Not all Chimeratechs. Only Fortress, because it specifically states sending a "Cyber Dragon" from field as material. OG Cydra equipped in S/T (so treated as S/T) is still a card that is named "Cyber Dragon" and it is on the field, which is why that works.
This is why if you had a S/T that could change its name to "Cyber Dragon" you could also technically use it.
Megafleet specifically mentions "Cyber Dragon" monster, which means the card must be considered a monster card to be sent. You wouldn't be able to do the S/T name change trick unless the S/T also had an effect that treated it as a monster card.
Technically Overdragon has "Cyber Dragon" but Overdragon sucks and it must be fusion summoned anyways so then you'd have to find fusion cards that could use S/T as monsters, which kinda doesn't really matter at that point.
I personally think Japan saw the 2 player starter set and went "No no no, this is how you get people to play the game"
The most important part is that it has 2-ofs and 3-ofs. Not only does it reduce the number of cards you have to learn, it's also playable with only 1 deck, which is great for newbies that might not know you usually buy 3.
Honestly, though. Not only did they get a fan favorite archetype (who doesn't love cydra?), but they also threw out multiples of handtraps and modern board breakers to show new players that you can make a fun deck viable. TCG needs to take notes.
This is literally an ocg only product. Why would the consumer unfriendly tcg import this over lol. The copium.
Why would they import it when they just released a rarity set with most of these cards in that made them beyond cheap?
Honestly I’d still say if we had the option to get this as well $7 for all that is beyond amazing. There’s no way it’d happen because the ocg is ant-consumer at every opportunity but sets like that being common would do wonders for the game

To be fair, when those release, those cards usually weren’t that cheap. And there’s normally several more good staples besides.
Fact is this is not something either the OCG or the TCG normally do.
To be fair, Dark Ruler is probably THE best going 2nd card against most decks. Maybe with the exception of decks that play on their opponent's turn, like those damn birds (Floo. I mean Floo.) or really backrow heavy decks.
And that's why i quit this game in 2018

Cyber Dragon was actually the second deck I built when I came back into YuGiOh. I really wish this had existed when I was building it but it's great that other players will access to this
When I first got back into yugioh as a teen, my two friends I mainly played with both owned cydra decks (among others) for some reason, but I never ended up building it cos I didn't want to shell out for the structure decks then still have to buy megafleet, infinity, etc. If this is ported over, i think I'm finally building that cydra deck lol
I'm gonna build Drytron personnaly, but if this is ported, I might build Cydra too (Plus the deck is very fun on DL)
Now master duel needs to release more and better built structure decks too, I swear they release 50 UR cards every month and 3 secret packs but structure decks are once per 4 months lol
SD are fine. They give you every card you need to play the deck and you can either buy or craft general staples from the shop for free. And it’s not like in the actual game where you might need more than 3 copies.
I mean, the Salamangreat SD was alright when it was released. I remember it being like a tier 3 deck (according to MDM).
I agree tgere should be more, but the swordsoul, salad, dragonmaid ones are good. I’d say even the DM one is good giving u souls and illusion of chaos for free.
As the name implies they’re structure decks, giving u the core, then u build the rest yourself. They’re just gonna give u 3 maxx c a nib and a kiss on the cheek for 500 gems lol.
I stopped playing master duel cross play cuz apparently "cross play" just means all pc players only use Branded Despia or Kashtira. Ya'll need to get a life on PC

The reason why Konami Japan is more "generous" in the OCG is there's way so many more card games in Japan. So there's much more competition in their home turf so they have to find a way to keep it, appealing And more affordable. Or they just end up folding to everyone else.
Not a valid reason we can’t push for higher standards here as well imo. Better products are a net positive all around short prints and bad product actively hurt the game in every way.

I think meta relevant cards should be affordable, like $15-20 AT MOST, with ofc higher rarity versions being available. But I also think there should be some collector cards that don’t have a place in the meta or in meta decks, but are like nostalgia cards, or printed in a unique rarity. Idc if the next dark magician card is like $500 a copy if it’s not playable in decks outside of DM and DM isn’t meta at all. I’d gladly trade our “super in every pack” style of packs for the ocg’s “several rarities for each card” style of packs. Fenrir was a rare in the ocg, an ultra in the tcg. There is no explanation for that big of a jump other than greed
Plus there's Vanquish Soul, which was rarity-boosted to all buggery when it came to the TCG for no earthly reason.

So the super rare printing which is the lowest rarity printing of ocg SP little knight is still $21 lol the ocg is still very expensive here if not the same!

Just a draw 1 and a fusion set... not that big of a deal
It doesn’t really do anything besides draw one. The only good target to summon from the deck is core, but that’s also the only good normal summon in the deck, so that effect doesn’t do that much
They will also release live twin tactical try deck along with eldlich. So we have 3 tactical try decks. Hopefully will be banger too like cyberdradon
Also I believe they have vastly different playstyles, so newbies are more likely to see the whole spectrum of yugioh decks.

As a MD player only (cuz i came back to yugioh when it came out) i have pretty much 0 TCG cards and if this came out in TCG i'd buy 3 of these in a heartbeat just to be able to play the game at a decent level with real cards

From what I've read, apparently, there will also be an eldlich and evil twin tactic deck too, if that many staples will be in just the CyDra deck, what can we expect from those...
I dunno how live twin plays, but having a control deck availible is cool (both to show you can play slower decks and let newbies try the playstyle). Since you only need 1 product to play the deck, you can try all 3. Maybe that's why it's called tactical try.
@@dudono1744the deck is pretty consistent with 1 card combos (6 starters and 9 ways to search the starters) and has a really small main engine which gives the deck plenty of room for handtraps.
The endboard is a pop 1, draw 1 with the rest of the cards being handtraps (usually unless if you're deciding to run their actual trap cards which aren't as good)

Yes! Cydra’s is one of the best starter decks! I got into yugioh a year ago and i immediately picked up Cydra’s because i knew it wasnt super meta but i could tell it had interaction that could still hold a candle and win games and its true that it being an anime deck is also what made me want to play it. Its really awesome seeing this being made and giving appreciation to Cyber Dragons as still a pretty playable deck. A new piece of support would of been a god send! But we cant ask for too much, can we? lol

Just spent 300 last night to max rarity and update my cyber dragon deck and snag a couple other cards to start going to locals for the first time since 2005 and woke up to see this this morning lmmfao.

Yugioh players lose their minds at a sealed deck product that contains more than one copy of given cards, when in a lot of tcgs that is the norm.
God this thing would be amazing to get cheap Maxx c for HAT format.

Therion is not unsearchable at all. You can banish clockwork night from the GY and discard one to search him :) So a good turn one play is to discard Clockwork night as cost for an effect and get a free negate out of it. Also if you're playing cyberdarkness dragon the monster Therion equips can be used to fuel it, so you get 2 extra negates for free
we've had so many different cyber dragon structures now lol, i remember getting 3 of the last one they did so i could get my first playset of impermanence
7:25 This is probably the biggest reason I moved to the Pokemon tcg. As garbage as Nintendo can be, they've been very generous with the card game. Holos get the multiple rarity treatment, while non-holo staples stay pretty cheap, we even get the occasional reprint when it's clearly needed, like Charizard ex.
I really feel for you guys though, y'all deserve so much better.
This is how a real starter deck should look like! I love that they do a Cyber Dragon deck for it, but sadly no new cards. Still, everything in there is a banger. I hope this finds it's way here.

Cyber Dragon just go OTK ooga booga that if learned do also have a combo line.
Live Twin is a start of a small simple 1 card combo that can fits many hand trap (pray they reprint like veiler here)
and Eldlich which is the control type, just hope to god they didn't print floodgates.
Ig Konami was serious when they said they were thinking of ways to get people into the physical card game at least we know for sure in the OCG. Do you think this is the reason they made this or is it because of Master Duel being soo accessible and F2P that they have to make the physical card game more accessible to convince people to spend some money for IRL play?

there was a shareholder meeting a while ago, and one of the questions was that Master Duel was a success that didn't translated into a direct OCG growth, so what they were planning to do?, well, here is the answer, better starting decks. because as we all know, started decks were always terrible, especially for a total noob that doesn't know that they need 3 to disassemble and deck build an actually playable below average deck without handtraps or extra deck.
i hope this kickstarts a new era of TCG products, because i tried to get into the game playing altergeist and looking online for cores and all the staples required to make a deck was such a chore and so expensive that i stopped halfway through. imperm was like 15 bucks at the time, other were like 10, 5 each... the whole deck was like $200. and it was mediocre rogue lol.
i would totally buy those $10 precon decks instead.
Both. I think there are so many staples that are just kind of annoying to get ur hands on through a site because of shipping costs, getting them all at once is nice.

I suggested making a product similar to this one to replace structure decks on the Yugioh subreddit a little while ago and it seemed like a very unpopular opinion. I can't imagine people not liking this though, seems like a very good product
They didn't consider that newbies would only buy 1 deck to try the game. Also I heard there will be 2 other tactical try decks (Eldlich and Live Twin), so if they don't like Cydra, they can try the other decks.

Watching this later. Im a big cyber dragon player. Its one of the most fun decks in the game and has cards that are fun and powerful while being a underdog.
Made me remember when they had a structure deck for utopia and TCG had them in a booster box 😂
OCG always have good products for reasonable cost. all they need to do now is to print some perfect LIGHT cyber dragon support cards
That would sell the set to some newbies. Konami would also need to release Live Twin and Eldlich support a bit after so that all people who use 1 of the tactical try buy boosters.
Dear Lord, please import this product, you can even cut down the Maxx Cs, Called By, and Red Reboot to finish the playsets of Ash and Imperm, and throw in another Thrust or something
Maybe not complete the playsets but add other staples so you have a reason to buy 2.

For context, this TD is insane value even in OCG. Maxx C and ash are like 700+ yen each, u get 2 of each in 1100 yen TD lol.
Not to mention all other things inside like imperm and called by arent cheap as well. Buying all these sepsrately will cost u like more than 5x the price of this TD.

Honestly, it feels weird seeing a structure deck containing three copies of literally anything. So, even from a ratio perspective, this is pretty surprising.
I would be happy if they changed the good stuff to 1 if it meant we could get all those cards
The list would need slight adaptations for tcg (say, change Maxx c for veiler and reboot for evenly or another feather duster), but giving 2-ofs and 3-ofs to newbies would help getting them into the game since they can literally just take the deck and play decently well. Having only 1 Naschter and only 2 Ash/Maxx C also incentivizes them to buy another one to get more of those.

I didn’t know they announced this but holy cow. This structure has some good stuffs for OCG lmao, I mean OCG usually gets some nice stuffs anyway. Almost made me wanna by it for a second. Especially the Live Twin one that they announced.
Sadly no one plays YuGiOh around where I live so I guess MD is still my thing.
The first time i saw this deck, i could't believe in my eyes...
It did have avenues to get in at affordable prices. The issue isn’t that the TCG does not. The issue is it’s not a yearly thing and only happens once every few years. So depending on when you get in you could just be out of luck because the product just might jot be there.

I think a set like rarity collection is good for the game. If it comes out like every maybe year and a 1/2 just to give the product time to be expensive. But I also feel like a year and a half isn't too out of the remote possibility for it to still be worth money and everybody to have a chance to play the game

This is for the OCG and the OCG has products and sets like this constantly all the time year round.
This will absolutely NOT be in the TCG and if it is it will absolutely NOT have any of the staple cards and most of the expensive cyber dragon cards will also be missing.
Konami does not care about the communities outside of Japan and will very rarely if ever throw them anything.

OMG, this is just a standard Cydra deck that I use in Master Duel. And for starters, this is great.

This Cydra Deck should be the standard for starter packs or 2-player starter packs (if they want to create another one). I like how they build the deck and make the deck ready to use even if you only buy this 1 copy. I like how they give the core of the deck in the best ratio. Standard structure is okay, but you cannot expect a newbie to buy 3 copies of the same product and ask them to build a deck from scratch with zero experience. And for the previous 2-players starter pack, they are only playable in a scripted duel.

Regulus is searchable by banishing Clockwork from your GY. You can send this card to GY with Cyberdark Chimera or Chimeratech Rampage Dragon.

I have low expectations when it comes to TCG. As long as they keep the core of the deck (Cydra and other machine stuff), this is still very okay. They can replace the good cards with cheaper board breakers or other extenders like Evolution End Burst or Cybernetic Overflow.
Yeah. I would buy this because cyber dragon and also because this is bonkers value. If they release this i will buy it in a heartbeat.

not a fan of the cyber dragons as they are too old for casual play, but this is the kind of product i was wishing they could make so, yes, we need more. more precon rogue decks please. (and it could be neat if they actually printed support in them)
