Here in Dominican Republic we do cassava too, it is one of our main traditional snacks. Yuca/Mandioca is a huge part of our diet. I also saw yautia plants around your camp in this video, yautia is also a very important food in DR. Carambola is also common here. Looks like Brazil and DR have more than a few things in common, foodwise at least lol

Most Brazilians are Christians, so for us Christmas is a very special time, very important!
Sleeping in a hammock can be rough but I’m sure sleeping on the ground deep in the Amazon jungle would have been a far worse experience😂. Great video, definitely want to copy this experience

Sleeping in a hammock is actually really good. Maybe her neck was sore because she was too close to the end of the hammock, usually you gotta sleep with your body as close to the middle, or the hammock would need to be lower so it is not too angled.
Also, a disclaimer for the star fruit: do NOT eat too much. Star fruits have oxalic acid and some other components that are really harmful to the kidneys. So, it's bad for people with kidney problems, but also to people with healthy kidneys.

Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽❤️ If You liked this adventure and haven't been to River Kwai in Thailand I can truly recommend it 🇹🇭❤️ It reminds a little of this adventure You had and I LOVED it 🥰 It is still one of the best adventures I have had, and still not many things can't compete with that trip 🥰 Most people think or recognize River Kwai from the famous railway, movie and/or war. But it is so much more. I stayed in the djungle living in rafts right on the river. The River Kwai Jungle Raft hotel in River Kwai. We swam in the river, we had no electricity or internet. We met the MON people (inhabitants of the djungle), we saw wild animals, beautiful flowers, visited caves, waterfalls, rode the old steam train, boats and so much more. Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪

Amazing experience you had in the Amazon rainforest. After seeing your video spending the night with the natural elements, I’m ok and settled with the museum visit only😀 not only it’s creepy hearing those sounds at night but sleeping and practically hanging in a hammock all night. It’s not comfortable and how about if those creatures will attack us? What’s the contingency plan aside from running to no where within the jungle😀 I’m ok with staying in town of Manuas and trek the rainforest but not staying a night there. The sounds of those howling monkeys ……Wish you have seen anaconda and other snakes in the museum too. Oh, the biggest 🐊 it’s pre historic and probably still exist in the deep jungle and rivers far from civilization. From time to time, there are very large crocs and gators seen and captured near villages in some tropical countries. Thanks guys for sharing your Amazon rainforest adventure. Love your video!

I think you persuaded me that I must see the Amazone region. I am an old fart but longed to visit it for close to Sixty years now. I should have done it when I was younger and still had relatives in Brazil.
I still have many butterflies sent to be from Para and Peru sixty years ago.

When you sleep in a hammock, don't sleep straight, sleep a little off from like 5 to 10 degrees off, so that you don't have a neck ache, and so you can sleep better through the night.
