    when I moved to America I was shocked by the ads for medications "Ask your doctor if this medication is for you" . B1tch! If I have to ask my doctor if I need that meds, I'm at the wrong doctor. My doctor should know from the get go if I need it or not. And if I have to ask for it I should charge the doctor for the visit because I'm doing their jobs

    • @stillhere1425
      @stillhere1425 2 месяца назад

      As overwhelming as the med ads are, they are a net positive. They spread the word about the HPV vaccine, educating the public that the virus is the leading cause for cervical cancer--not common knowledge before. There are HIV prevention meds we could only have dreamed possible in the 80s, and the frank approach of the ads to the idea of gay or casual sex encourages safer behavior as well as inspiring pharmaceutical companies to put money into developing new drugs for a formerly hidden market. Doctors can't know everything, and they're not immune to influence by sales reps, so if they suggest a medication, it's not necessarily because it's the best option. You might see an ad for a medication that potentially addresses your issue better than one you're taking. You can research it, decide to talk to your doctor about it, and you both are a little bit better educated.

    I thought Josh was going to say that the bunker people are going to suddenly start showing up, 10 - 15 years later, like some soldier who has been in hiding in the jungle since WWII.

    Really enjoy your comedy. I do just want to mention that Dave Calhoun is a terrific CEO. He was our CEO at the Nielsen Company and he more than double the value of our company by doing very savvy moves. The trouble with Boeing started long before Dave got there, and the troubles goes so deep with so many people all the way down to the personnel who build the aircraft. The biggest blunder, producing the 737 Max was already done before Dave. That plane was scheduled to be retired and should have been replaced by a new design but to save money they decided to Frankenstein engineer the 737 which should have never happened. Dave has had to make very tough decisions but he is honest, ethical and makes extremely good decisions. That CEO chair was cursed and it could've been a lot worse with anyone else.

    I've been watching Josh Johnson and his brilliant, insightful humor for awhile. From my earlier post:
    Such a brilliant, wise, lovable, young comic. Your humor hits the mark. Touché. Some political and social humor based on news and headlines can get stale and moldy, but your humor always mixes it up with other life experiences. It has sustainability. You are a great storyteller, with nuance. Your humor encapsulates our world and lives. It is honest and clearheaded. You see deeply and understand multiple perspectives, bringing your stories, characters, and scenes to life. Relatable and incisive. A comic's life is a hard life, but you do important work! We will keep an eye out for your tour.

    9:16 geez you got me crying again. I been having a weepy time of it today. Feeling not necessary at all. Thank you for this message. You’re beautiful. I appreciate you so much. I’m a sad 59 yr old contemplating my future. I’m angry because I’ve been employed my whole life, since I was eleven, and I’m not doing well financially. I’m was watching you to cheer up and instead the universe, god, the head Spirit, whatever you call it has you preaching at me. I’m humbled and grateful. This mattered a lot to me.. and I hope you remember that and keep,speaking from your humorous heart. It can save a life.
