+Niagara Fluke lol, exactly what I was thinking. I also was thinking maybe she was like "all these cameras on me, I can't be huggin this nigga to affectionately"
You could honestly see the happiness in his face when he recognised an old friend. His immediate instinct must have been to go hug her, ask her how she’s been, catch up on life. But he realised real quick the position he was in and that that wasn’t an option, hence the heartbreak. Really hope this guy got good and turned his life around. Underneath whatever bad he’s done, there’s a good soul.
Alot of emotions went through that guy's mind. The joy of seeing a childhood friend, then realisation of the current situation, then the shame of seeing the difference between them. Finally the reminder of what he could have been and someone truly remembers him as a nice person. Really hope this guy can turn around and stay out of trouble
I noticed the hug as well. Honestly, she strikes me as someone who is a bit serious and maybe a little reserved by nature. She probably hugs everybody like that..lol Another thing...just because she knew this man in grade school doesn't mean he is the same person he was back then. He could have stalkerish tendencies or may get a little too close. So, she still needs to maintain a certain amount of boundaries considering the position she is in. I think she handled herself well. Honestly, I think it was great of her to even acknowledge him, because she didn't have to.
“DONT LET US DOWN” damn! She’s seeet but not afraid to be tough as well. Real authority- loving motivating but not willing to let people off the hook from being what the could be.
She have giving him so much support to show up at his release. Sometimes in life things happens to us. Where we need to get help from those to get us back on track.
Dear KA: Everyone who watches this should be tearing up with moisture from eyes ready to touch their cheek; as we meditate with *meaningful* emotion: motivating and maneuvering this malfeasant mister into a much better mindset, as this is the guarantee of one less man going back to whence he came. His heart is growing out of his soul.
Being only classmates and for her to recognize him after all those years, I have to believe that he was a good kid. I'm rooting for him to now be a good adult and to show the good that she and probably others saw in him. He looks different already for sure. I don't think I could recognize any classmates from middle school. I don't even think I could recognize anyone from college. But that's probably because I didn't go to college.
@Shirl Zitting haha I know. I was just trying to be funny. But like you said she probably recognized the name and then she asked him and based on his reaction she knew it was him. And also based on that reaction, we know he recognized her too. Because after she asked, that's when he really looked at her. I hope he turned his life around. He looked sincere to me. And the the judge is cute you're right and I'm going to say she seems like a good human being too.
That was such a crazy moment... At first he was just hyped when he recognised her, but a split second later, he realises the situation he's in and shame hits him super hard... I'm sure her kind words that day motivated him to re-become a good person and probably changed his life!

Herta Schneider It’s almost kind of sad how you pompously correct the grammar of other people in order to disguise your general inability to add something of substance to the conversation.
I was initially feeling like she gave him a 'you're below me' hug, but after analyzing the video, I think it was just an awkward hug. He surprised her with the sudden motion to hug and by the time she committed, his arms were already already around her and she got stuck in an awkward position and tried to make the most of it. It's like when you motion to shake someone's hand and they grab your hand too low and shake your fingers but you just go with it any way.
A man is supposed to go low when hugging a woman but he went high. Her natural response was probably to go high but she was caught off guard when he didn't go low and she got stuck.
Man he smiles for a second there after he recognizes her and then immediately remembers the situation they're in and he just breaks down. This is really sad, I hope he's living a better life nowadays.
I cried when I saw the first video of these two...I've had friends like this. You see talent in people and then something happens along the way in their journey through life. I hope he does do good for himself. XXXX Also goes to show that the judge has a heart.
I watched their interaction on Court Cam TV, and it just made me cry. Her sweet smile, and his "Oh my goodness" when he recognized her. He looked so embarrassed, and ashamed. That Judge Mindy was there when her old friend Arthur was released was the kindest thing. I hope he gets better. God bless them both.
I love this.... I have seen several videos of this judge and her heart is so Noble.... She is so compassionate... If there were more people like this in this world I think we would all do better including me!! I hope he's been doing good out there!
I cried alongwith him. Imagine his regret, his thoughts, his embarrassment running through his mind during that time. I really hope he is a changed person. He looks like a good guy.
This actually makes my eyes tear up every single time I’ve ever seen this clip. Not to get even sappier still, but you can see what a sweetness there is inside this man as it is, and especially that it just comes right to the surface because of a simple reminder of the earlier times of childhood, a time when less things had gone awry, a time when despite any childhood challenges, there was maybe still more of a feeling of hope for the future - at least more hope than is felt as time goes on and bad things happen, and misfortune leads to trouble, and conditions deteriorate more and more. A simple interaction like this seems to maybe bring him right back to that younger mindset and contrasts it with the things of the present in a way that produces a paradigm shift. Honestly I love how the judge handled it here but also, watching this person smile and go “Oh my god,” suddenly looking like he’s 12 years old again, I’m just like, “Man, I love this guy!” It seems like this whole situation really fostered some good stuff all around.
I have a soft spot for the judge like she's so kind and respectful. The one being sent to prison makes me cry, this happen for like 4 years ago I hope he's living his best life.
Sometimes we change in so many ways when we grow up that we barely recognize ourselves anymore. When we see someone from the past who recognizes a part of our character that we thought we forgot, it can be overwhelming as someone is finally seeing us in a way that we haven't been seen in years. It can give you hope that underneath, those parts of ourselves and our past identity is still there. And that hopefully we can find our way back.
Yes some people would worry about being seen as unprofessional but this interaction was key to him turning everything around. I’m so glad she decided to speak to him on a human level

Can you blame a white woman for having reservations against hugging a black convicted felon?

Omg, choked me up, this is the kind of judges we need, empathetic and well-meaning people ❤️
Yes we do need more judges like that. My son broke into a house when he was 14 and the judge gave him 12 yrs in prison. He did his time in juvenile until 18 and is now serving the rest of his sentence in prison. Broke my heart. I read and seen murderers do less time.
@@tiffanycotton4616 OMG, I'm so sorry to hear that 😳 can't imagine the grief that has caused you. You can tell by this man's stance and then later by his reaction when confronted by the judge, he's likly not the common trouble maker but may have fell on hard times and made bad decisions. He has a tough journey ahead with a record but I hope it works out for him.

See Mr. Booth's family. Just Mom no Dad. That's the reason the nicest kid became a criminal - raised by a solo mom who probably kicked his nice Dad to the street.
@Gabriel Mayorga The Civil Rights Era was an organized effort by black Americans to end racial discrimination. Iate 1940s to late 1960s.
@Gabriel Mayorga Yes, but it's the Feminist Era and lawyers/judges who destroy children and families for money, and promote evil morals, gender disorders and killing babies.
Her words about him was stronger and more powerful than a hug who cares she spoke highly of him and in court she didn't act like she didn't know him speaks volumes of her character
This makes me teary. You can see the impact her asking if they knew eachother had on him. I really believe he will try to turn his life around, all because of that question. If not will some people just can't change, but I think he will.

He seems like a good guy who just made bad decisions. I have a feeling he'll stay on a better path from here on out.
Exactly. I think it sort of scared/shocked him straight. And helped because she was kind.
The judge simply displayed a heart full of hope and humility. More of her in our society makes better lives for people that needs second chances
Wow... go back to teaching art. Keep your feelings in your 'work". Sincerely a non bigot artist.
Aye, agree. Not everyone a hugger.
She is just being professional, considering how a 'normal' hug could be perceived as a sign of giving preferential sentence to her classmate.

@@Cassxowary Ain't nobody care about no double negative.

I love this. I am literally in tears. Good people fall into bad things some how. A little bit of love and tenderness goes a long way.
Well said....
That does happen. The thief on the right side of Jesus was that guy.
Same here!
Heartfelt, this honestly brung tears to my eyes😥. He looks sincere, I wish homie the best.

@@beronynelson9256I hope you're just joking lol
Why do you hope he is joking? I am legit wondering too. As in what specific part do you play as far as throwing/keeping people in jail, it's vague.
@@Remi_marie A jailer oversees all daily functions of a jail and housing of inmates. That includes conducting headcounts, random searches for contraband, serving meals, escorting inmates to visitation, escorting inmates outside for 1hr recreation, respond to fights, and ect.
