I have had the Sub70 699 irons for about 5 years. I'm now in my mid 70's so I'm testing the Cleveland XL irons with a lighter shaft. Sub70 makes excellent clubs.
Nice review. What shaft is in them? Did you go through a fitting process with them? I could see it flex at the top of your backswing. Nice trajectory with them. Thanks.
I believe I mentioned the shaft in the beginning of the video. I did not go through a fitting process. I had viewers that wanted me to review so I just picked out a set they had on hand. Thank you so much!
@@mistahshorthitter ok. I’ll listen to it again. Also will listen to the Takomo one too. I think you get more accurate and consistent distances from non-hollow solid clubs.
Great video and work through on the series of this set. Sub 70 is AWESOME! I play my best with my 699Pros. I have both the 639 and 659 iron sets. I like both. I have to be focused to game these two sets. The 699Pros, I can have more mishits. Which is on me. I can not tell a huge difference between the 639 vs the 659 sets. I do enjoy them both for pure strikes. They are like butter. Good and fair review. Review on the course and not in the studio. Again why you separate yourself from the others. Keep it up!
I tried those a few years ago. They felt amazing, but I didn't think I was skilled enough to play them. So I got the 699 Pro's. Now I play Cobra King Tour. If I had gotten these, there's a good chance I'd still be playing them.
Do you start your swing with a forward press? Just curious because I notice a slight move you do at the start. Plus, you’re really consistent, so I want to copy your take-away. 🙂
Great review. You shouldn’t use your right hand to set up on the ball. This ensures you set up with an open stance and typically left of the target. This is also the result of your shots along with playing a baby fade until an iron fits then you keep them left. Interesting how minor differences can be 5 feet or 15 ft putt
@@mistahshorthitter in this video, had you setup with your left hand to the target instead of the right, you’d be aiming more toward the target. Your shot lines seemed to go pretty straight excluding the over swing pulls. slight right and you’re at the pin
