Another blatant way that I could tell that that character screen photo is fake is where Sonic and Tails are placed on the roster. Melee's roster organizes its fighters based on what series they're from. If there are 2 fighters that are from the same series chances are, they're going to be right next to each other, above or below each other or are on a line of fighters from the same series. But Sonic and Tails are on the complete opposite sides of the roster.
You can unlock him you need to beat all the sonic games on gamecube make sure their on the same memory card than go on to melee than go to the name maker and put it as sonic than you need to beat sonic on green hill zone act 1 form sonic 1 when you beat him you will unlock him to get tails you need to have beat all talis story on SA1 than get all A rank on his levels in SA2 than go into the name maker and put your name as talis to unlock him to unlock Knuckles you must beat SA1 on his story and get all A rank than go into melee and yyou will need to beat him in a fight to the end of the world when you beat him you will unlock him to unlock dr.eggman you must beat SA1 or get all A rank on his stages in SA2 than go into melee and go to the name maker and put it as dr.eggman than you will unlock him to get Amy just beat her story in SA1 or you will just have her playble to unlock
I imagine an alternative universe where third-party characters were introduced in Melee instead of Brawl
