@@ronaldostraubeldeoliveira We stayed on Santa Catarina Island (Florianopolis). Visited restaurants and beaches all over the island. Drove on the mainland too. Visited Blumenau. I loved it all. Even the view of São Paulo from the airplane.

"Enjoyed" Manaus. There's something very warm (not just the steamy weather), very real and down to earth about it. I like that market where you had your meal. Nice to see simple way of life, in a very complicated world.
The choice of music of “The White Stripes” is very symbolic because the band performed in Manaus at the Amazonas theater and it was such an incredible show that it became part of the theater's history.

Food all around the Amazon seems similar. I had soup and fish dishes very similar in the Peruvian Amazon city of Leticia. Very tasty.

Manaus está se desenvolvendo muito, nos últimos anos mudou muita coisa na cidade, só falta a prefeitura preservar mais o centro histórico.
A preifura precisa se empenhar mais no tocante em fazer do centro um ponto turistico

A cidade tem que se modernizar, tudo muito velho e sujo. Sem contar que tá cada vez mais perigosa.

O rio negro que é apenas um afluente já é enorme, imagina o Amazonas que em alguns pontos no período da chuva chega a dezenas de quilômetros de largura, é tão grande que parece que é um imenso mar interior.
O teatro Amazonas realmente é surreal. Lembro que a primeira visita foi quando eu tinha doze anos e eu fiquei fascinada. Obrigada por mostrar minha cidade ao mundo. Parabéns e sejam bem-vindos.

Eu mesmo brasileiro , nunca fui na Amazônia. Acho que.uns 80% ou mais tb. E sempre ficamos opinando. Mas a população local que vive nessa imensidão não influencia na política nacional. Séria bom até incentivarem o turismo nacional pra essa região, até desconhecida para nós do sudeste, Sul. Isso está acima do turismo em regiões rurais do Sul, sudeste.

Great Amazon! Pirarucú is the Brazilian Bacalao from the Amazon River. Enjoy it. We need to respect the jungle and the tribes that were the first inhabitants. Also we need to say "no" to animal trafficking.
This is a great clip of how diverse brazil is. One of my favourite places, Manaus, there are a couple good bars off that square.

Was not expecting a big city in the Amazon or all the 19th century architecture.Loved the ornate theatre and the historic district and the markets.Certainly didn't expect a big,long beach and modern towers! Another wonderful vlog on Brazil and Manaus, but I couldn't help noticing the optical illusion that started at 10:12 when it appeared as if the pattern (on practically every beachfront walkway in Brazil) on the ground was undulating and moving adjacent to Carol. Wow by accident.

The rubber tree latin name is Hevea Brasiliensis. Henry Ford tried to corner the rubber market or at least create his own source of rubbber for his car manufacturing by founding a rubber producing community called Fordlandia in the Amazon basin, ultimately unsuccessful but an interesting story.

Very nice video of Manaus. I spent over two years from September of 1970 to October of 1972 in Manaus and Itacoatiara serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Your video reminded me of my first experience in Manaus after arriving from training in Belem do Para.
Para conhecer o sabor do peixe tambaqui, o ideal é comer ele assado. Como você comeu, o caldo se misturou ao peixe devido ao tempero. Quanto ao pirarucu de casaca, é muito saboroso pela mistura entre salgado e doce. 😊

I had no idea that a beautiful urban area existed in the Amazon, with such beautiful and historic buildings. The markets, especially the one with heaps of fruits and fish looked so inviting. You're such a nice couple and I love that you speak Portuguese as I do also.

Hostel Amazonia!!! ...you don't have to stay at the hostel to book the 'into the Amazon' jungle lodge that is owned by indigenous Amazonians. The 'jungle' accommodations are very good...hammocks to cabins...the menu is very good....there are day and night excursions included....piranha fishing... A very good experience. And in Manaus there are 'river dolphin' tours where only the brave get into the water.
14:16 -> About a half hour past the bridge in the background is where the 'river dolphin' speed boats go. A kind of scary but awesome in the water Amazon experience.

I know people that have been around Brazil with no Portuguese knowledge at all so it can definitely be done. Especially in these big cities you can usually get cel phone reception everywhere so you can always use google translator 😁
