I *think* this is a stitch I had a question about a few days ago and I would love to pick your brain about it. I was looking at tutorials for the Edelweiss stitch on needles and trying to work out how to do the "p2tog and then knit the same stitch" move on the loom. Is that roughly the same thing you're doing here?
Can you use that setup row for fisherman’s rib?
