2013 - 2016 was even worse. Not only Xbox shoot its own foot forcing the kinect on people and the "tv, tv, tv, tv,..." showcase, Nintendo also got out of Sony's way with the WiiU. Those years, full of remasters, microtransaction and loot boxes, are the worst I remember as a console player.
Ea bought respawn, they will never make an exclusive. Also now that they are making more money with the whatever nonsense battle royale game they made off of Titanfall they will never make Titanfall again.
In reference to the industry not doing great... Honestly for me, as stupid as it sounds, it was just the raising of the price from 60-70. It literally had the opposite effect of what they were hoping with me. Not only do I just think 70 dollars is too much for a game, it actually made me start thinking that 60 might be too much as well. I used to be that guy that loved to buy games day 1 and did it all the time. Now that they raised the price, instead of buying day 1 at 60, I wait for a steep sale at 40. You can argue whether or not its a good price, but this is without a doubt the effect it had on me.
70 bucks is less money than it used to be. 60 dollars in 2020 is worth 72 dollars today. 60 dollars in 2015 would be 80 dollars today, and 60 dollars in 2010 is like 86 dollars. Inflation is a thing. Sooner or later they would inflation adjust prices.
They just need to get on stage and say “everyone who has an xbox gets to install windows 11 on it” Everyone can now run steam and play everything on xbox. Everyone’s happy. Except sony.
Damn... that Idea isn't too bad, they don't even need to allow people to install windows 11 on it, they literally would just have to work together with Valve to make a Steam APP for XBox which is similar to SteamOS in appearance, it'd also fully fit their idea of no exclusives play on whatever you want, maybe add the windows 11 install as an extra ability in for people that want a cheap PC (or as an extra App as well, where you can just boot up and switch to Windows if you want to).
The living room pc. I'd be down for that. Microsoft doesn't have to compete with Sony they can make their own lane if they want and let Nintendo compete. The only drawback is even in 2024 a lot of people are intimidated by PCs and want that console like gui so it would have to have that option. Funny story, I successfully installed Linux on my ps3 phat back in 2010 and thought I bricked it because I never saw a command-line based OS. I THREW MY WORKING PS3 AWAY!!! Lmfao
That's reportedly what they're working on; a hybrid console/PC device that will play everything. I'm not sure how that will get past Sony knowing how tight they are with their exclusives and COD remaining multiplatform (which is kind of hypocritical), but we'll just have to wait and see what happens. For Xbox though, I think that would sell a lot of units and drive more people towards their ecosystem.
What kind of a bizarre statement is that? Lmfao Xbox has never been able to truly compete with the PlayStation outside of the ps3 era because of Microsoft and their stupid business decisions. And no one is going to put PlayStation ‘in their place’ 😂 they sell way more than the Xbox and there is no actual competition outside of a bunch of people online making videos about it
@foofighters70 You truly don't know what you're talking about. If it wasn't for Xbox, Sony wouldn't have updated their online, thier console would have been over priced, their effort to keep player happy would have die. Xbox one gave PS the chance they need it. Sony dictates the AAA space when competition is there. PS2 dominates Xbox, PS3 rides on that thinking they own the market, yet 360 comes in and sweeps until the tail end. Sony figures shit out end of PS3 into PS4, Xbox botches their generation and Sony dominates again but puts out quality titles. Here we are repeating the cycle but Sony wants to double down on a market they don’t have and alienate what made them on top again…Xbox just buys companies and wants to make gaming more accessible but not more great games you need to be on their platform for, in fact they want to bring those titles everywhere. Sony is lost and has lost the plot…Xbox has nothing out…fuck NINTENDO DO SOMETHING PLEASE
I believe that giving consoles some PC features would be absolutely amazing for them. I've picked up a steam deck recently and it made me realise this. Give them a proper web browser, let them run steam, let them run EXE files, allow mods, allow plugins and suddenly these once locked in consoles feel much more open. It'd also probably introduce some PC gamers into the console's ecosystem. Hopefully something like this is done for the 10th gen consoles.
When they tried forcing gamers buy their Kinect for profit at the launch of XB1 it pushed a lot of gamers away to Sony including me. Guess a lot of gamers forgot that
Not exactlly, simply because the deal for having a ton of games on both PC (and console if you have one for couch gaming) all while providing an actual good cloudstreaming service in addition (especially compared to the poor one PS has) that can be used mobile as well (or rather said out of the box on android based retro emulation handhelds) and is easy to use had been way too good for that price for a long time, not to say it had been an absolute steal compared to Sonys pricing that's just as expensive while offering less and seemingly no proper servers for even their basic services that often enough take ages to load or straight up don't work properly until yet another restart or fix.

I just respect xbox 360s era so much that I feel sad to see them throw in the towel so easily before sony. I think they need to realize that even if exclusives don't sell that well, they give you a prestige that is difficult to measure, but it sure does give long-term results.
Has Microsoft just washed their hands of Xbox? You'd think at some point they'd step in, order an internal investigation or something and possibly replace the leadership. But they're apparently content to just watch them go down the gurgler.

Xbox isn’t even doing bad, as someone who owns and plays on both consoles. Xbox is better. The only reason they haven’t sold as many consoles is because they became cool to hate, and everyone jumped on the bandwagon.
Why did it become normalized to pay for a subscription on consoles to be allowed to use your own internet which you pay for to play online? Are you aware with enough people this could be changed? Yet everyone is complacent with this????

@@zInsanityySony introduced psplus (the have to have sub to online game thing) with ps4. PS3 had free online play, Xbox introduced Xbox gold with the Xbox 360.
Just like most PlayStation games, but Xbox needed that level of positive praise from the industry to build an atractive catalog. Hi-Fi Rush or Hellblade 2 by itself won't do much, but a catalog full of games that were well-received publicly would definitely push people to Game Pass/Xbox.

Even if ur a Sony fan you need Xbox around just so there’s a level of competition, there was competition before hence you got games like god of war 2018, horizon, ghost of Tsushima ect, but if there is no competition Sony won’t give a fuck or even try.
That's why I never understand why people root for the other console to fail. I own all 3 and don't play on pc, just a console guy. Nintendo does its own thing, so you want the big 2 to compete, like Nintendo and Sega did, it's good for gamers, instead of Sony treating its "loyal customers" like trash and do and charge whatever they want. I'm more of an Xbox guy since they are usually the underdog, but yeah the gotta get their act together and bring us some good games
I think there are some essential details being overlooked here: 1. Don't look to console sales but to xbox game pass subscriptions; acquisitions don't need to become exclusive for the platform and bolster hardware sales, they simply need to be included at no extra cost on game pass whilst sold to other platforms at full price. It's about making game pass look like the best deal out there and to draw in new subscribers (growth is all that the division needs to show in order to satisfy the interest of shareholders). . 2. Microsoft is seeking to expand the availability of game pass and include it on Apple hardware, tvs, mobile platforms and they'd even expressed interest in making it available to Sony (not that it would happen but the gesture is what matters). 3. Layoffs are inevitable after an acquisition, as discussed, but it's more than just offloading redundant positions; new contracts need to be signed and there don't need to be hundreds of acquired, individual businesses under the Microsoft Umbrella. They'll disestablish not just redundant positions but deregister the companies that they have acquired as well, onboarding staff of those past companies into Microsoft on Microsoft employment contracts. 4. Sony as a corporation are not in a healthy state and their pricing of the Playstation 5 Pro shouldn't be viewed as any sort of show against Xbox or the market but should instead be considered as a need by a corporation that is struggling overall. 5. Sony hardware sales look fantastic on paper but the global scalping issue is well known and Sony did nothing to stop it as sales of their consoles, whether to genuine consumers or to scalpers, were still sales and that's all that matters for a publicly traded company. Sony needs to show growth in order to keep its shareholders happy and while the sales figures would look good for the shareholders, it's clear the Sony did not expect to have to price match the xbox series x during its initial release and there's enough information out there to speculate whether these hardware sales actually made a profit and whether that profit met Sony's expectations. Xbox hardware may be at risk but Xbox Game Pass is still very much flourishing, meanwhile the media narrative on Sony's success in the gaming space doesn't marry nicely with the company's general performance and there's reason enough to be concerned for their future as well.
Thank you for your intuitive insight, which I think correct by the way, but sadly, I think the intended audience here will be intentionally obtuse. Most here are still stuck in a 2010 console war mindset and are committed to being blind to what really happening in the market. Notice I didn't limit it to gaming, as the entire entertainment industry is going through similar adjustments. Physical boxes and media are becoming niche markets and the industries have to adapt or die. Microsoft has recognized this and has changed its strategy and I believe they're well ahead in the new race, others just haven't realized it yet. Consoles sales matter less and less as time goes by, and if others in the market don't adjust they will die, which is why PS is looking to make big moves info GAAS games to try to maintain it's profitability.
3:41 THATS IS A LIE. And 100% the reason I never bought an Xbox after RRoD, I sent mine in to get fixed , they send me back and even worse console with a different serial number and a different issue , and then tell me “you’ll just have to buy a new one” and literally that day I got my PS3 and never looked back. Microsoft is their biggest ops
Sounds like you happened to have a really bad experience with that. That sucks, I’m sorry to hear. Everyone I knew that had an Xbox 360 did pretty well with theirs sending it it, but I’ve heard a few horror stories. Me personally I bought one around the time it came out, and I was one of the lucky ones that didn’t have issues.
I bought an Xbox series X DAY 1 and it came broken… ship it back and wait a month was my option. No thanks! After being a lifelong Xbox fanboy and owning every Xbox console I switched to PC.
Dam that does suck. I had a great experience when mine RROD. They sent a guy to my door, gave me a new one and took my broken one away. Took like 3 days total.
We literally fixed 360s with the red ring in my grade school computer class, and got to keep the consoles after. Super simple fix but I know that’s not on you!
Xbox needs to name their products better. Xbox series x/s or xbox one X 🤷🏻♂... Those names are awful. Parents don't know which model to buy their kids. screw it... buy a playstation.
Because Xbox 2 didn't sound as good as PS3. Still though I think they need stronger names like the code names. Xbox 360 "Xenon" Xbox One X "Scorpio", Xbox Series X "Anaconda". Those code names are better. "Dude, I just got the Scorpio" sounds a lot better than I just got an Xbone X.
The only thing Sony has done really well is shore up all the good exclusives and have a history that guarantees them brand loyalty. Xbox was doomed after Don Mattrick and the team screwed the Xbox One reveal.
My favorite part of Xbox's stinker past couple years was Phil coming out and saying that even if they put out a bunch of 10/10 games, it wouldn't make the Xbox Series X/S sell better. Like...what??? That's literally EXACTLY why Playstation has been destroying them for past 2 generations. So out of touch. They had their one amazing product with the Xbox 360 and it seems like we're all realizing that was a blip. They're not good at making games or consoles. They just got super lucky in the 360 generation and then squandered it all. I grew up with the 360 and bought the Xbox One to play Halo 4, traded it in for a PS4 within a week. Still remember turning it on, thinking the new enemy faction was so boring and just felt like such a downgrade from fighting the Covenant. Such a stupid, stupid story, and then they just kept the failures coming with Halo 5. I'm just hoping at this point some other big company jumps into the console space because Xbox seems to have no idea what they're doing, top to bottom.
So myself personally I walked away from the Xbox brand around the time the Xbox One came out. For a number of different reasons. Primarily being the cost to be able to play multiplayer originally didn’t exist on top of the fact the PS4 had better visuals in my opinion. Now that I have had my PS5, that I bought from someone when you couldn’t get them in stores, I must say I’m not upset with getting away from the brand because they are 100% shitting the bed
People asking for people to buy an inferior product because they want Sony to have competition. "Oh I won't buy Xbox" but you go ahead and do it so Playstation doesn't screw me.
I'm a PlayStation guy. However, I used to be an Xbox boy... the 360 was one of my favorite consoles. I wish Xbox would right the ship. I also wish Xbox would start putting their games on every platform and the same for PlayStation. Timed exclusivity is fine, but it's silly to have a walled garden. Idk... wishful thinking I guess
I don't believe Xbox has ever had a road map, just look at their console names (XBox, Xbox 360, XBox one, XBox series) no consistency. If you asked someone who had no idea to put these in the order they came out, they couldn't.
I hate that the series S’s needs are crushing the series X’s life. They only needed one console for the gen. But Xbox’s issues are gonna leave us at the mercy of PS and Nintendos pricing. I’m not gonna follow Xbox/MS to PC only. Not gonna be a PC gamer ever.
Microsoft's console strategy this generation was horribly bad, it was pretty obvious from the minute they announced the Series S and X that it was going to fail.
@@YogiTheBearMan They can't drop the Series S as it accounts for about 75% of it's sales this generation, if they drop the Series S then they will have an install base that is less than the Wii U had.
Xbox isn't the one that made Concord, that priced the PS5 pro at 700, or that released a pair of virtual glasses without back compatibility of it previous version, or that had 7 percent net margin in it's most recent annual earnings release, yet it's the one that needs a comeback for some reason.
they're also not the ones that have their firmware on a revocable license for that matter, yet they somehow don't sell despite all the complaints about precisely that - it's almost like people generally rather pay for something they shouldn't want (exclusives to force people to buy a companies product, revocable licensing and so on) and then wonder why it's all they got.
No, Microsoft is the one that goes on and on about how the industry doesn't need exclusivity and then uses exclusivity as a justification to purchase more game studios for the IP. It's also funny considering Microsoft's own big titles are also in development hell. There's no word when Fable and Prefect Dark will be released. Or how about the fact that HALO and Starfield are nothing more than medicore messes? But wait there's the confusing marketing thats existed since the Xbox one and the dead weight around developers necks known as the Xbox Series S! Oh and lets not forget the $600 XBox Series X releasing this month. The only change? A 2tb hard drive. And then there's backwards compability. Sure it's better than Sony but lets not forget the fact that Microsoft could flip a switch and give complete backwards compability to ALL of their pervious console games but chooses not. Microsoft is so brave for allowing players to play 65 out of 1000 orginal Xbox games on the Series.

Bit of a diatribe here, guys, but honestly, Xbox has left me more blueballs than a husband with 5 stripper wives who don't let off.. I'm 37. Been gaming since Sega Master system 2, then Mega Drive. Even as a kid, one thing I've known: Gaming NEEDS competition. I was never much of a Nintendo player but I Always had EVERY Nintendo handheld console Specifically for Pokemon and Still own my handhelds. PlayStation 2 changed my 3 brothers and my Whole World.. Gaming had Never been so thrilling, so time consuming, so family/friend bonding through a mass of cooperative games. Then, in 2002, my uncle, whom we'd visit every other month, introduced to a lil old game called, Halo on his pc... My uncle had already been introduced me to games like Unreal Tournament, Red Faction & Half-Life by then so I trusted him with this new game he Insisted I try... Long story short, I am Sgt Johnson reincarnated!! Lol I urged my dad for WEEKS to PLS buy me an Xbox so I can play Halo. He kept refusing, but my dad has Always been the type to say no then surprise the kids some time later when he notices we've quietened down... He returned home after work a random afternoon with a preowned Xbox and 2 controllers and 2 games: Halo & Star Wars: Kotor.... I was in tears Dammit!! Dad wins the heart of his kids, again!! Once I was old enough and working to purchase my own games and consoles, best believe I started buying games galore and Nintendo handhelds and games.. Xbox 360 came out, and who came to the rescue, twice??.. Dad, buying me the original 360 And the 2nd edition after the infamous RRoD to the 1st 360 consoles. 360 gaming was probably the best gaming I've Ever had and will probably ever have being more of an Xbox gamer today due to its seamless online play, games like State of Decay I feel in love with 1st playing, Halo trilogy, Kotor1&2, GTA San Andreas but playing music from the Xbox hardrive through the "radio". Xbox means a lot to me, but I Still haven't upgraded from my X1S to XSS 1TB because as a customer, there is no value in it. I'm Still waiting on games teased back in 2020 that, once again, have gone into radio silence and darkness: Avowed, The Outer World's 2, Fable 4, Elder Scrolls etc.. But, Xbox and essentially, Microsoft's inability to safeguard the Halo franchise was a Colossal failure on their part and spelt the slow downfall. Xbox IS what it is today Because of Halo!! They Were firm competition to Sony because of exclusive IPs like Halo & Gears. And while Sony continued to go ham on the gaming front, Xbox decided to watch you in your home and focus more on TV and webcam, and yeah, they've Never recovered from that.. Even now, they churn out flop after flop as if they haven't been keeping tabs on Anything and then are pissd and surprised when games like Starfield and Red Fall flop. I've honestly had more fun playing indie and simulation games on Games Pass past 5yrs than AAA games, and I've REFUSED, on principle, to spend more than £40 on a game.. I still haven't played games like Hogwarts, Jedi Survivor, Elden Ring and much more because I wait for a huge sale.. I haven't played a good and inmersive AAA game since RDR2 and AC: Origins. I wouldn't be surprised if Xbox wimped out rather than fight and work hard to develop exclusive games again, like the cowards they've become. Just like with Spider-Man in the MCU, Sony will wreck everything if they become the Big Dog. An XSS 1TB is £300 here and even then, I'm waiting on games like Avowed, State of Decay 3, The Outer World's 2 before I even consider Klarna'ing that bih 😒
Avowed will be here soon, in 18th of February. Question is, wheather it will be better than Kingdom Come 2 or not because thats also a title from Feb 2025.
I have been a PlayStation fan for the better part of 18 years. Xbox has captured me within the last few months, and I don’t plan on going back.. just yet. I am loving my experience. Xbox needs to be a viable competitor again. They’ve got plenty of great acquisitions. I cancelled my ps5 pro pre order and actually bought the 2 TB Xbox, as I believe it makes more sense than the 5pro. Sony has made the pro to take advantage of rockstar fans when gta 6 comes out. I fully expect a ps5 pro “enhanced” gameplay before release. Otherwise, can not imagine why they’ve made the decision to make this console.
An anti consumer rental service isn't good competition and that's the focus it's just market manipulation taking the say and influence away from the consumer having them blindly support everything month over month regardless of the quality that's released on it
It's a cycle. Company has a good gen. Next gen they get out of pocket and lose money. Next gen they are more humble and remember it's about the games. Repeat
I think it will eventually just fully turn into a corporate gaming system with the occasional good game. I used to be a big Sony guy but PC is just the obvious choice now.
Sadly whoever they replace him with will be worse. Satya is the problem, he thinks everything should be everywhere so they can profit off micro transactions and subscriptions. It's what he did with azure and office and what he hopes to do with Xbox not understanding gaming is a completely different market.
To ensure the long-term success of the Xbox console, exclusive games need to be brought back into focus. Halo, Gears of War, and similar franchises should initially be available only on Xbox. After about three years, they could also be released on PC to generate additional revenue. This strategy could encourage more people to purchase an Xbox console, similar to how Sony successfully drives PS5 sales with its exclusive titles. Furthermore, Microsoft should refocus on game development, as it did during the Xbox 360 generation. Fans are eager for new Halo and Gears titles, but currently, Microsoft remains inactive regarding these popular franchises. They should also explore other new and promising IPs, avoiding the pattern of making every game a "live-service" title like Redfall. What about Fable which absent for a while now. Too little to less in that category. If Xbox sales figures were to increase, more developers would be less inclined to skip the platform. A prime example is the contrast between the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch. Due to the low sales of the Wii U, only a limited number of third-party titles were released for it. In contrast, despite the technical challenges of downscaling games to fit the Switch’s hardware, the platform has received substantial third-party support thanks to its strong sales performance.
Yep. After the 360 they couldn’t put out a good exclusive to save their life. Xbox one was a wasted console. the Xbox series x/s is just a gamepass player.
Oilbag Not that different? Maybe in hardware, but in games? Just look at this one year for example, on PS5 we got Helldivers 2, FF7 Rebirth, Granblue Fantasy, Astro Bot, Black Myth Wukong, Silent Hill 2, Stellar Blade,… and it was a slow year, meanwhile what good games released on xbox? They might be similar in hardware, but there’s just so much more to play on PS5.
"Big budget games not meeting expectations" Funny how that is used as a blanket statement considering the platform that this video is about is a primary culprit of that. And with the Before you Buys Gameranx is privy to this. Agreed that competition is ALWAYS a good thing for consumers, but given XBOX's small footprint in the market this entire generation, the idea that Sony will become complacent would've been a thing a while ago. Yet to see any sign of that when it comes to game quality. If anything Sony has been consistent in that regard. Granted, Sony is becoming a bit egregious like Apple in their hardware by selling essential accessories separately (PS5 disc drive), but the price of the PS5 Pro itself is warranted given what that thing is capable of. One is not gonna find another machine at that price point that can do such. Let alone the fact that premium pieces of hardware are usually sold at a premium: $650 Steam Deck OLED and the increased terabyte XBOX Series X being at $600, to name a couple. Also, Phil Spencer is (and continues to be) the reason why the XBOX gaming division is still a thing.
Maybe if they put out good games for once. That and their UI is boring. I haven't used my Xbox Series X ever since Palworld and Grounded was released for the PS5.
I varely have an ok PC and a PS4 but if I had the money that would go for a PS5 or to upgrade my PC and if i had more money i would get a Nintendo switch, difficult to spare money on an Xbox if i can play the same games on my PC
I left XBOX when the XBOX ONE came out. Too many bad things were happening with the console and with XBOX live as well (pricing changes with XBOX live family plan). The only thing I've ever missed was the multiplayer. Many, many fun moments had in Call of Duty and Left for Dead matches with my clans and online friends.

The amount of shipping costs i paid basically bought me a new 360 and i still had the same peice of junk that eneded up bricked when i didnt want to pay for shipping again for yet another red ring and they refused to pay for it for me. I refused to ever purchase an xbox ever again, they lost all my customer faith and i am a microsft shareholder and i would still refuse to buy an xbox ever again.
They extended the warranty of mine. So I didn’t have to pay for the replacement. It’s probably because you live outside of US and had trouble getting your Xbox back to Microsoft
"Sony turned into the type of company they hated 10 years ago" oh no, they already had been that way 10 years ago. Do you mean the skit about gamesharing that took everyones eyes away from the licensing agreement they make? Because with the PS4 they pretty much got the right to just straight up make it unusable with an update and patching it back would be the same illegal use as playing a pirated copy of a game (same as using a disc where the license for the game got revoked). Ironically enough XBox made a mistake back then and everyone joined over to playstation without even giving it a second thought or actually reading the differences, used to love the Playstation during the PS2 days, but Sony is the same company they have been 10 years ago, just overly successful (and weirdly enough given how many people complain about "ownership").
@@Unknown_Genius I agree and disagree with this statement and here’s why. 1. I agree that 10 years ago, they’re still a greedy company whose full intent is for control and a grip on the market. However, as you said, Microsoft was making just fucking horrible decisions at the time that were way more anti consumer than Sony. Not saying that what Sony did is okay, just a lesser of the 2 evils of sorts 2. When I reference Sony 10 years ago, my mind goes back to 2013-2014 E3 era with the plethora of new IP’s, SEQUELS and not remasters, and overall a very gamer company made for gamers. Nowadays I feel like they’ve gone super corporate I don’t think any conglomerate is free of having horrible or just downright petty practices. But the Sony I played in the 2013-2014 era, is far FAR different from the Sony today. Just how I feel.
It's over with... Now that Xbox is getting out of the picture, Sony is gonna get out of control... Have yall seen the price of 1st party Playstation games, they really think they Nintendo out here😂😂 Competition is Good!!!!
How to make Xbox *LEAGUES* better. 1. Make Minecraft mod compatible and stop trying to gatekeep “addons” so hard. (Nobody cares about the stupid Minecraft shop) 2. Bring back the goddamn War for Cybertron games!
I understand people are dissapointed. From my perspective, as a father of 2, with couple of hours per week to play, my series s is perfect. Got it for 200e basically, 1st year i got gamepass, when that ended, i bought like 10 games on new year sale, most for dirt cheap (all brilliant titles, like cyberpunk, witcher 3, rdr2, metro series, so on...), its september now and i finished cyberpunk and playing rdr2😂. So, im basically good for another year. Best purchase ever
I'd say 85% of my time is spent on working - education - relationship. that gives me about 1 - 2 hours a day to spend however I want. Cyber Punk at 50+ hours would cover my entertainment for a couple of months easy.
I feel like if they made xbox core cheaper I would pay for that. I use xbox series x more than my playstation 5. I can just buy games that don't need online and play those like Elden ring ect. Playstation is just for the exclusive games and that's it for me. 😆
Let’s not forget, yea Xbox hardware sales compared to PlayStation show them as a “failure” but as a bussiness Xbox is still VERY profitable for Microsoft, yea maybe 10% max of total revenue, but the point is Xbox still makes money for Microsoft, they are not at risk at all of being shutdown just because they are “losing” to Sony, people gotta realize this
So with no Xbox, who has enough money to fill that market void? How much money would it take to defeat the PS6? Activision was $80 billion, so I think it'd take at least $500 billion, few companies have that extra money, I think it would actually take a country, like China, but they'd surely loose in court much worse than Microsoft. The FTC tried to block Microsoft saying it wasn't fair for consumer choice, but really they doomed Xbox, giving consumers less choice.
WHY I WON’T BUY A PLAYSTATION 5 PRO. 1. It has no disc drive. 2. They did little or nothing to upgrade the CPU. 3. The only thing that they did was upgrade the graphics chipset. Remember this is only a graphics chipset NOT a graphics card. 4. If you buy one remember that you are paying $700 for what is a discless all digital PlayStation 5. Tom Sisson

Same. I’ll buy games 2 years after release when it’s actually done
Same bros, I wait for steam sales and scoop em for 20 or under lol

@@uhuhyesm435 70 bucks is a lot. Makes me think how good we had it with 60 dollar games. I’m looking forward to Black Friday.
Except sony.
haha now that would be a big announcement!
Damn... that Idea isn't too bad, they don't even need to allow people to install windows 11 on it, they literally would just have to work together with Valve to make a Steam APP for XBox which is similar to SteamOS in appearance, it'd also fully fit their idea of no exclusives play on whatever you want, maybe add the windows 11 install as an extra ability in for people that want a cheap PC (or as an extra App as well, where you can just boot up and switch to Windows if you want to).
Better yet, also let people install mac OS on Xbox. This will attract all those apple customers as well.
I need xbox back for healthy competition. I like my PlayStation but they need to be put back in their PLACE.
👆🏻
I believe that giving consoles some PC features would be absolutely amazing for them. I've picked up a steam deck recently and it made me realise this. It'd also probably introduce some PC gamers into the console's ecosystem. Hopefully something like this is done for the 10th gen consoles.

HiFi Rush wasn’t a hit, it was critically acclaimed but not a hit (there’s a difference). Just because you liked it doesn’t mean the world did
Just like most PlayStation games, but Xbox needed that level of positive praise from the industry to build an atractive catalog. Hi-Fi Rush or Hellblade 2 by itself won't do much, but a catalog full of games that were well-received publicly would definitely push people to Game Pass/Xbox.

It was a hit. Xbox said it themselves.
Also, considering that there was no marketing, dropped the same day it was announced and it was on game pass, it would have exceeded every metric they had

I kind of agree with that statement.
I love Xbox but I feel like Nintendo could compete against Sony in the hardware race if they wanted to.
@@codezero7981Nintendo hasn’t competed since the GameCube/Wii Era
I think there are some essential details being overlooked here:
Love this format for a change.. you guys used to do a lot of non-rank videos which were great
I would love an XBOX Series X if you could pop in a physical disc and play with no internet required at any point
Poor customer service is one of the main reasons why I'll never buy another Microsoft product.
Another reason why playstation is more popular. Xbox, xbox 360, Xbox one, xbox series x/s. What kind of dope do they smoke when planning these things?
Exactly, to us gamers we're used to it now, to non gamers it makes zero sense lol
Playstation 5?
Xbox 720 is needed
Because Xbox 2 didn't sound as good as PS3. Still though I think they need stronger names like the code names. Xbox 360 "Xenon" Xbox One X "Scorpio", Xbox Series X "Anaconda". Those code names are better. "Dude, I just got the Scorpio" sounds a lot better than I just got an Xbone X.
Falcon, this was the best take I have heard regarding Xbox in a long time! Great history and insight here.

Then. Its just a thing where games are more expensive
The only thing Sony has done really well is shore up all the good exclusives and have a history that guarantees them brand loyalty. Xbox was doomed after Don Mattrick and the team screwed the Xbox One reveal.
The rise of streaming and moving away from physical has really hurt gaming
not a console guy, from what i understood, the only difference between the two are the exclusive games and the game pass right?
Honestly I have a series X and I'm having a grand time.
I bought an xbox series x after growing up with the 360, its not even half as good. I intend on selling it for a ps5
They should drop the S when they release the X digital version.

Well, it’s the one that’s getting outsold by the competitor by 2 to 1 so that maybe important lol

I think Xbox is on the verge of a comeback. Not to the point where they'll overtake, but definitely to a point of lessening the gap more than anyone would've thought and gaining some consumer trust back.
Lol
I urged my dad for WEEKS to PLS buy me an Xbox so I can play Halo.
Avowed, Gears of War E-day, STALKER 2, Indiana Jones, and Fable should be coming out sometime next year or in a few months.

Xbox has been doing good stuff but nobody cares it feels like they would rather have PlayStation monopoly than have competition and options
An anti consumer rental service isn't good competition and that's the focus it's just market manipulation taking the say and influence away from the consumer having them blindly support everything month over month regardless of the quality that's released on it

XBOX has been needing a comeback every day for the past 20 years...
They should have never made it past the 360 era when they sold a blatantly defective product... I can't believe people still support them
To ensure the long-term success of the Xbox console, exclusive games need to be brought back into focus.

It's also a fact hardware is sold at a loss or a VERY minimal profit.
Maybe if they put out good games for once. That and their UI is boring. I haven't used my Xbox Series X ever since Palworld and Grounded was released for the PS5.
I think competition is healthy, I want Xbox to make a comeback as well (even though Microsoft seems to be giving up on the console).
I varely have an ok PC and a PS4 but if I had the money that would go for a PS5 or to upgrade my PC and if i had more money i would get a Nintendo switch, difficult to spare money on an Xbox if i can play the same games on my PC

@@TheGivenSoulHellblade 2 is heavy on story but light on gameplay, so not quite.

How to make Xbox *LEAGUES* better.
1. Make Minecraft mod compatible and stop trying to gatekeep “addons” so hard.
(Nobody cares about the stupid Minecraft shop)
I'm in the same boat. My Series S was a fantastic purchase for me.
I'd say 85% of my time is spent on working - education - relationship. that gives me about 1 - 2 hours a day to spend however I want. Cyber Punk at 50+ hours would cover my entertainment for a couple of months easy.
Video essay king 🦅
They won't make any comeback. The Xbox is dead. 11 bad years in a row killed them. It is how it is
Nintendo is king
PC is king.
I feel like if they made xbox core cheaper I would pay for that. I use xbox series x more than my playstation 5. I can just buy games that don't need online and play those like Elden ring ect. Playstation is just for the exclusive games and that's it for me. 😆
Let’s not forget, yea Xbox hardware sales compared to PlayStation show them as a “failure” but as a bussiness Xbox is still VERY profitable for Microsoft, yea maybe 10% max of total revenue, but the point is Xbox still makes money for Microsoft, they are not at risk at all of being shutdown just because they are “losing” to Sony, people gotta realize this
It isn’t a serious competitor to Sony… and Sony it’s at its worst now… if they can’t take advantage of that… idk man
SEGA needs to come back or Nintendo needs to make a powerful console again.
Psssst!, its not the console that's the problem.... its GAMES
Wtf is console agnostic?
WHY I WON’T BUY A PLAYSTATION 5 PRO.
1. It has no disc drive.
2. They did little or nothing to upgrade the CPU.
3. The only thing that they did was upgrade the graphics chipset. Remember this is only a graphics chipset NOT a graphics card.
4. If you buy one remember that you are paying $700 for what is a discless all digital PlayStation 5.
