Hey Jordan, you said you turn on and off lights via a IP Address. Good practice with smart homes is to then jump in to the router and find that device and tick the "Always assign IP to this device" as it likely stop working if router rebooted. It will be assigned a different IP.
16:30 As I mentioned to Cory one time not long ago, always know where the water shutoff and boiler shutoffs are before you start cutting holes in walls and ceilings! Could prove to come in very handy if you actually spring a leak and are panicking a bit, while a river forms in the room! 🦺👍

I would use a couple in my wife to be's house as she is partially blind and this would save me putting standalone speakers/ 3rd party bits of kit that would need to be installed with a bit of disruption and alterations to the two rooms I'm intending. With the newer style metal joist in the ceiling are they different to the wooden joist and the ceiling is all open? So you don’t have to drill through and try fish between.
The whole saw centering device should have been tool of the day. Other way of doing it is drilling a bit of ply / MDF the same size hole and holding it up, but I like the idea of this device.
if there is a flat above that one shown, will they also get the sound or reverbaration from the speakers entering their space. these lights could be a major nuisance for neighbours.
Cutting off the CPC? Bad. That’s the sort of thing you’d highlight when doing an EICR yet you go ahead and do it?! Wagobox, terminate then come out in 2-core to the speak/light thing. Extra stuffing gland in case you need to add another circuit? What a load of twaddle

Artisan Zuma Looks a fab product, I'd get them installed in my folks new home. They've just moved in without any radio/hifi as it was trashed in the move, so would be an ideal surprise for them. Just a learning curve for them to use a mobile device for music!

Get a couple of big Bluetooth recessed speakers, fish a feed over to them and job jobbed. Don’t know how you hit a joist when you’ve got a magnet, but you can always pop a brawdal up and have a feel around before you drill.
Been looking at these for the last year and nearly had a customer choose to install them last month. I was super excited as I was finally getting to see and hear them but the price changed the customers mind pretty quick… As for the amount she needed with splitting the room between 4 lumisonic and the 8 luminaires it came too roughly £3400👎🏽 Hopefully one day I get to install these on a job as my closest showroom for these is about a 70 minute drive unfortunately!

It isn't £375 per downlight, is it? It is £375 per speaker-downlight unit with smart control. If all you want is a downlight then JCC Fireguard can be found for about a fiver.

I used to have a L shape piece of metal coat hanger 50mm x150mm insulated at the end with a bit of tape,never failed.
That's how we do it in Aus. Bit of thick wire or coat hanger. Also knock to hear different density before making marks
