day was long awaited by us fans of the series. Man how I love this show, it was the first show I watched ALL the episodes.
After this episode I thought it would be more common for Clark to fly, so I watched it for another 6 years and he only flew at the end LOL
I was so addicted to this show and bought the dvd and rewatch it multiple times. Clark and Lana fan!
I had no idea the Clark from the Smallville show flew, I only watched some episodes of the first few seasons, I was a child back then and I wasn't interested in Superman, now I am and this was really good.
Smallville will always have my deep love =)
What people love to forget about when talking about this scene is Annette O’Toole's delivery when she screams "Give me my son back!"
What a perfect actress!
Love Smallville! It's just a great show. Even now in the multiverse era it can hold its own.
I am a marvel fan and i love all the Marvel series but Smallville is the legendary best series ( superhero genre ) of all time. ❤️
The visual effects of this show are better than most of marvel movies in the past few years 😅
Thank you WB /CW - good times.
This show aged like fine wine 🍷
I remember watching this when it originally aired.
Same man ... same.
Same
This one and when clark faught bizzaro. In that one voice of the narrator.
" the season premiere of smallvilleeee"
Love this scene! One of my personal faves throughout the entire series!
Smallville made the CW popular along with a handful of other shows in the early days and it allowed the CW to produce Arrow and what later became the Arrowverse. Smallvile had some good CGI for the early 2000s and this clip hopefully portrayed that.
Saw this first couple weeks of 7th grade. Still holds up
What a time to be alive, watching this when it originally aired.
Such an awesome show!
Nostalgic
The best badass moment of Smallville Superman
Time to binge watch
Where can I watch it
Absolutely THE BEST! I had a binge watching a few months ago and I still think that Tom Welling is the one and only Superman for me.
Truly Epic scene FX still looks great
"What is it? - Bird? Plane?" - Easter egg is nice played!
the best superhero of all time!
One of the greatest scenes in Smallville.. I watched this show faithfully every week. I only missed one episode ever.
One of the best series of all time
I wish Kal-El could stay longer. Welling was amazing with that Kal face. His shifting between Clark and Kal is next level.
One of the all time classic show💯❤
Seeing this when it first came out was so hype. Season 4 is still one of my favorites. The entire season had such an awesome melancholic feel, what with them finally graduating high school and stuff. Loved it!
How I waited to see this Clark fly, bro... Apart from this scene, few were the times he actually flew. I was always waiting for him to fly 🤣
Yeah and he should’ve extended his arms when he first flew
“Somebody saaaaaavveee meeeee” 😂😂sorry
Even now, this scene is a pleasure to watch from a technical point of view. Clarke's flight looks good, even the late CW projects can't boast of such a quality job done.
There is a reason why this show is my all time favorite.
As a child, I watched for the longest time not knowing it was from DC or Superman. When he flew and showed the S, that was one of the greatest TV moments for me.
The scene is extremely awesome ❤❤❤.
I binged all 10 seasons in 1 year for my first watch just for the crisis on infinite earths cameo, among other shows, this show was an experience lol
What?
@maximusaurelius9906 I've Binged 6 seasons in 3 weeks. Lol one year seems like rookie numbers
🎶 Somebody save me 🎶
Nostalgic❤
man, I know is old but even the Clark flight is in a better shape than in some movies today.
0:05 Headphone and earbud users beware of the sound! You've been warned!!!
😢😢😢😢 👂 😢😢😢😢
I love this show!
Would it be cool if Superman and Lois ended up crossing over with Smallville at least one time in the future??
Like say a portal opens up and Clark(S&L) ends up going through it and ends up stranded in the Smallville universe and the two Clarks end up teaming up.
And they use the opportunity to finally get Welling to wear the suit(Honestly any fears or hang ups he might have had about it before are probably gone.)
What an event that could be.
Smallville Clark flight was like he had preejaculation problem that he only mastered after 10yrs😂
It will be either David corenswet or Wolfgang Novogratz
War auch nie ein Superman Fan. Aber Smallville ist meine absolute Lieblingsserie geworden. Und auch über 20 Jahre später ist sie das immer noch
The show that started it all 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Such a great episode and season! Really a turning point for the whole series. I love how later in this episode he says "Kal-El can fly. Clark Kent is still Earthbound."
Smallville was the blueprint!
The blueprint, the forefather, the proof of concept, that superhero TV shows could be done and done well.
Could you just begin to imagine having all that power. Would be something else.
