They freely share their souls with us needing the energetic exchange as much as we do. Your husband and sweet horses, Huckleberry and Tiny, are all the community you need to follow your purpose. We broken down old horsewomen live vicariously through you, remembering the days horses of our youth. Thank you for posting and sharing your horses with us. ❤
Life has already treated them like sh-t. They're run by helicopters, being injured (broken legs, necks), run to death, mares separated from foals, stallions from their families, then locked up and often auctioned to buyers who then resell them in other auctions where they're often sent to slaughter. I live in Nevada and what is done to the mustangs during roundup is a crime. They no longer allow the news stations to film the roundups because of what happens - a foal with a broken leg, an adult mustang with a broken leg, a mare who broke her neck being driven into the trap, a foal whose hooves were literally destroyed by the running and had to be euthanized - these are just a few incidents that were captured on film.

I am also happy to see that the horses in this auction are well taken care of, looks glossy and healthy and wellfed. And it is a good idea to show them in groups because horses are herd oriented and is happier and calmer within a group. I wish that that would be the norm at other auctions as well.

"He is a short little meatball that is a little bit apprehensive." I love that this is the description of your kind of horse. Just makes me admire you all the more.
Since my teenage years I have had love for horses, dogs, cats and animals in general. Dogs en cats have been in my company, horses have not. You video's about dealing with horses give me the feeling that I am experiencing what is going on in those horses over your shoulder, and you are stroking away their conditioning with love attention. Heart warming. Greetings from the Netherlands
Now why did I break out in a huge goofy grin when that first group of burros trotted out? But I certainly did! Thank you so much for taking us along with you! It looks like a pretty exciting, suspenseful and fun event to be attending. Horse people seem like a good kind of people to hang around with. I'm so happy to be vicariously enjoying these adventures with you and the rest of the Clever Cowgirl Fan Club here. Hey Everyone! 👋🏻
I love your videos, because you are so good at explaining so many important topixs around handling horses, and I love your reflections on how to handle horses. I have learned so much from you and you are a big inspiration to me - a thousands thanks from me! A funfact about me; I have an arabian mare (same colour as Ziggy) and a yearling after her named Ziggy (he is red thoug). Lots of love and greetings from Denmark! 🩷♥️🎠🇩🇰
I really enjoyed your covering the BLM adoption. Last summer my BLM heart horse had reached his end. He was adopted as a stud colt which I gentled and saddled and was used for trail riding. He was awesome. When anywhere, through anything. Mud, water crossing and the deadly spooky tree stumps, no complaints. After 22 years he left with a piece of my heart. That stocky bay roan was 😢 an important part of my life. Thank you.
Yes, I remember well when I lost my palomino mare. It hurt for a very long time. When we went out by ourselves I would sing to her. My favorite was This Old Man because it had 10 + verses. She was a beauty, very calm & kind.
That comment did mess with my brain a bit... I was a bit hungry too, so thought "meatballs" ?? "With mash and gravy"... "Where" ?? "I can only see horses" !!! Love from Norway 😅❤
Get the Burro CC!!!! Mine kills coyotes, Walked my blind horse around and saved my mare when she lost her mate. She almost died of a broken heart until Jimmy Jack showed up.
You are correct, you cannot take a donkey home. YET. You will, though, need to take TWO donkeys as although they make excellent horse companions, they very much appreciate the company of their own kind, and are often easier to handle as a pair rather than a single. Two donkeys broken to harness would be VERY useful, especially when you get a place of your own ...
Love all the information you gave in the video. The general public is extremely misinformed about the blm and adoption procedures and methods as well as requirements. I have 3 mustangs and they are amazing animals.
Out of all the horse channels this channel the woman is so kind and gentle. Zero ego despite.being an extremely educated and experienced horse woman. New subsciber.
CC, I admire your restraint. I’d be bidding like a fool which proves that I am that! As a retired farrier, I can’t help but admire the hooves on these animals.
I was at this event too but after the auction. There were many decent, promising horses still available for adoption. As horses and burros were adopted and loaded into the waiting trailer you could hear and feel the gratitude among those in the area. It was remarkable to witness. And yes there were a few that caught my attention but I didn't take any home. I have owned my Mustang for 10 years now and wouldn't trade him for anything. By the way the big gelding you see the guy riding is a Mustang and was absolutely amazing to watch. He literally held the ones loose in the alley while the guys sorted without a rider and by a gentle touch from his human moved enough to let the other horse pass through. It's always fun to watch a great partnership.
Gosh the green hills and blue skies are a tonic to see. It’s a rainy winter Sunday morning here in New Zealand, this is perfect content to watch with a coffee in bed ☕️
I'm old now but back in the late 80's when I was 'transitioning' out of managing a 1,000 cow dairy our hoof trimmer Toby Richner, was developing the freeze branding option. He'd done a video following young stock over a couple of years as the tatts grew with the animals. Then he took that video and his stats with him to our state capitol and presented it so as to legally offer freeze branding over hot iron branding. Bless his heart; the law was changed, and he started an entire line of employment for people IDing critters. I worked with him on other dairies as they took advantage of the new tagging system over ear tags, what fun. Good to see it's used for these horses. Gave new meaning to tag team as it just takes 30 seconds of pressure to create the tattoo pair. Way less pain and the info is then in white hair, growing larger with the animal. Great idea comes to fruition.... Love your videos. Lets us know what we never learned when we too were horse owners.
I want to remark on how well-edited your videos are. The sound is always good, the narration is clear, and you are so good at interspersing clips of other material when you need to. Plus, you add the right music at the right times. Just wanted you to know that these things are appreciated along with your excellent content, your extraordinary work ethic and professional knowledge. One of the most watchable channels on RUclips by far!
I was born and raised in Bozeman on a cattle ranch looking at the Bridger mountains. I watch you and end up with tears streaming down my face…. Wonderful podcasts. Thank you. My Dad raised American saddle horses and they were beautiful but not much good with the cows, so high strung. We all ro😮de them and managed ok Thank you agsin
As usual I'm late to the party but did a quick rewind and enjoyed this so much. If my dear old dad could've picked another life he would've asked to be a cowboy but he was born and bred in the North of England (a proud Yorkshireman mind you) and grew up dreaming of Mustangs while watching movies on the silver screen, because of him my childhood dreams of 🐎 pony ownership came true and watching this video today made me think of him. 😍 Those mustangs were in stunning condition and to see the people working with them so considerately was a pleasure. Sorry to go on but thank you for this glimpse into another world! 💕
You're right, Scarlett would be a fabulous English horse. Hopefully, she'll go to a home where the owner has a very active riding schedule to keep her mind and body occupied. Scarlett is gorgeous. You have such a great eye. They're all really nice horses.
Hard not to be a kid in a candy store at an event like this. Beautiful horses. Thanks for taking us along...hope they all get adopted and go to good homes. CC, you demonstrated great restraint today 🤭
I think bays are beautiful too! One of the many reasons I love this channel - it is not all flashy color and fad breeds. Yay for plain brown ponies! ❤😊
@SunnySunshineField Right ✅️ I don't understand people who judge a horse by its color. First real horse I rode as a really young girl, was a bay thourobred mare and her name was Chance , she was probably one of the best horse I ever rode. She did anything I asked of her. And I rode her bareback and when she would canter , it was like I was in perfect Rythem with her . She was a great horse 🐎 👏 👍 😀
I just loved your whole series on halter training Scarlet. I learned so much (even on top of everything I learn from every video you produce). I recommend the whole series, it’s so well done.
It's refreshing to see an auction that takes great care of the horses under their roof. I've been seeing emaciated, broken legs, and diseases at other auctions.
So glad I found your channel. The fact you even left the trailer because there were little baby birds was all I needed to see to subscribe. So selfless!
Big smile on my face when I seen your video pop up, hello cowgirl, beautiful horses fur babies❤ I always enjoy your videos no matter what you’re doing. I learned a lot about horses😊 thank you for taking us so long. I really enjoyed it.
In mid 70's, in Adelaide South Australia, I was fortunate to meet a Horse Trainer who saved Brumbies from Culling in the Victorian High Plains. Bub O'Donnell. Brumbies are Intelligent & Nimble, with similar Dexterity to Quarter Horses. The opportunity to ride & interact with these Horses was a Privilege.
This was the best horse auction video I've seen to date. Some of them are so sickening you can't even watch. I admire your restraint in not buying one of your several lovely choices. 🙂There's always the next time!
This was my first auction, thanks for taking us along with you. I appreciated your take on how and what you look for in your horses and even the burrows. Those were some beautiful Mustangs. 😍
Thanks for the information about the incentive program. Have often wondered how so many mustangs end up at Horse Plus Humane Society after being rescued from the slaughter pipeline. Thanks again for the information. 👍😔🙏❤️
Tuned in towards the end so will watch it from the start again. Hope the adopted Mustangs and Burros got forever homes with equine savvy committed adopters.
Oooooh! I love horse auctions. Best horse I ever got was a two-year old spotted Bay National Show Horse stud. No one in Cedar City, UT was interested, so I got him for $140. Took him to the vet down the road and had him gelded before taking him home. What a joy to work with and ride English.
I wasn’t fast enough typing earlier. Taller than six feet is essential. I have personally watch a bull sail over the exit gate at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo. And recently at the Sisters Rodeo another such event. They are less leggy and so I can totally see a “wildy” go right over a short fence. I’m an introvert too. I often avoid big events because I can startle easily and have a strong desire to flee. Many would be surprised because I am an RN and am able in that role to create ease. I also have a soft spot for fearful, introverted and high intelligence in animals. So many posts saying the same thing is interesting. I like it!
@@JudyHart1 I feel a bit sad over that retirement. It looked to me like he was just looking for a way out. One alley way over and he would have been in the right place. The bull I watched go over a gate picked better. They just didn’t get the gate open fast enough. Don’t get me wrong. I’m sorry folks got hurt. That must have been scary. He went right to the pen he needed to return too. The first time I attended anything stock and/or rodeo like, the person that went with me said, “pay attention, you need to be aware of where the animals are at all times because they can and will surprise you.” I’ve seen them push through a gate, go over fences, pull out of a handler’s hands. Kick, jump, spit, bite, etc. Good animal sense and environmental awareness are essential…
I’m a very new equestrian. And I go to a lesson later today! Seeing how you take care of your horses. Give them a good makeover is just awesome. I’m a Huge fan, I really enjoy your videos and your channel! Those horses were just gorgeous!
I love how gentle and carefull they are with the horses. I thought it was super stressfull and they'd just chase around the horses and be really forcefull and unkind. This was so nice to watch and I'm so hopefull for all these horses to become a great companion. I loved seeing this auction!
Oh my... I am kind of thankful I live on another continent...I would probably be a horse hoarder if I lived close... So thankful that I can watch through your eyes.
I really appreciate you taking me through your experience and sharing you wisdom & self control. I have searched thru the online 3,times at different locations. I always find about a hundred that I would seriously like to have. Your notes on confirmation are wonderfully helpful. I do like the stocky thicker legged ones, but sooo many beautiful kind face’s & eyes that tug at my heart. Hope to get a small herd of various ages. & colors. I Intend to get a few from each range like salt creek that know each other & a couple other locals whose names escape me now🤔❤
Sigh…. “If wishes were horses…”. I can’t find it now, but I saw a documentary of a Swede(?) who adopted 3-fillies & one colt from BLM, went through a very long and pricey-process of bringing them to Europe to start a herd. He did a great job of giving the Mustang-history, speaking to natural-selection, called our wild horses one of the best breeds nature could make. Nice to see these horses get global-recognition.
Watching this back-to-back from the *Very Expensive* horse auction really is a whiplash experience! I must admit though, the horses in this one tugged at my heart strings more.
I really like how a fence requirement is stated ... Horses can clear most things esp if they are scared , saw my mares field mate clear 6 foot and she was 7 months pregnant , had the whole yard running , scared the xhit out of us that day
I can only imagine the internal fight you must have with your love for the animals to begin with and to have to walk away without buying one. Good thing you do your editing after the fact or I think the disappointment would have been heard in your voice at the auction!
I am SO glad to see how the process actually works! I have a BLM Mustang from outside of Winimucca (sp?) NV. I live in Upstate NY. I got her from a friend who got her from the original adopter who lives in TX. It's a long story...but I feel so blessed to have this wonderful mare...American Honey. ❤️❤️❤️
I really liked that sorrel gelding in the first group of geldings. The one that only had a white sock on his hind foot. He seemed alot more calm than the rest of his group. And seemed alot more curious about his surrounding. More independent from the others in his group. Hope he got a good home.❤

There were some beautiful horses there, I actually like the dark mare you said had a mark on her leg, she looked balanced and seemed to go well trotting….I love your channel, it helps me to understand some of reasons to watch for with adoptions even though I’m unable to ride anymore and can barely walk, I have always loved horses since I first was on one at the age of 3 or 5, and also drawing horses since that age. I still love drawing them and like doing oil paintings of them….in my youth I was lucky enough to even have sold a few people wanted me to do for them. Others I’ve drawn for an Arabian breeder, Biggers Arabians, who wanted me to draw his stallion Taraza… I loved every detail of him, awesome stallion and the best well mannered stallion I have ever saw in a parade….Mr Biggers and him were one together. This was how I got started into watching the horse I rode and his abilities more….👍❤️🙏🏼
I think your personality might be a lot like mine. I spook easily too. I really don't like being around a lot of people but put me around 20 dogs or a barn full of horses and I'm in my happy place. I used to manage a kennel with 67 German Shepards and I used to train dressage horses. But I became legally blind in 2017. Between my blindness and PTSD I get the sneaking up thing. I love watching you (I still have 25% of my eyesight) you truly take the unwanted and give them love and heal their souls.
Many of us feel the same way. Being among groups of people is a relatively recent part of humanity and modernity. Before the use of fossil fuels starting with coal many of us worked with animals or in small groups.

Hellooooo CC Horse Lovers!
Hello!!!❤❤❤
Looks like I missed you while you were there, I took home 2858, the buckskin pinto mare!
Now that I'm thinking about, You sent me the auction video. Thank you! It was super cool!
I was shocked she went so cheap! What a good buy
Congratulations🎉So wonderful
I love burros.❤
I couldn’t have said it better myself 💫
And even an older lady like me learns lots of new things!
HOw cool!
Thank you.
I feel your pain, so sorry. We all know it will happen someday, but it always hurts like the first time 😢
Yes, I remember well when I lost my palomino mare. It hurt for a very long time. When we went out by ourselves I would sing to her. My favorite was This Old Man because it had 10 + verses. She was a beauty, very calm & kind.
I am so sorry for your loss
Now that the birds have vacated the trailer, it's on.
That sorrel with the flaxen mane and white socks was super gorgeous ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That was my favorite of the bunch as well. I literally gasped.
@@larrymages9304 Right, omg 😲 they were gorgeous 😍 💖 💗
"He's a short little meatball that's a bit apprehensive" 🐎
She knows what she likes 😂
That comment did mess with my brain a bit...
I was a bit hungry too, so thought "meatballs" ??
"With mash and gravy"...
"Where" ??
"I can only see horses" !!!
Love from Norway 😅❤
Get the Burro CC!!!! Mine kills coyotes, Walked my blind horse around and saved my mare when she lost her mate. She almost died of a broken heart until Jimmy Jack showed up.
They are so smart with a huge heart.
I love burros❣
@@patmair8888what are burros?(im dum)
@@Gracie_140 Donkeys.
@@patmair8888 ok thanks
Yes mules & jackasses kill wolves & coyote, anything that attacks your other farm animals
The stewards horse is so gorgeous, showing the newbies which way to go 💖
A mustang as well!
Yes he's beautiful.
“I spook really easy.” I know the feeling.
So happy you took us to this auction and explained so much about what is going on. So many beautiful animals.
CC, I admire your restraint. I’d be bidding like a fool which proves that I am that! As a retired farrier, I can’t help but admire the hooves on these animals.
By the sound of it, you are the perfect owner for sensitive horses. Thank you for your insights.
They are my favorite!
That tall black mare was gorgeous. Mr. Fuzzy burro, too.
Thank the heavens they don’t sell adult beverages there or you could have come home with half of them 😂❤
Yes for sure.
Like with 99 bottles of beer ?!
Hahah !!! 😅
Love from Norway 😊❤
Wow, I had no idea how these auctions worked. So interesting.
Yes! That mustang is from Stinking Water HMA in Oregon. He is sooo dreamy!
Gosh the green hills and blue skies are a tonic to see. It’s a rainy winter Sunday morning here in New Zealand, this is perfect content to watch with a coffee in bed ☕️
There were so many beautiful horses at this sale!!! Thanks for taking us along! I've never seen this type of sale. It was very interesting. ❤
Thank you for taking us along! Enjoy all your content!
We all ro😮de them and managed ok
Thank you agsin
Most of them seemed in good condition too, even "well-groomed", although that's doubtful as they're described as unhandled.
Hard not to be a kid in a candy store at an event like this. Beautiful horses. Thanks for taking us along...hope they all get adopted and go to good homes. CC, you demonstrated great restraint today 🤭
I love Bay horse's ❤️ My first horse was a dark Bay. I Think Bays are beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
No such thing as a plain bay! Love bays! ♥️
This was so interesting!! I hope it helps get some new adopters out to those sales!
Me too! Sounds like they may have more adoption events in Montana next year!
Those horses were beautiful!
That black gelding was gorgeous ❤
I just loved your whole series on halter training Scarlet. I learned so much (even on top of everything I learn from every video you produce). I recommend the whole series, it’s so well done.
I’m obsessed with wild mustangs at the moment. There were definitely some amazing horses at that auction. And the burros were adorable
It's refreshing to see an auction that takes great care of the horses under their roof. I've been seeing emaciated, broken legs, and diseases at other auctions.
So glad I found your channel. The fact you even left the trailer because there were little baby birds was all I needed to see to subscribe. So selfless!
I just got two robin boxes for the barn, hopefully they will use them this spring instead of the trailer!
Big smile on my face when I seen your video pop up, hello cowgirl, beautiful horses fur babies❤ I always enjoy your videos no matter what you’re doing. I learned a lot about horses😊 thank you for taking us so long. I really enjoyed it.
Thank you for taking the time to show us and educate people about the BLM mustangs..
‘Short little meatball’ - love that description!

Thank you!
This was my first auction, thanks for taking us along with you. I appreciated your take on how and what you look for in your horses and even the burrows. Those were some beautiful Mustangs. 😍
Some stunning Mustangs and some sweet Burro's ...I can't believe how cheap life is in the sale ring....I'd have bought the Burro with the bent ear...🐎
Thanks for the information about the incentive program. Have often wondered how so many mustangs end up at Horse Plus Humane Society after being rescued from the slaughter pipeline. Thanks again for the information. 👍😔🙏❤️
Ooohhh, I hope that gorgeous liver chestnut is your latest rescue 🤞
Me too, she’s gorgeous 😍😍🧡
Baby robins moved out so there is a trailer available 😂
I like it!
Yup, that bull from the Sisters Rodeo earned himself retirement from the arena after his stroll. Right into the crowd he went.
I love watching these. I learn so much! Thank you, CC.
I don't even have horses and live in the city of Philadelphia but I'm addicted to your channel!
All these horses are beautiful. I'd be so lucky to own any of them.
Good to see 👀 Huckleberry ❤❤
He looked happy to be at the barn!
FANTASTIC HOŔSE AUCTION VIDEO. TJHANK YOU. IT WAS AWESOME!!!🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉😂😂😂
what an absolute score on the buckskin mare!!!
& colors. I Intend to get a few from each range like salt creek that know each other & a couple other locals whose names escape me now🤔❤
There are some *lovely* horses at that auction.
Hi CC! This was a super interesting and informative video. Thanks for taking us along!
Watching this back-to-back from the *Very Expensive* horse auction really is a whiplash experience! I must admit though, the horses in this one tugged at my heart strings more.
Love learning the ropes about auctions and seeing it through your seasoned perspective.
CC, you make the best videos! Easy to understand, focused on the critters, interesting topics. Thank you!
I’m loving all the Burros. I was eyeing the little shaggy when you said you liked him. So sweet.
Thank you for teaching us about the auction process.
Watching this brought a tear im not gona lie im 58 now from the UK ,in my 20 s i bought ponies off the welsh mountains and penines and new forest and trained em i hate the term broke to ride n drive my life took a different tack an i havnt had a horse for a long time but i miss em so much i can smell em when ivwatch thanks hin from an emotional ol fart haha wondetful
Enjoy all your posts. God Bless You.💜😊💜
Some really nice looking horses at this one! I love a boring bay 😂
Adorable comment of the day “ a sweet face “ and “a kind eye “ . ❤😂❤😂
Being among groups of people is a relatively recent
part of humanity and modernity. Before the use of fossil fuels starting with coal many
of us worked with animals or in small groups.
I have just become aware of your channel and so enjoy watching!
Welcome aboard!
This is super interesting. It’s nice to see that the horses looked so good and healthy. I think you should adopt the “meatball” !
I was really hard not to scoop him up!
Nice!
I really hope that you find your own ranch for a great price!
That group with the 2 greys I'd bid on all of them they were my types of horses, the chestnut that was in the 3033 group really caught my eye
Great video!!! You've got to be commended for your show of self control!!! 👍🏻❤❤❤
