I miss Smallville! I still watch it today, on Hulu! I was in Middle school 4/5th grade! I loved Superman but I became a huge Fan! Someone told me to try Superman & Lois! I haven't tried any other superheros shows except 1 season of Gotham but everything else can't beat Smallville! Gotham was good til season 2!
As much as I love Smallville as it is, I do wish we got an episode where Clark meets Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince (Yes, I know about the comics, but I’m talking about the actual show and before any of them put on costumes).
God. The memories. I grew up with Smallville, middle school - HS to be exact. I genuinely miss the early 2000’s - 2010’s. That was Americas golden era.
I liked the idea of Smallville. I found the actual execution and telling of Clark's journey somewhat inconsistent and, at times, frustrating. They kept nerfing Clark's powers as needed to make him weaker than the antagonist of the week. He was capable of something amazing one episode and then incapable of stumbling out of his own way the next. I could not stay engaged with it. I wanted to like it so bad, but it just left me feeling disappointed too often. I just stopped watching.
not really , if he just bodied everyone all the time no effort Smallville would have died well before it did , and Clark always found a way , or did you choose to forget that so you can bitch !? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@timothyscott1951that’s the challenge of writing a superman story though. he IS capable of anything. so the challenge is to write a conflict which can’t be overcome by godlike power. a MORAL conflict, which needs a human heart to solve. that’s what all the most powerful superman stories do. you’re saying you can’t think of any kind of threat for superman to face except for a test of brute strength? you’re a lot like the smallville writers, then. same problem with The Flash. kept nerfing his speed. it’s like, the entire challenge is to create a conflict which couldn’t be directly solved by super speed! seeing a person just drive away on a motorcycle and barry just stands there watching… it’s ridiculous. it’s bad writing. you need to earn your obstacles as a writer. if a woman is falling from a building, there is NO REASON superman shouldn’t be able to save her, unless a train is being derailed or something. boom. that’s a choice, that’s a moral obstacle. we call that a dilemma.
Man i cannot wait for the new animated show! The only thing i have in the mean time is a podcast "Somebody Save Me" just came out and now i am reliving my childhood.
Smallville brought more DC comics characters than ANY DC shows, that is why it is STILL the greatest DC tv show EVER!! CW tv shows isn't EVEN CLOSE. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Miss shows being 20+ episodes and only needing a few months between seasons. Just wish we got more time with Welling in the suit. Also thought it cool we share the same birthday
For me this is the best way the DC heroes meet, feel very natural. Another example is Justice Society: World War II when Flash and Superman team up. I also like that the other heroes were kinda better than Clark in there respective powers and abilities even though Clark will or might surpass them in the future, it's thanks to them in a way that Clark got better skill-wise, since Clark was already good moral-wise thanks to his Father when he met the other heroes. Strange 4:57 - 6:05 and starting here 8:44 I've never seen the rest, huh must have skipped a few episodes. Also RIP Rest In Peace, Lee Thompson Young AKA Jett Jackson.
Smallville Clark was always a jack of all trades master of none. The meteor infected had the advantage of Clark's weakness to Kryptonite. Nearly all of the other superheroes were better than Clark in one or more aspects. Flash and Aquaman were quicker, Arrow and Cyborg were more intellegent, Zatanna, Fate and Hawkman all had magical elements, Clark is more vulnerable to high pitched noises so Canary has an advantage. Though I think all that works well, one of the things that make me ignore Superman stuff for so long was how do you make a good story if your hero has all this power.
@@laptopkulinux5465 Exactly this and what the entire premise of the show is about, seeing a young Kal El grow into being Superman where he later learns to harness all his powers, learns to control them, learns to overcome things like the Black Canary screaming at him. You see it in other Superman shows, like when General Zod comes to earth and needs to adjust to all the different noises and atmosphere, something Superman has already done by living here his whole life.
What I love about smallville is how they all meet with hostility and arrogance, each with their own methods of how to save the world, hell each with their own code. They way they where also better than Clark in their own respective powers, for example Wally when meeting Clark he proved to be faster, Aquaman better within the water, Super Girl better at being Super lol. From there meeting the Legion and Justice society? Insane way to add them all. But I enjoyed how smallville went from Clark being inexperienced and learning, to finding out other meta humans like himself in which they proved to be better than him within reason, to discovery future héroe teams and even the Justice Society to becoming finally Superman being able to practically take whole world and overall the god everyone likes to see him as. I would of loved for them to include Diana and Bruce in a special episode where they are the last to appear, and thus they fight it out till they find out Lex is behind everything and the three of them team up and defeat Lex, to later Clark coming up with the idea of the Justice league, and I would of liked Diana saying “Emo boy here might not like the idea but I do, who else is gonna be part of this team?” And then Clark gazes and a close up goes to his face where he smirks and says “I know a couple of people” and poof true conclusion
...nah, Superman & Lois is a better Superman show. And its produced by CW. But, smallsville was good for its time, it was just a bit to "soapy", same with flash and supergirl... too soapy. shows like Titans Superman & Lois present more action, thriller, to the point. Playing out like a movie on a screen.
@@devontehardimon1792 I think he probably meant to make it look proper, here it looks like unintentional sexual harassment due to lack of instruction, it's pretty funny though
I thought Smallville did a great job in expanding their world by slowly introducing characters one by one who would all go on to become the iconic heroes we would know them as before bringing them together as the show's Justice League. It not only helped bring everything full circle but showed that Clark's greatest power isn't just his strength or speed but his ability to inspire everyone around him to be the best versions of themselves by encouraging them to do what's right in your heart. He truly is the world's greatest hero
@@whyisblue923taken ah I forgot about those they were awesome if I remember correctly they saved Lois and helped Clark Kent identity be kept hidden via the smoke screen
Well, I'll be danged...Reacher saved that girl from drowning. I normally don't follow DC comic movies but I happened to see this and caught ol' Reacher in his youth! :)
Such a tiny detail but that "i couldn't believe it" line showing in 4 words why Clark didn't save him and that he can still be stunned like anyone else.🤷♂️😇👍
Yeah, I know they had the "No flights, no tights" rule, but it is a little ridiculous that Clark couldn't fly until the finale. I mean, he knew from at least Season 4 that flight was a power he could unlock. Early if you could his dream floating in Season 1 and his feeling in the tornado in the Season 2 premiere. But he never did? Even when so many others could, including his own cousin. Heck, on several occasions, he did the leap tall buildings thing and jumped huge distances. I think they could definitely have let him learn to do it, but still had him not be Superman yet. As it is, it was just silly for it to take so long.
As a kid, i always ask myself while watching this "When will Clark wear the costume".....10 season, and no full view of the costume. Some moment that really hype me up - When he's floating - Gained Heat Vision - Fly accross earth while being possesed - Meeting other JL member
I remember back in the day watching this show and I didn't know who most of these people even were before smallville. I think the flash was the only one I had even heard of. The rest of them were all new to me and I was introduced to them through this show.
And now Jonathan has the world's worst case of whiplash! C'mon, Arthur, don't cop a feel while rescuing the girl. Victor, Man of Steel, not of Stone. If you're so tough, Clark, why did you dodge the second arrow fired by a guy with a ridiculous name? It's no wonder Clark didn't recognize J'onn as a Martian: the big green guy (J'onn, not the other big green guy) left his helmet with the fringe on top at home (Marvin Martian, anyone?). "That's what you get when you touch my stuff!" As hard as Clark was knocked back, I think he touched a little too much when they he and Kara clashed after that statement. That was rude, Clark! You let Dinah fall to the floor after crumpling against your invulnerable bod, so of course she's going to tell you how she feels about it in her own, special way. "You Legion people couldn't step in before I was almost cut in half?" "Arbadacarba!" (Think about who this segment was about, and then do her thing with the word above. LOL) For super-heroes who wear masks to protect their secret IDs, those JSA guys are awfully free with using their real names. "You don't even know who we are." Well, with them so casually tossing ther real names around, yes, he does. Joking aside, it was cool seeing the other heroes pop up every now and then in the series. However, the one person I waited the whole series to see never showed up: Bruce Wayne. His limo could have broken down in Smallville as a ruse to investigate all the weird goings on in town. After all, he's about Clark's age, and by then he would have already been making plans to be a crimefighter. He'd want to learn all he could about the strange people who kept popping up in case he had to fight them in the future. We also could have seen early versions of his later bat-themed weapons and gizmos, carried on an early version of his utility belt (inspired by Jonathan's farmer's tool belt). I was really hoping to see Bruce show up, especially after Lois first appeared.
I remember liking the first season and totally losing interest after that. It was nice to see this video and know that I really didn't miss anything....
Call me crazy or stupid but I would love to see a Dragon Ball show similar to this, episodes & seasons based on specific arcs, & characters being introduced like this, Goku doesn't know how to fly but run & leap distance, but can still ride nimbus, have Raditz be a central character like trying to persuade Goku to join him to take over Earth, trying to get Goku to bring back his "Saiyan Pride" & get rid of his human side by telling him you are not human. Imagine they have a young teen Goku meet Androids 17 & 18 & the 2 are trying to hide from the Red Ribbon Army & finding answers to their past, get found, brainwashed & whatever.

@@rickythemaddragonxiong8757 it wasn't even really copyright, it was DC and WB's dumbass idea that having multiple versions of characters on screen would confuse people, so whenever a character was planned to appear in a film that character couldn't appear in TV whatsoever, it's why characters like Deadshot and Amanda Waller were suddenly killed off, only now have they realized their rules are dumb and they've eased up on it.

5:50 John Jones (though I don't understand the Oreo Cookie that clark steps on)
6:07 Supergirl (kicked Clark's ass)
7:09 Black Canary (she kicked Clark's ass - hehe).

9:19 . . . (telekinetic powers) don't know
9:25 . . . (looks like mind powers) don't know
9:30 . . . (electrical powers) don't know
10:10 . . . Zatana
11:28 Hawkman
11:37 Dr. Fate
11:42 Star Girl

Aldur was just a villain of the week meant to show how powerful Martian Manhunter was, the Oreo cookie is John's favorite cookie but it's a obviously a different brand for copyright. The guy with the Axe is Persuader and you have Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad and Cosmic boy from the Legion
Thanks. Appreciate the info. @@strifenineteen
I was confused about the burning handprint from Martian Manhunter. I assumed it was Captain Atom or something.
The three you don't know are from the Legion of Superheroes, in the future. That was Cosmic Boy (super-magnetism), Saturn Girl (mental abilities) and Lightning Lad (lightning, of course). They are from the 31st century. Superboy joins the legion and has many adventures with them by time-traveling to their time. I had many many issues of the Legion as a kid.
Aquaman is Jack Reacher now lol
Oh Zatana.... So perfect. Physically, voice, demenor, just the perfect woman.
And played in Reacher so we had reacher as Aquaman hmm
I remember replaying 5:45 over and over when that ep came out. And don't even get me started on the end of "Run". These kids today just don't get how epic everyone of these moments were at the time. In the preMCU days this was all we had lol.

Would've been insane if Clark meets Batman, at least as Bruce Wayne
@ŢhĀAª ĞØÆŤ apparently Ian Sommerhalder was supposed to play Bruce Wayne, but something happened in production and they gave him another role
Almost, actually
@Corleone I wonder, what would’ve happened if Ian got the role of Bruce Wayne in Smallville, what exactly would Bruce be doing in Smallville?
Read the season 11 tie in comics. Batman appears.
@Chad Bane probably it wouldn't be christopher Nolan, but the first batman from the 90's
Holy shit I didn’t know Bautista was in an episode
Kane was too. They got a few of the WWE people to be in the Phantoms arc.
I think it was Bautista's first acting gig also
As much as I love Smallville as it is, I do wish we got an episode where Clark meets Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince (Yes, I know about the comics, but I’m talking about the actual show and before any of them put on costumes).
At one point they wanted to crossover Birds of Prey & Smallville so I assume we would have had Bruce before he died in BoP
Then Diana will not be in the show, she put on her costume years before the others were born...
God. The memories. I grew up with Smallville, middle school - HS to be exact. I genuinely miss the early 2000’s - 2010’s. That was Americas golden era.
Did better then what most of the multimillion dollar corporation nowadays
Once again it is demonstrated that the only thing tougher than superheroes are the clothes that they wear. o.O
This series was absolutely fantastic.
Looked like he got beat alot. He was totally pulling his punches.
Keep in mind they were pumping out 22 episodes per season for broadcast TV. No way to avoid lots of filler episodes.
not really , if he just bodied everyone all the time no effort Smallville would have died well before it did , and Clark always found a way , or did you choose to forget that so you can bitch !? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@timothyscott1951super girl bodied him
@@timothyscott1951that’s the challenge of writing a superman story though. he IS capable of anything. so the challenge is to write a conflict which can’t be overcome by godlike power. a MORAL conflict, which needs a human heart to solve. that’s what all the most powerful superman stories do.
you’re saying you can’t think of any kind of threat for superman to face except for a test of brute strength? you’re a lot like the smallville writers, then.
same problem with The Flash. kept nerfing his speed. it’s like, the entire challenge is to create a conflict which couldn’t be directly solved by super speed! seeing a person just drive away on a motorcycle and barry just stands there watching… it’s ridiculous. it’s bad writing.
you need to earn your obstacles as a writer. if a woman is falling from a building, there is NO REASON superman shouldn’t be able to save her, unless a train is being derailed or something. boom. that’s a choice, that’s a moral obstacle. we call that a dilemma.

Man i cannot wait for the new animated show! The only thing i have in the mean time is a podcast "Somebody Save Me" just came out and now i am reliving my childhood.
Is it still coming out
Smallville brought more DC comics characters than ANY DC shows, that is why it is STILL the greatest DC tv show EVER!! CW tv shows isn't EVEN CLOSE. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
In case of live action, totally agree, but don't forget the animated DC shows, they are still the best Superhero adaptations on the market (imho)
Bruce wayne😢
Don't forget, the Wonder Twins were in an episode too.
I completely forgot Black Canary made a appearance on this show
I love and miss this show. Watched as a kid. Loved it so much that even when I was grounded and in trouble my mom still let me watch the new episode when it aired.
Aquaman would grow up to be Jack Reacher. @1:32
I didn't know that every character in smallville with super powers are stronger than superman lol
Though I think all that works well, one of the things that make me ignore Superman stuff for so long was how do you make a good story if your hero has all this power.
he's not yet superman, a litlle closer to superboy, he not yet mastered his superpower
Miss Smallville, miss all actors, miss year 1996 , im just visiting here
I loved this show, I think I might watch all the seasons again
What is this show ?
@@jacobkautz2185 this is Smallville
I would of loved for them to include Diana and Bruce in a special episode where they are the last to appear, and thus they fight it out till they find out Lex is behind everything and the three of them team up and defeat Lex, to later Clark coming up with the idea of the Justice league, and I would of liked Diana saying “Emo boy here might not like the idea but I do, who else is gonna be part of this team?”
And then Clark gazes and a close up goes to his face where he smirks and says “I know a couple of people” and poof true conclusion
A nice fantasy, but the reality is that each of DC's Big Three operated independently for many years before forming partnerships and alliances.
Smallville is better than any current show nowadays, even the theme song kick ass!
...nah, Superman & Lois is a better Superman show. And its produced by CW. But, smallsville was good for its time, it was just a bit to "soapy", same with flash and supergirl... too soapy. shows like Titans Superman & Lois present more action, thriller, to the point. Playing out like a movie on a screen.
Smallville was good but Superman & Lois is the best!
I liked the show, but couldn't stand the theme song!

When Smallville had better super speed effects than Flash on CW lmao
I thought Smallville did a great job in expanding their world by slowly introducing characters one by one who would all go on to become the iconic heroes we would know them as before bringing them together as the show's Justice League. It not only helped bring everything full circle but showed that Clark's greatest power isn't just his strength or speed but his ability to inspire everyone around him to be the best versions of themselves by encouraging them to do what's right in your heart. He truly is the world's greatest hero

10:00: I've so wanted that to be a Legion Of Super Heroes movie since 1964! Will it EVER happen? No, they give us Super Pets instead. Really?!
6:08 "That's what happens when you touch my stuff." I love this. Laura Vandervoort is perfect as Supergirl.
This is the best DC series to date.
As a kid, i always ask myself while watching this
"When will Clark wear the costume".....10 season, and no full view of the costume.

"That's what you get when you touch my stuff!"
As hard as Clark was knocked back, I think he touched a little too much when they he and Kara clashed after that statement.
That was rude, Clark! You let Dinah fall to the floor after crumpling against your invulnerable bod, so of course she's going to tell you how she feels about it in her own, special way.
"You Legion people couldn't step in before I was almost cut in half?"
"Arbadacarba!"
(Think about who this segment was about, and then do her thing with the word above. LOL)
For super-heroes who wear masks to protect their secret IDs, those JSA guys are awfully free with using their real names.
"You don't even know who we are."
Well, with them so casually tossing ther real names around, yes, he does.
