Sultry film channel is notorious for this. Sultry film not only doesn't show her face but also hides her actual voice using AI. She even made a video of plastic surgery on Nayeon.
I blocked them so fast 😭 they’re literally the biggest content grifter in the kpop space idk why anyone takes what they say seriously
Just to tell you, that channel has now been sold (their backup where they posted about idols plastic surgery) so please dont hate on the new creator
She also made a whole video talking about Wonyoung’s surgery and most of the things she said or edited was just wrong

Jennie and Yunjin are some of my favourite idols and seeing them being hated for no reason really irritate me. I started blocking YT and especially TikTok accounts because the hate towards them is insane. Jennie gets more hate than Seungri and the other involved in the Burning sun ever did. She literally gets more hate than criminals

The Yunjin thing is dumb anyway because while yes, you can be disappointed she drank starbucks and unstan if you choose, but SO many other idols were also "caught" with starbucks (and pepsi/coke products) during that time as well yet received little to no attention for it... Meanwhile, I don't believe Yunjin ever was seen with the drink ever again after that. Also, at the time it was quite early into the boycott, I wouldn't be surprised if she simply didn't know until she was called out for it. I'm on stan twit/tiktok/youtube constantly and tbh I didn't know about the boycott until around the time she got called out for it. Not everyone is on the same side of the internet as you, nor are they as chronically online either. Yes, Yunjin is up to date with memes and such but that doesn't mean she KNOWS what's going on politically 24/7. She's in Korea, on the Korean side of the internet, she's not on Western tiktok 24/7 so she shouldn't be expected to know everything immediately as it happens. Also, she's a full time idol...? She probably doesn't have time to fuck around on her phone in the first place. This can be said about all idols. Kpop stans need to learn how to educate idols while also giving them grace until they are proven otherwise. Using a genocide for fanwars is so weird... It's clear the people who use it against idols in arguments don't actually give a shit about what's going on, they just want to use it to spread more hate.

Granted, It's completely understandable to boycott them for other reasons, but that's a personal choice and shouldn't be pushed on to others who may not be as educated on the topic. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure Starbucks Korea is a whole different thing from the ones in America, lol.
all of lesserafim was seen with starbucks in their vlog posted in january (although the video was taken during the perfect night promotions in november) people called them and she went and bought it again in march

I blame Hybe for all of this and those poor girls are stuck in the middle. Illit, NewJeans and La Serafin. The adults in the situation are not acting in the best interest of these kids. None of them are. They are getting unnecessary hate and this can affect their mental health. This is why kids don’t belong in K-pop.

Thank you for talking about this topic, I wish every kpop fan would think as logically as you do! The worst RUclips channel that comes to my mind would be "Sultry Film", I wish kpop fans would stand together for once and report them on this platform but also to the kpop companies like YG or Hybe. They just spread straight up hate AND lies for views, they don't even like kpop and their comments are full of locals making fun of it. Their favorite targets are Blackpink (and especially Jennie) but they hate on basically everyone, BTS, Twice etc.

I think people forget that Idols are the first victims of the K-pop industry and the beauty standards. We have seen so many idols be so insecure about their looks and it makes my heart hurt knowing that these people are so insecure. I think when we talk about K-pop idols getting plastic surgery we tend to accuse the idols but not the industry that they were looped into and have to cater to. And how these Kpop companies are the reason why these surgeries happen. Unfortunately the Idols are the evidence that these surgeries happen. We flock to blame these idols and borderline shame them for being a bad influence but in reality, these are the first people who are suffering and we don't realize that we lack empathy for these idols. I think we tend to forget that these people are humans too when we tell them that they are not being a good influence on little girls and I just have to say stop. These people have their insecurities and have their struggles within their own lives. The fact that they have to bear the responsibility of being a good role model when they are insecure themselves is such a hard task. The fact that so many people expect Idols to be the example of perfection is so draining. Pitting someone against the wall and telling them that they are now a role model can be so draining for both you and the idol. I feel like I cannot find the right words to explain how I feel.

First of all… You sound so mature for being so young 👏🏻 It’s very refreshing and pleasant to listen to you) Also, I rarely see someone talking so sober about Korea))) I’ve travelled a lot, like… really a lot and when I was researching Korea for the first time I was so puzzled by the things I kept hearing. Like everyone is skinny and stylish and healthy food and cheap medicine…. And I was like… there’s no way… There are no place like that in the world. And sure when I came to Korea I saw a normal country with its own issues and benefits. Regular people… I actually felt skinnier and more fit than most of them. Yet I had a company of girls with a bit of a fetish and a strong tunnel vision! They literally didn’t see overweight people when we were passing them by🤦🏼♀️ It was crazy! They couldn’t see the issues with food in Korea. They don’t have the knowledge of healthy food to begin with. And it’s dangerous to fetishized something or someone to this point. Nothing can be perfect. This type of absolute thinking leads to multiple traumas in life. Life is grey! Not black and white. We should learn to love those shades and the complexities.
I do agree that idols are above average to begin with and they should give you inspiration to better yourself at best but not obsession. Obsession isn’t going to do anything for you.

Just saw the video talking about that one plastic surgeon who went to ive concert in scrubs to get noticed and wonyoung glanced at him for a second. I came across that video myself, and one particular comment (of course since its wony and plastic surgeon) said that she is looking at him with hope for plastic surgery and this doc replied with "*more* surgeries". It can be not that harmless but in my eyes both comments felt backhanded and obviously very unprofessional for a doctor.

I agree with this. I have started watching this channel because I like this youtuber for putting out her almost unbiased commentary without being hateful. idols' very job is to be attractive. it is the main point of it.
knowing how to sing or dance is just secondary and could be learned, their main job is to be as attractive as possible that even if everything around them is manufactured, people would still buy them because they are so goshingly attractive.
im with you with the surgery.. i am by no means bashing on someone, but anyone of you seen those people that got surgery but had a not-as-pleasing look before the surgery? no matter what they do, the surgery they have just seems wrong.

companies doesnt choose their artists base on "how you would look like after surgery" they choose artist that already have the "celebrity/idol factor".
surgeries can enhance physical features, but that "celebrity/idol factor" and charm cant be artificially created.
physical attractiveness does not always translate to being charming or having that "factor".
its just how it is, theres no way to further explain it

I remember there was a Korean show i think of a woman who wanted p.s. to shave down her cheek/jaw bones to resemble a korean star i believe. After she got done with the p.s., and months going by, the team contacted her for results. The woman block them bc apparently she thought the surgeons scammed her and her cheeks barely looked like the star's. I REALLY need ppl to thinking p.s. is gonna solve all ur problems and u can easily look like said star with proper money. Those stars were just born with *that* face ppl swoon for and got it tweek here and there. No amount of money could give u that, bc less is more in most cases. But youll have to do a lot just to kinda match their beauty.

Yeah I’ve met the real life version of these accounts. I try to avoid this girl but honestly she thinks it is ok to fatshame and hate on peoples looks because they were mean to her. There is absolutely no way any of them have done surgery (under 18) but she is so hypocritical. I asked her why she constantly bullied this rude girl for her weight, and she thought that was an ok thing to do around my friend who has also been bullied for her weight and get’s called names constantly. By putting down one person for their looks you are unintentionally hurting more people who share those features. Even I felt a bit uneasy around her, being someone with thicker but still healthy legs ect. It felt like a personal attack on insecurities I didn’t even know were there.
