I have a '20 Accord Touring 2.0T that I absolutely love! This is an awesome car that is a bit of a sleeper in my opinion. I honestly don't think the masses know how good the Accord actually is, especially in 2.0T trim. I can't say enough good things about mine. My only 2 quibbles are the merely average sound system and the smallish gas tank. Otherwise, I love the thing and look forward to driving it every single day.
My favorite thing about my 2022 sport 2.0t (Besides the fun in town) has to be its ability to cruise at 80mph in 10th gear ~2,000 RPM~ with plenty of power to accelerate without dropping a gear! Same goes for uphill driving around 30-40 mph, the gearing in this car is very well tuned
What an honest and completely informational review! I purchased the 2021 accord sport 2.0t, which I drive daily in the city. I am averaging 18 mpg. I test drove the Mazda 6 and Camry TRD before deciding on this sedan. I came away with the same sensations that the reviewer experienced with this sport model. Just everything about the Accord feels a touch better, infotainment system, seats, driver feedback from the steering, spacious layout of the cabin, the clean layout of the dash etc. as compared to the Camry TRD in particular. In hindsight, I should have bought the 2021 hybrid touring edition. My favorite color (still night pearl blue $395) wasn't offered in that particular setup.
How tf are you only averaging 18 mpg😂😂. I do a good bit of highway driving but I’m averaging 26-27, 29 sometimes if I try to be efficient and use Econ mode. Completely agree on all your other points though I love the damn thing. Only issue is the lack of bass in the stereo, which can be fixed with a sub.
@@donovanm5128 I get 19ish in the city with my 9th gen 2.4l N/A CVT Sport. Anyone saying they get 28MPG in the City has a Hybrid or EV. The stop and go traffic kills MPG.

Couldn’t disagree more about the transmission and it the professional driving journalists generally agree that it’s part of what makes the car special (it’s a 10 speed planetary instead of CVT in the 2T for viewers). It’s perfectly coordinated with the power curve. I haven’t experienced that gear confusion in 13,000 miles, that actually may be faulty with all the supply and labor problems. Otherwise I think you mostly got it right especially with the “fundamentals approach”, that’s just how I put it. Slap some better tires (stock are terrible) new springs and rear sway bar on a 2T accord, maybe a tune and it becomes a lot of car, the underpinnings are solid. Imperfect but IMO the best 32k you can spend on a car atm.
I just bought this exact model today except white paint. No way I was ever taking the hybrid over this model, but we all have different opinions. This model is beautiful.
The Touring is worth the suspension and other options the Sport lacks for the extra $5k. If you want the "on-tap" power of the 2.0t, you cannot beat the MPG you get over other sporty cars from other manufactures. It's always a give and take, and if you want 250HP+ you have to give in the MPG side. But what some folks don't think about with Hybrids is the cost of ownership long term. The 1.5t would be a better (budget) choice, due to less components to worry about (Batteries, re-genitive brakes, and all). The 1.5t Sport is a great budget option, Save $5k vs the Hybrid and anything additional from the maintenance long term. The Hybrid is slow, and really not worth the extra cost for MPG. If you want something with good MPG, get the 2023 Hybrid at the 41+ MPG you are better off then old Hybrid tech. But again Hybrids have more maintenance requirements and in some cases can cost serious money to fix outside manufacture warranty.
When you put enthusiast 👎. My son has the Accord we Sport Honda with a beautiful light new sonic color gray. IT IS HEAVENLY. I've always got a Honda( have HRV now). My lease runs out by 2022 in fall.... We'll see what I get.

The 2.0T is a lot of fun. Stop trying to sell me on hybrids Honda, I gladly pay an additional 20-30 bucks a week on gas. It's better than any happy pills doctors will try to pedal.
Hhhmmmm, shall we talk about the expense of replacing the hybrid battery? What is that going to cost? Plus the disposal fees for the batteries. I think I'll keep my gas mileage over what a hybrid is going to cost in the long run!
The sports curb weight is 50lb less than the touring. See Honda’s website on specs. Negligible. Especially when considering the cars weight could easily fluctuate +- 100lb depending on fuel tank level.

Downside to the hybrid is the CVT. I get why they put it in there but they really should pair it up with a regular transmission.
