I remember seeing these! It must have been 20 minutes ago in the garage! LOL. I "fixed" it. No longer does it have the smogged 140hp 302. It has the roller motor from an explorer with trickflow 11R heads and a 240/240 .512 cam, headers and 3" exhaust. Its a T-5 with a hydraulic clutch. Indeed it does have Mustang II suspension. Not what came from the factory, but what came from Summit. I still have to upgrade the wheels and brakes and I need to swap the anemic stock oil pan and put in a locking diff.. Also I need to figure out the AC. I just finished redoing the power steering. I didn't see any parts I need from this. I did observe the code 3 rear end, which was uncommon. I just want it to look right and keep up with modern traffic. So if you get into the DFW area, maybe you will see it too.

I did not buy it & I saw the car outside a bar months later. Apparently the owner swapped it for two barrels of beer! Mechanically she was fine as she steered & stopped perfectly but the rust on the body was shockingly bad. Every panel including the hood & trunk were riddled with rust.

Whoa Nelley, 1977 and going to Heaven. Ahh, yes, the "Phony Pony". Nope, never liked these, you got that right. My uncle had one new and he too never liked it. Correct, Kozelski Ford, which today is Sykora Ford at 519 S George Kacir Drive West, TX 76691. It became Sykora Ford in 1984.
We got the VIN, we win: 7 for 1977 model year, F for Dearborn, MI assembly, 02 for Mustang base two door hardtop coupe, F for 302 CID V8 with two barrel and the rest is the production sequence. The Dearborn, MI facility assembled Mustangs from their start until the 2004 model year. No, as others have mentioned, the 1979 model year is the first year for the Fox platform Mustang. However, the Fox platform DID start with the 1978 model year (Fairmont/Zephyr) so maybe that's what you were thinking. Yes, those front ends were indeed the hot ticket for many years for hot rodders. Not anymore though. Looks like the First State Bank of Texas still exists, but possibly not that branch.
We got the tag, we can brag: 2R for Bright Red exterior paint, 52 for Dallas, TX sales district, 60F for Mustang two door hardtop coupe, AD for red interior trim, 08B for Tuesday February 8, 1977 production, 3 for 2.79:1 rear axle ratio, non-locking, W for C-4 automatic transmission, and A for factory installed air conditioning.
Whoa Nelley, this pony has always been a phony. The horse will soon be glue, and that's it for you. Mustang took its last ride and you can't save its hide. That's it, time to quit. Mustang II and it's through. Motorcraft needs a life raft. C-4 soon to be out the door. Going to be flat and that's that. Painted Bright Red and going to bed. Going to get squished and you guessed it, even in February of 1977, no one was even remotely that pissed.
