Dez 2019! I tested most of these. ZF is 28-35g fixed depending on how much bag space you have. Can be higher with 1k+ g in bags. BRD is better with around 35+g and DM north is also around 28-35g per h. DM east with herb and satyrs (good gear needed) is the best with 35+g/h. That´s from a very high pop server 11k people and a week worth of farming!^^
I honestly thought mages were making way more money with their aoe farming. 30-40g per hour is the sort of gold I get even on my rogue farming at any decent farming spot in the open world. Doesn't matter if it's elementals or dragons in badlands, trash in epl, winterfall village, elementals in silithus etc. You name it. Only thing is that the spot needs to be relatively free of competition which can be at times difficult.
@@swarles354 Oh they make way more. Those numbers are with a twink, 14-16 slot bags and not much mage exp. Those are essentially the min g you will get no matter what. A main mage or good geared twink will make 70g/h+ up to 100g+. From faster runs, sell runs and maxed out bags.
Holy shit that Stratholme pull! That's the most impressive thing I've seen in a long time. But Essence of Earth from Maraudon? Nope, that's not in the loot table. You must've meant Elemental Earth, but it's not worth 15g/ea in any server to my knowledge. Still a decent addition to anyone grinding Maraudon, since the elementals and stones sell decently well. Also, the mobs that are being AoE farmed in Hearthglen are actually non-elites. The workers that spawn in the lumbermill, in the cave and right outside the cave are not elites, but everything else is.
Aha! Multiple of the streamers I watched had it in their title that they were farming ESSENCE of Earth, in Maraudon, and this video right here is mostly based on the different streamers I watched. Also I saw multiple mages farming the elites in Hearthglen aswell, but you are right there's a few farmable non-elites aswell. I assume the elites have better loot tables, since I saw people farm them quite often - however most of the elites were single target farmed (I did see some people single targeting the casters, then aoe pulling melee elites, which seemed risky but they pulled it off) ^^
I've tried/practiced this a lot. You need shadow and frost reflector, otherwise the mage mobs will slow you and knock-back your casts. Shadow reflector is an engineering 300 item that will cost >100g to buy, frost is slightly cheaper but not by much. I 'd love to make this farm consistent but honestly the method in the video requires multiple wipes to achieve and luck to not get chain slowed when you pull the first pack (which means you die). Congrats to the guy but it's sadly not profitable for your average player, until at least a bit more gear is available from raids.
This was a very nice video, but there was no point in mentioning Gracious farming strat. Why you may ask? Because he is a HIGHLY skilled mage, and before that clip you saw right there, he did a TON of resets, failure upon failure to finally pulling it off. Once. It wasn't supposed to be a farming method, but more of a personal challenge. I garantee you, any1 trying to do the same thing will only end up losing gold to repairbills and consumables. It is extremly hard to pull off and it depends on RNG alot. A minor mistake in a perfect 4-5 min execution will result in a whipe.
Or you can stand in kargath and sell portals for 50-100 gold/hour depending on time of the day And even better, azhara at the quintessense out on the Island om raid days, people easily pay 5 gold to get out of there.
Mages are my fave class, they are very fun to level. Most other classes have some base spells that never really change, but mages gameplay changes a lot in one playthrough, so I think they are worth it.
I would say it's worth it, yes, Mages are so good for goldfarming! It does however take some practise aswell, but invest some time into learning the class and you'll be rewarded for it :P

Jay Pallazola there aren’t. There’s no where near that many there in vanilla. Maybe in private servers.

I would say it's worth it, yes, Mages are so good for goldfarming! It does however take some practise aswell, but invest some time into learning the class and you'll be rewarded for it :P
If you want to do aoe farming in the few spots that allow for it yes. If you want the best single target farmer then go Hunter.
