- A 8-year-old girl is sharing her heartbreaking story about the Wisconsin school shooting. "I heard the announcement saying this is not a drill, this is a real lockdown," says Nora Gottschalk. "A lot of people were hiding under the table and then people were hiding in the corridor of the library." Meanwhile, police raided the house of the 15-year-old shooter's father. She was identified as Natalie Rupnow, who went by Samantha. Inside Edition's Alison Hall has more.
No child should EVER go through this
I agree 💯
No ONE should go through this
But they went through and need to let adults what happened.
Children go tru war abroad we ain't seen nothing yet 😢
That's the new normal esp in US. Same as fire drills, now kids/ all people need to go thru safety training for such situations
Out of all the people, why interview a child who just witnessed a traumatic event?
Out of all people, why did her own father agree to allow his little girl to do this interview?!!?
Out of all people, why is the table behind her so cluttered?
She doesnt look so traumatized tho shes just chilling with her ice cream😂
This is America
She got ice cream out of it 😂 she doesn’t seem to mind
she should not be called "spongebob girl" like come on
brught to yu by carls jr
Fake outrage
You're right. It feels all kinds of disrespectful of the situation.
Fr like that's rude
One of the main reasons why i despise Inside Edition
Absolutely disgusting you guys share her full name and don't bother blurring her face. She just experienced a shooting and possibly the most traumatic thing she'll ever live through.
Grounded though.
If you listen closely, the reporter says “WITH HER DADS PERMISSION”
I agree. They should have never aired this little girl on TV like this.
Who cares
im pretty sure she didnt mind bro
Is this the kid who made the call? Unbelievable courage and fast thinking in an emergency.
Wasn’t a 2nd grader who called, it was a 2nd grade teacher
Its not the caller, the caller was a second grade teacher
@@isaiahtricemusic Oh I thought that the report said a student made the call
@@Sir-.- why would she have a cell phone
@@Sir-.- that was what the police chief stated yesterday. Today he corrected his mistake. It was the second grade teacher who made the call.
This is sad no kid should never go through something like this
😭💔😫
Yeah 🥺 🧽 True
I wouldn't be interviewing a second grader who just went through a traumatic event
That's literally the best person to interview... & it helps kids to talk through things
@@SurfNturfz in a private setting yes, not exploited for ad revenue
@@SurfNturfzwith a therapist, not a journalist.
Literally
@@ADOGNAMEDCUPCAKE because you're sheltered. I'm sure the camera isn't as traumatizing then the event she went through. Yall need to think before you speak.
I don't see a lot of media covering this shooting as much as others in the past, and it's unfortunate. The victims of the tragedy deserve to be remembered!
No child should ever go through anything like this.
We know
How dare Inside Edition put this little girl on TV like this. God Protect our Children.
How dare the father agree to the interview.
ah yes, the classic asking your imaginary friend to help with a problem that will definitely be ignored.
I was 8 minutes away from this school when this happened.
I’m only one state away from Wisconsin and this is so sad and terrifying I really hope all of those sweet babies can heal and recover from this traumatic event
A state away is far goofy. Stop trying to insert yourself into something that has nothing to do with you
@@book_worm22 Mentioning the fact that Wisconsin is my neighboring state does not mean I’m trying to include myself whatsoever, who would want to include themselves in a situation like that?? God flipping forbid I voice my sorrow and worries for children on the internet without having to get barked at by a random stranger.
@@book_worm22😂😂😂😅
@@Soda_tabI’m in Milwaukee, I used to know someone who went to my school and she moved to Madison and hearing that this happened, makes me feel even worse…I don’t know what school she goes to but hearing about this and knowing it happened makes me feel even worse. I can’t believe they would interview a 2nd grader and make her rethink about this all. I feel so bad for everyone affected
@@book_worm22a state away or not, pretty close to a state that this happened in is crazy. It’s scary too because people who boarder Wisconsin could get the idea of “oh we should do this!” (Well it can happen anywhere but I can see it happening more in a surrounding state) so it’s not stupid for this person to say they live a state away
Poor kids. Must’ve been hard for them after what happened.
They don't understand 😔
me too
Yes lets interview a child, to make them relive that horrific event and televise it!
GENIUS
Swear to god, its disgusting that the child went through it let alone recounting it for the world
Good people should see what’s going on why would you want to hide it
@@OMAR-vk9piyes but she has been traumatized, she should be given time to heal not having to relive the whole moment over again??
How about putting the blame on her dad, who allowed for the interview?!!!
Oh please, even if she didn't get interviewed. She needs to learn that life isn't all flowers and sunshine.
@@thedesensitizedsympathizer5307This comment is so insensitive of you? Of course life isn’t all sunshine but why would you willingly justify her experience with a school shooting like that
I knew at least a dozen kids who go to that school, and I'm praying for everyone who had to go through such a tragedy. 😢❤🙏
Another case of chronically online and entitled children. As a 23 year old who can more closely relate to the problems of a troubled individual there is no place for such loss. To take a life in the name of your own personal issues is cowardice. Good ridance. My condolences to those who lost their lives, except for the shooter of course.
i can agree that its cowardice but you also have to understand how they get to that point in the first place. thats not to empathize with her at all but she was a product of her environment
This is a big issue in the states, but no one cares.
Knife crime is a big issue in the UK, no one cares either.
Because if the government even tried something, people will claim their gun laws "unconstitutional".
...and only in America, no words.
Sometimes getting a divorce and getting bullied in school affects kids more worse than my era 🤔
No one should go through this at all
She got the perfect SpongeBob Popsicle
Can we not focus on the popsicle and focus on the serious topic?
And she'll never like SpongeBob again........
I mean, she’s that lucky.
Ok so
The parents will be charged exactly they were teaching her how to skeet shots😢
It’s not that uncommon to teach teenagers skeet shooting if you have that type of sportsman family. Just because that is not how you live, don’t assume there is something wrong with the way others live. Teaching teenagers how to safely handle firearms saves lives. If children live around firearms, education on the danger and safety is of the utmost importance! THIS specific teenager had mental health issues that were not being addressed. Please stop blaming inanimate objects for human conditions.
Yep, they're going to get charged
Skeet shooting is bird hunting practice.. just because it involves a gun doesn't mean it's practice to take human lives. Genuinely insane y'all would make that connection. Should parents get charged if their child gets a DUI? They taught them to drive. 🤷🏼
Yes 100 percent of charge
Coming from someone of a Older generation....
Growing up through the 60's and 70's, I don't recall the first school shooting anywhere.. We was taught young gun safety and how to hunt. We was even allowed to keep our guns in our vehicles if we drove to school... Alot of us hunted after school let out..
No one would even consider shooting anyone..
For one we was taught better.. Secondly we knew that wasn't how you settled a problem....
I feel so sorry for the children today.. That little girl is a good example. No child should have to experience what that child did... 😔
This will change these kids forever. 😢
This is traumatic she needs therapy smh this shouldn’t be happening to kids
You can tell how traumatized she is by her constant movements. She relives the trauma during the interview. It's sooo bad for her. She needs therapy.
I am so sorry little girl that you and your classmates have gone through this terrible moment.
She described the incident extremely well.
In that age, she doent know what is dangers, they see it as events happening.
God please take care of the kids, they don't deserve to go through this. I feel sorry for these kids.
god doesn't prevent these, wake up
Bullied bullied. Usually the reason. Stop bullying others!
It's America. They won't do a thing.
although i agree bullying is terrible, bullying doesn’t justify this or anything similar to this. taking the lives or attempting to take the lives of literal innocent children who have whole lives ahead of them is not justified. those kids aren’t going to be able to think of the things they enjoy the same such as christmas or school the same. bullied or not this is not okay.
She she went after elementary school children...
What do 2nd graders have to do with a 15 year old
WTH did the 2nd grader do to the 15 year old? Call him a poopy head? Because bullying being the cause doesn’t make any sense in this situation
0:26 did she get the perfect spongebob popsicle
Luck.
America needs to fix this. I’m so tired of this
So do I
More than 20 years since Sandy Hook, but there is no significant change about this,
Poor thing.. Children need to be protected n kept safe from this
The 8 year old sounded scared 😢
Is it sad that I'm used to this happening this now.
Thats so sad
STOP CALLING HER A SPONGES POPSICLE! She does not deserve this
Damn, at a private school? Don't hear that often...
She was new. maybe had problems at her other school.
That other young woman did similar at a Catholic school, was it last year?
She looks so done. Like why couldn't you get a TEACHER to interview??
You're right, it's so harmful and even they label her in the video as the "spongebob girl".
She relives the trauma when she talks about it (so early and without a professional help).
After all this who knows they might even charge the parents 🤔
Breaks my Heart
My heart aches for this child.. these children!! Never should they encounter what she and others did ! Praying for all families here.. including the family of shooter… a troubled situation!! 🙏❤️
Why was she getting bully for?
Must've been something pretty big considering she had to switch schools last year to evade it.
This is an example of why parents need to keep close eyes on their kids and talk to them frequently. Even if the child doesn’t want to talk, if they can tell something is wrong, either encourage the child to speak up or take them to a therapist.
She was in therapy... Obviously it did
NOT work for her.
Cant never get that perfect Spongebob Popsicle!
Da mess
STOP INTERVIEWING KIDS AFTER A TRAGEDY!!!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!?????
That newscaster just seemed so smug when she talked about the girl getting a Spongebob popsicle - like that makes up for our country's disgusting lack of gun control and it's just a cutesy little reward for a traumatic situation. Sick.
Plain and simple. Parents should be charged... If you own a gun and don't lock it up 💯security then it's on the Parents..... sending healing prayers for the family's 🙏
WHY IS IT ALWAYS IN MY STATE. 10 BAD THINGS THAT IVE SEEN IN VIDEOS TODAY HAPPENED IN MY STATE
That's awful 😔😞
This is absolutely terrible....that poor baby 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Why do I feel like she was forced to be interviewed just for the sake of the "daily scoop"?
⚠‼ Why did they have to interview a deeply traumatized child (= relive her trauma) and labeling her the spongebob girl (at 0:15)? It seriously vI0lates the rights of the child! ‼⚠
I thought cause the thumbnail she was traumatized cause of the eyeball change
Our country is out of control.
Trump 2 da rescue. 4 mo years 😢
Our world is out of control. Just 2-5 decades ago this stuff NEVER happened.
She's got a Spongebob Square pants popsicle, and she describes someone saying their leg was hurt. In every episode of SpongeBob, someone's leg gets hurt as a regular gag. Connections?
Arrest her father because he’s to blame just like the other one
IT'S SPONGEBOB POPSICLE GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Schools aren't safe anymore, that is devastating.
if you're going to talk about a serious topic don't name your witness SPONGEBOB GIRL.
I don’t know why people have to pick on people in the first place I mean she’s hugging that dog. She would definitely be the person that I would want to be friends with you know because she seems like an animal lover in my view, And she seems very, very, very happy in that photo with that dog. It seemed like she did have a life where she was happy and she felt no emotion of killing or whatever.
But no doubt that dog was probably there for her when she was sad. I bet you that dog came over to her and just comforted her and her darkest times and that’s probably what prevented her from acting and doing what she did much much much sooner, And I understand that you haven’t learned to handle and regulate your thoughts in your feelings
I am still struggling with that myself and I am 32 years old and if I saw anybody getting treated badly for a stupid reason, I probably would struggle very, very, very bad. I would probably regulate my emotions, but I would find it very very, very hard to walk away From that trust me, I hate bullies. I hate when people feel that they need to treat somebody badly over something so stupid and so unnecessary.
I mean, some people get bullied over clothing over different types of clothing styles that they wear some people get bullied over their glasses or the way they dye their hair. You know some people whether it’s one person or four people will find something that they don’t like about somebody and then sometimes it gets so bad that the person goes home with bruises and bumps on their body.
"spongebob girl" 🙄 how ridiculous!
Not only interviewing a deeply traumatized child, so she relives her trauma, but also labeling her... I reported the video, because all this is against her rights.
It's sad to think that they were so excited for christmas to celebrate christ or you never know I mean they could be excited to go home see there family but no some people just have to take that happiness away. Rest in peace to all the people that died and even the traumatizing survivors my heart goes out to you.
When I was in second grade, I wasn’t busy worrying about someone barging into the school with a gun.
Nowadays, society is making kids fearful of going to school.
Wish we never invented guns.
Parents need to be more active in their childs life.. Teach them right from wrong. Teach them accountable and responsibility.. So much has been lost in those areas..
As usual, they'll discover a thousand red flags leading up to this incident, all ignored.
You can tell how traumatized she is by her fidgeting
Don't bully people problem solved
Ok but it was a 15 year old harming 2nd graders, what did the 2nd graders even say to the 15 year old? Call them a poopy diaper baby?????
she seems unbothered
You can tell how traumatized she is by her constant movements. She relives the trauma during the interview.
Did anyone notice the houses in the distance at that skeet shooting range? Look closely at the photograph.
This crazy of an attack on a school just doesn't seem like average adolescence.
Imagine if we actually cared about kids.
money is more important apparently
Whoa there that sounds like a fascist talking point
You can always protect your children or help them
spongebob girl is not a good game
Y would u interview her
💔
why interviewing the kids?? leave them alone 😡😡
Wow 😮
Amd the worst part is, not a damn thing is gonna be done. This poor girl :(( thoughts and prayers, another shooting, wondering why this keeps happening, repeat. It never ends
Thank god im black 😢
I have a second grader 🥹we live in scary times 🙏💔
I could never
That's what happens and that's why bullying needs to be stopped in schools because it's just going to relapse and relapse and to everyone else that gets affected by bullying because if she was bullied by a bully then who knows if the bully was bullied him/herself. It's an ongoing pattern and it's not healthy.
So is the mom
All the children will be forever trmuratised 😢 i live with trmura as i saw the whol thing my mum walked out the home and never said good bye sepreted i still live the truma witness as 11 years old i was just a kid i still think it was my falt mum walke away 😢
Poor children
Let’s interview a child who just witnessed a traumatic event so we can get views
ok
Parents have to pay for security at the schools so it will be there if its needed.
💔🙏
The cycle is only going to repeat smh. 💔
Well hey at least she got a SpongeBob popsicle to comfort her. Courtesy of brenttv if I might add :)
BRENT TV FAN SPOTTED🔥🔥🔥
BRENTTV MENTIONED‼️‼️‼️
You're kidding me, right? WHY WOULD YOU INTERVIEW THESE LITTLE KIDS AFTER A TRAUMATIC INCIDENT????????? Have some decency lady!
WAHHHHHH SHE CAN STILL CLEARLY SEE THE AFTERMATH.....SHE MUST BECOME POLITICIAN IN FUTURE
Who is craving a SpongeBob popsicle now?
All the paperwork parents have to sign for school...there HAS to be a page or 2 or 3 saying IF YOUR KID GETS YOUR GUN....YOU WILL GO TO P R I S O N. For a LONG time.
why interview
This insane and it keeps happening
get involved in your child’s life, be invasive, it’s your right as a parent to see what they up to. This tragedy could’ve been prevented, and yet nothing is done. The cycle repeats itself sadly.
That poor girl
Still no gun control
Explain how this would been prevented....
It's easy to say, "Just get stricter gun control!", but the real solution is to hold the parents accountable. There have been countless cases where mentally ill kids get access to firearms because of their parent's choices or irresponsibility. Take for example the Oxford High shooting, Ethan Crumbley was given a gun for his birthday by his parents despite his parents knowing he was not mentally well. Gun control won't do very much to help this issue.
Here's a few things to keep in mind.
It would do as well of protecting as the UK's knife laws or fist laws do. She also stole the gun, so nothing that could really be done about that except hiding it better. Lastly, you saw just last week that the CEO shooter used a 3D printed gun, not a gun stolen/purchased.
She heard gun sots.
And once again we will hear thoughts and prayers and refuse to change. BAN GUNS ONCE AND FOR ALL
