I went to a blm auction back in the early 90's in Apache Junction Az. The donkeys were all being sold for 10 to 20 dollars a peice. There was a 32 year old donkey, looked like an old man. We fell in love with him and we wanted him to live out his best life here in the ranch. Everyone was bidding so high in them we couldn’t go as high. I hope he is doing well and is spoiled;) thanks for sharing;)
Sometimes it's better to do a IA where we got two of our Mustangs from paid $185.00 for my Grulla mare and paid $300.00 for my husband's Gelding. Then we got a bay roan Filly for $125.00 and a wild Burro for $125.00. We just got a Sales Authority 12yr old Gelding for $25.00. You just have to know where to look for them and when. We are doing a Tip Challenge this year on MI. We can't wait. Thank you for sharing. God Bless.

That’s so awesome!! As you see the burros auctioned for a lot of $ because you only need a 4.5 ft fence to adopt one. That makes it an easy set up for anyone. It is sad though, most people are only doing the burros for money;(
I would love to adopt a mustang but the long drive to where they are auctioned is stopping me. I'm in New Hampshire.😞 I've wanted to adopt a mustang since I was 8 years old. Sturdy, beautiful, iconic horses.🐴

Because the UK is rabies free, I doubt these animals who have never been vaccinated would be allowed in. Even animals that have been vaccinated against rabies for years have trouble getting into the UK if their paperwork is off. The animal would likely have a long quarantine period and that might be stressful for a wild animal.
There all so beautiful. I felt so bad for that last horse. He looked so scared. Hopefully next time you and Preston will be able to get a donkey. This was interesting seeing how a auction works. God Bless
We are actually the adopters of the bay horse that was loaded up. He has settled in nicely. And is quite friendly. We are planning on training him and showing people that they are just horses like any other. Not the bad rep they get.
Try going to the regular horse auction in your area, phone them the night before the auction to see if any donkeys are listed. Down side is they may not know what is being brought in to be sold.
