Asian snacks are just next-level. There is just no comparison. Snacks in the US is like, chocolate, candies, cookies, chips...that's about it. But in Asia there are SO MANY DIFFERENT KINDS.
As a Taiwanese, I relate to them 100%. They're all of my favourite childhood snacks too. The pudding is my must get every time I go back. Thankfully I can find most other dried snacks nowadays at Asian supermarkets where I live.
The pudding was the most intriguing thing to me. I've had some of the other things through snack crate subscriptions, and Pocky is easy to find in non-Asian grocery stores. But that pudding looked amazing. Hopefully they have that (or something similar) at one of the Asian markets in my town.

Taiwanese night market is heaven. I remember one night in Taipei I got a black pepper bun, bought a bootleg bape shirt, kept walking and found a sheet music store completely open at night and bought two Bach urtexts, walked back later, hungry again, got Lu Wei (a delicious stew 🍲) then just walked around full and happy
As a Taiwanese who hasn't been back home since the pandemic started, I can feel the same excitement as Brett and Eddy!! 🤩All the snacks they got are so good (have never tried the curstard cream cake though), and pudding and dried beancurd are THE BEST! You can actually get the dried beancurd here in Australia. I get it all the time from the Asian grocery store in Melbourne.😋
same here I haven't been back for a while, but I live in the u.s in an area with lots of asian / taiwanese supermarkets luckily and I can get all of this delicious goodness... the beancurd especially is my fav tooooo. so many good flavors too
The custard cream cake is really nice, for adults too not only kids, and they have few different flavours now but the original is still the best. You can buy almost all of the snacks they bought here in Australia, except for the pudding I haven't seen it anywhere. Now I reallyyyyy want to try it 🥺
Oh gosh, those snacks just brought me back to my childhood! Especially the 布丁/pudding & 蘋果西打/Apple soda (like instant nostalgia!) Can't believe you didn't get any 可樂果/koloko (twisty pea crackers), 小王子麵 or 科學麵/little prince or science noodles (a crunchy ramen snack), 乖乖/Guai Guai (they are like sweetened snack puffs, I always go for the coconut ones in the green bag) or 鐵蛋/iron eggs (hard to describe, like quail egg jerkey?). Oh also those little puff things by 義美, can't remember exactly what they are called right now, but they are just as good if not better than their egg rolls. Also didn't realize they made 蚵仔煎 flavored chips, that's kinda genius and something I need to pick up next time I'm in Taiwan!
Oh man, I used to bring stacks of 科學麵 home after every visit and restrict myself to eating 10 noodle bits a day so I'd have enough to tide me over until the next year...
bro the satisfaction of just pouring the remaining bits of the crushed up noodles into your mouth also i don't think i had the same brand of pea crackers but they always come in these tiny packets and you could find them in literally any asian household's snack bowl thing (idk what they're called)

I’m Taiwanese-Canadian, living in Tokyo now. This was so satisfying to watch because it is so incredibly hard to find any of these snacks in Japan. Oddly enough, most of these things can be easily found in Canada but not here. I bring 6-packs of 麥香綠茶 back in my suitcase when I visit lol!
Yeah I’m also a bit surprised that I can’t find much Taiwan snacks when I lived in Japan for a year🥲 There are some Chinese food supermarkets (which I love as well) but unfortunately not many Taiwan food supermarkets 😢 But thankfully you can find 黑松沙士 there 😂

Just today I went to check out a Chinese supermarket in Ikebukuro known to carry some Taiwanese products. They did have 黑松沙士! I didn’t find anything I was looking for but I happily brought home a jar of 大茂黑瓜 😂 I am also known to bring those back in my suitcase and my relatives make fun of me for it.

When I was living in the States the craving for these food was super real (and yes the Uni-President pudding was my childhood comfort food. 9:21 I went to Taiwan a few years ago, and I remember my mandarin teacher (who was born there) had stacked up these puddings when we were grabbing some food at 7-11. She told us to try some and it's unbelievably amazing. I'm so jealous I want to have those again ;-;
I'm lucky to live near multiple asian grocery stores that are always jam packed with everything, so I didnt stop eating the stuff I ate in Taiwan other than some local specialties. Apple Sidra is my fave soda of all time. This whole video was me just grabbing the same snacks they got and ate them alongside them.

My family lived in Hawaii before I was born so I grew up eating a lot of Asian snacks. If my siblings and I knew my Mom was going to our local Asian Market we would all beg to come with so we could beg her to buy snacks. 🤤🤤🤤🤤 I’m almost 37 now and I still get excited when I can go to my local Asian market to get snacks.

As a Taiwanese I gonna say the 統一pudding is also my childhood favorite… like the ingredients are not that great if you compare it with actual high quality puddings, but it’s simple taste and flavor are just so good lol

9:21 I went to Taiwan a few years ago, and I remember my mandarin teacher (who was born there) had stacked up these puddings when we were grabbing some food at 7-11. She told us to try some and it's unbelievably amazing. I'm so jealous I want to have those again ;-;

The Taiwanese convenient stores are always massive and is the holy resort, u can find anything there.
I'm lucky to live near multiple asian grocery stores that are always jam packed with everything, so I didnt stop eating the stuff I ate in Taiwan other than some local specialties. Apple Sidra is my fave soda of all time. This whole video was me just grabbing the same snacks they got and ate them alongside them.

My family lived in Hawaii before I was born so I grew up eating a lot of Asian snacks. If my siblings and I knew my Mom was going to our local Asian Market we would all beg to come with so we could beg her to buy snacks. 🤤🤤🤤🤤 I’m almost 37 now and I still get excited when I can go to my local Asian market to get snacks.
