I'm German and I remember the show where David Garrett achieved his world record. They actually had people listening in the background, while the show was still going on, if David hit EVERY SINGLE NOTE. So there were at least some fair requirements for the attempt to count. I don't know why they haven't kept that up for the next attempts.
Even when he played at a "normal pace" (the marked tempo), if you put it on .25 you can clearly tell that some notes are very out of tune. When he played 15 notes per second, I couldn't even hear the rhythm. There were skipped notes, it sped up and slowed down, and it really didn't sound like music.
My memory may fail me but when our boy David Garret did the record a computer checked the number of correct notes. With this that full-of-himself electric smileonolist had no chance at all
That's what I was wondering, surely a world record attempt at anything needs to be checked if it's accurate or not? I could play a single note and say it's the world record, if they don't check to see if I played it correctly then I get it....
@@madbull4666maybe he got rejected later. He just got famous for attempting to break such a record, got on, showcased his violin, and later got rejected for his attempt.
@@madbull4666 Since this video, the World Guiness Record has announced that they wouldn't take into account the fastest instrument players anymore because it had became too difficult to judge the accuracy of the piece being played. The entire category doesn't exist anymore.
Pretty much. I've done one of those draw Pokemon in 45 seconds challenges and the end product always look sloppy, even the Voltorb did and that's just a ball!! That's how him playing that violin fast sounds.
“if you can play something slowly you can play it quickly” thats like saying you can play moonlight sonata third movement if you can play the first movement all you gotta do is *play it quickly*
Sure he didn't, but that's what he meant. and it's pretty clear. Ffs. These two guys are bashing on a guy that's done nothing wrong. I myself is a pianist, and i get where he's coming from. To play an instrument at the right bpm. is one thing, but playing something fast is a whole new genre and skill to obtain. It's just like rap music. When playing Rap God by Eminem at 0.25x speed, you don't hear every word clearly as in a Amy Winehouse song, that's obivious to everyone. Their points are so invalid.
Uhhh... no. They make a good point. It's one thing not to hear all the notes. That's understandable. It's another when you: 1. Sacrifice musical beauty for speed 2. Sacrifice musical precision for speed 3. Sacrifice musical pitch for speed The piece became bland, nasty, an unenjoyable. They're not bashing on him because he's a celebrity who can play fast, they're giving criticism to an inaccurate violinist. I'm pretty sure he's a good violinist, but he needs to slow down and get the piece right first. Also, people who give criticisms are not haters. Haters bitch Criticizing is not bitching, but calling something out for what it is.
he's literally not even playing the correct fucking notes, the actual world record holder can actually play in tune. that's like rap god except the rhythm is wrong, there's no flow, and he leaves out some syllables because he cant pronounce a double m
Nìma 79 he was just holding his fingers are just swimming above the strings and only touching them every few seconds. He is then just master bating the violin with his bow
In analyzing the roasting, I agree that he deserved it.... but not so much because he may have had some deficiencies in his playing, but more so because of his attitude.... He didn't present himself as likable in the interview, especially with his bold statements (which were accompanied with a smirk) that he's the only person in the world who can do this or that. If you are truly good, you don't have to say it, you just show it. Any rewards and accolades will come naturally from the audience at large... but not from YOU.... We certainly don't see the greats like Itzhak Perlam, Hillary Hahn, or Maxim Vengerov saying that they are the best...they let their playing speak for itself...
Yeah, the way to help the wrist to recover is to do something that demands a lot of work from your fingers and wrists. Totally legit. I could have suggested something like Tai Chi or a few months physio but hey, he got himself a million pound diamond encrusted instrument. LOL

His playing does sound like the thing that inspired him tho: a fucking mess

First seeing this comment, I thought it was a joke. But nope, the dude ACTUALLY SAYS IT!

"Well, I was raised on Sonic the Hedgehog so I thought to myself, 'Gotta go fast.'"

thats like saying you can play moonlight sonata third movement if you can play the first movement
all you gotta do is *play it quickly*
He meant that if you're able to play it slowly, you can train it to be faster.
It's another when you:
1. Sacrifice musical beauty for speed
2. Sacrifice musical precision for speed
3. Sacrifice musical pitch for speed
The piece became bland, nasty, an unenjoyable.
They're not bashing on him because he's a celebrity who can play fast, they're giving criticism to an inaccurate violinist. I'm pretty sure he's a good violinist, but he needs to slow down and get the piece right first.
Also, people who give criticisms are not haters.
Haters bitch
Criticizing is not bitching, but calling something out for what it is.
he's literally not even playing the correct fucking notes, the actual world record holder can actually play in tune. that's like rap god except the rhythm is wrong, there's no flow, and he leaves out some syllables because he cant pronounce a double m
Heh I’m learning that piece
Its so sad that these guy's have just disappeared from us! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Come back guys, life is dark without you!

@@yuae5078 lmao
I love how they went from

So he fell off a bike and injured his wrist, and then his friend asked him if he wanted to break a world record and he agreed...what?
Yeah, the way to help the wrist to recover is to do something that demands a lot of work from your fingers and wrists. Totally legit. I could have suggested something like Tai Chi or a few months physio but hey, he got himself a million pound diamond encrusted instrument. LOL
@@MaryJosette80 xD and the fact that his friend just asked him "wanna break a world record" after he frickin injured his wrist is just ridiculous
