I just started AOE farming last night on my 23 mage after respeccing, (Had dungeon carries from 21-23). Found it to be super cake, lots of fun, and in the hour made about two gold from random trash drops, one gold from silver, and if the greens sell another ten gold. Not bad. Only died twice due to an unlucky rare that decided to spawn mid pull, and a pathing/reset issue.
Man you're very useful what you have to do is to anounce as many spots as you can because some are overcrowded and unreal to farm. But definitely you should keep it
The real trick is being on a server where this is even possible. On Bigglesworth, there's no less than 25-40 players in this exact area at any given time.
You forgot the MOST important aspect of aoe pulling as a mage: good latency / ms / ping If you lag, you're aoeing on hardmode. I envy how fast your slows apply. Leeway also seems worse (like your character isnt where you think it is in relation to the mobs because there's a ghost of yourself - your lagged self a few units behind- that they can reach even when you reset leeway). Probably not that exaggerated but that's what it feels like with lag Signed: -a mage with poor internet
From my experience: - mobs must be hit by blizzard before they de-frost nova or they will just walk through most of blizzard before getting slowed. Best would be 2 ticks while in nova (just like on 02:50). Pserver guides put blizzard in front of mobs which may be confusing and people having problems of mobs running through most blizzard - respawned mobs will not aggro straight away so you can move away from them - if you are blizzarding on an uneven terrain, like slope facing downwards you may have problems seeing the if the circle is covering the mobs - you can try to position yourself below the mobs or on more even ground. - in some cases you can pull with blizzard (like for quests with winterfall runners, camp of felpaw for quest) - mobs will start moving but still should stay in like 50% of initial blizzard after which should be in a nice spot for frost nova. Very fast mobs may not be ideal for this. Devilsaur: - watch area in which you are - devisaurs will often go through camps of other dinosaurs. You want to pull them away from them and before pulling know the direction in which you will be kiting - frost nova can aggro nearby mobs - plan spot to never ever hit a ooze or bloodpetal (small plant). If you have plant aggro reset as those can root and stun. Oozes are also problematic. Other dinos can be sheeped. - they move quite quickly. If you want to pull from behind you have to get close so your frost bolt won't get canceled due to range. - barrier before pull to have second one mid fight. They hit hard and you may be hit few times, especially if cold snapping frost nova or cone of colding and blinking away. - standard devilsaur will push you back so be sure to not be behind a mob
Love your vids and all the info, one question I have is what do you do about gear? Are there certain lvls/quests you look out for in your road to 60? Or do you just rely on drops/AH?

Try the dwarves in South barrens. In the pit outside it's pretty easy. There's a ring quest reward there that's not too shabby for that level. Pick up the quest on the road in South barrens. Also, don't have to deal with alliance!
I can't get this to work, the mobs resist frost nova way too much, they break away, spread apart, tons of people in the zone messing up my pulls. Just a terrible experience. I watched 3 other mages die trying this shit in Darkshire graveyard lol. Idk if it's the server i'm on or what, but shit is hard. Going back to dungeons for now.
Man I am having such a hard time trying to find the Addon your using that shows the CC Icons above the enemy nameplates at 4:45 . I love the clean classic UI that you have.. and that addon would really help me and not mess up the classic ui that i like
I must be totally spec'd wrong. My 22 mage's spells aren't chilling or doing any where near this damage and aren't ready to cast again this fast. I just started playing wow for the first time last week. trying to AoE has been the first confusing part.
First time i heard someone say not to stack spell power, i have a lot of frost spell damage increasing gear and I am having an issue of running out of mana before the npcs are dead. Should you use the rank 1 frost nova?
The grouping is the b*tch of all this. That's the thing I'm having the hardest time with. Ice block helps with this but then you're limited to 5 minutes.
Great vid. Question.... are these pull against elites? Also...what talent do I need to but a point in for the slow? When I Nova CC my mobs are not slowed. Nova ends and they make a mad dash to me. LoL. I have 2 talent points in approved blizzard so not sure what's going on.
Always your max rank as far as blizzard is concerned unless you need to keep the mobs slowed when you need to move, rank 1 in this case. You should avoid it at all costs and every spot except Mara "all snakes" pull can/should be done with your max rank blizz only.
Can shammys aoe farm at all? Or grind mobs effieciently? I have a 35 enhance shammy and at most I can take on 2 mobs at once. It’s very slow grinding. Any tips?
Super wrong about taking int over frost damage. All my gear AoE farming was frost gear and I never had troubles running out of manna. Blizzard cost a lot, you’d have to have so much int to get one more. Take the damage over the mana every time
what is the talent build, I am lvl 26 and still cannot pull this off. my blizzards arent consistently slowing and even if they do they are moving alot faster that they do in this video
Dont do it on your sever if its populated. Its cancer to find a spot you NEVER find an empty spot don't fall for this in this video normally there are 4885483949 mages fighting over 1 extra mob
You cant do this area at 22 and I'm tired of ppl using this as an example. At 22 alot of the mobs are brown and will resist your first frost nova and since you dont have frost snap at this lvl you are screwed.
i used arcane explosion for anything under 5 mobs at that level.. make sure you have mana shield on or frost nova them and get far enough so they cant hit you, but you can AE them still.
im level 23 but i have to cast 3 blizzards to kill the firts pull you were doing, even whit 3 blizzards the mobs survived and i have to kill them with arcane explosion, why i do less damage than you? :/
Rotate Rank 1 with 2 and 3 depending on mana consumption and what level you're farming iirc. Try it out and see the difference in damage versus mana consumption
@@trifilosgr toon is named Slicked on horde. About to hit 38. I'm leveling 1 to 2 hours per level while AoE grinding. Have about 50g and will have the rest for my mount by level 40 if I start using the AH. Selling BoE I've found will help.
Hi, What do You think about lvling in MARA snakes/turtles 46-53 and than in DMN/E ? it seems profitable, there is no problem with the occupied spots. Im at 50 atm, from lvl 46 it took me like 8h to ding those 4 lvls.
I'm 44 at the moment and planning to and do the maraudon farm. Did you found out worked well for you in classic? I've hear different stories from people about that one. Would love your input!

Im at lvl 28 grinding the same spot with 24 lvl moobs..... I am not able to aoe grind for MANA problems, with 3 blizzards mana is off....... Also using frost nove lvl 1 for mana saving but still...... grindind 1 at the time and full eating and drinking after each 2 moobs.... :(((

Try to avoid blink and mana shield. If you lack mana (try to get around 3.5x your max rank blizz mana cost) then try to update your gear, Shadowfang Keep is a paradise for clothies and the AH is the best place to farm gear (you'll be making the gold back in no time, I had 90g by lvl 37 without any good drops) xD

Pro tips. Be gnome, use int/stam gear, use blink after fn.

also important to keep an eye (or even "fish for") clearcast procs- and then use those for the more mana intensive spells

The spellpower ratio for blizzard is 7 spell power to 1 damage increase, not 15% of spellpower.
1/7 is ~15%.....

Avoid getting stunned by strafing. Think of it this way: “if they are in line of sight for frost bolt, they won’t stun”

Rank 1 all cc or pull spells. Max rank only blizzard and cone for max dmg. As he says the best gear for aoe farming is intellect and stamina.

Put points into permafrost also. Nova stops the mobs, blizzard damages and slows them (as does cone of cold respectively).

How do I manage the aggro distance? When AoE farming my mobs run back to where I pulled them from so fast it makes it hard to group
The aggro radius differs from mob to mob, maybe you just choose a bad one to aoe farm

I am sorry man, but pulling with frostbolt is a waste, you can just use the wand and it will be just as effective.
Depends on the pull, I'll r1 fb for the slow on closer mobs. That way they have the full slow.

22 aoe farm isn't faster than just questing, Hillsbrad is full of alliance and you have low hp and mana to do aoe farm properly
Aoe farm is very alliance favoured you preferably start gnolls in wetlands

Why are you using Ice Armor?, its better to use Mage Armor since then the mobs dont get different slow times and you can gather them easy.
you can make bigger pulls with ice armor since you don't take so much damage. which is a lot better

At 22 my max Mana is 1200 with int buff.. blizzard cost 320mana + Nova's.. I can cast only 3 blizzards and I am oom.. can't use arcane explosion

Clearly you've created a mage on a low populated server. AoE farming is impossible of highly populated servers.
Currently level 37 in about 2 casual weeks on Faerlina as a Undead Horde Mage. Doing just fine. :)

Why frost nova rank 1?
When i do this the mobs dont get slowed down, they run still. It makes it so hard to blizzard them. How do i fix this problem?
