I just noticed a nice touch on the Green Hill Zone stage in Melee that Amy replaced Silver in the background since Sonic 06 wasn’t out around that time.
I think Sonic is the only 3rd party character to gain a redesign between Smash games (aside from general graphical improvements and color saturation that’s more game-wide) In his first appearance, he’s based on 06 and Secret Rings models, while in 3DS/Wii U/Ultimate, he’s based on his post-Unleashed design (Ultimate also adds some post-Forces artwork detailing with little lines indicating quills)
