The gameplay in Melee is tight too. Movement looks so clean, especially at a high level. It is very entertaining to a casual or a competitive player, with advanced movement options ie wavedashing making it perfect for competitive play. Melee sums up smash perfectly.
Same here when I was a little kid playing it when my dad rented it at Blockbusters but we have to return it I was crying but my Dad decided to get the game for me this time for good at the store

JUde Fabien the 64 intro isn’t all that nostalgic, but melee just makes me remember the good old day of turning on my game cube getting my purple controller and playing a couple games with my brother. I feel like melee is superior to the other because of the nostalgia. Basically the only reason I feel melee is better is because of personal bias, I hate brawls intro tho
SSBB was the smash game that really got me into it. The music, the characters, (especially) the story mode. Brawl is the smash that helped me and my siblings bond and get along through tough times. We still go back and play it from time to time. Brawl will forever hold a place in my heart. 💕💕💕💕
Brawls opening is just so epic. Really makes you feel an amazing grand story is goin on with all the characters. Which it was cuz subspace emissary lol. I feel nothing like that when watchin ultimate opening. I actually always just skip it
Wild to think I've played all of the versions, and each time each new version of the theme came on, my smile changed a bit but was still there. Each one brought memories of different times in my life. Crazy.

Yes in the brawl intro they are on the same cliff as in ultimate they are on a cliff that leads to water both the same edges and also both are really sunset beatiful and if Nintendo says EVERYONE is here then that means that they are on the same cliff and in lifelight you hear that whistle part as in brawl in the in game trailer so all the games are mixed into a *Ultimate Smash Bros* ^_^ I hope your question was answered by us enjoy what you think(I know a lot of smash Bros theories..)
Oh my god I am crying. Brawl and Melee gave me the feels. I like how Wii Us is fast paced but my favorite part of that was the Mega man part with the rock music... got me so hyped. And who ever sings World Of Light deserves a Grammy.
64 Smash ALWAYS deserves a shout out. It was the first, and it paved the way for the many great ones to follow. It holds a special place in all of our hearts, whether, like me, you started there, many years ago, or if you never even played it😊
Melee’s intro is honestly pretty amazing how it’s stood the test of time and still managed to stay absolutely incredible. Nothing compares to that shit with Sheik and the goosebumps giving music playing in the background or when the announcer screams “Melee!” at the end of the opening with that glorious score in the background. While I didn’t grow up with Melee or have ever played it that much, that opening sells it for me. Brawl and Ultimate are pretty great but I just have a *gamer orgasm* whenever I hear that Melee music.
Im not ashamed to say it. Brawl was the first smash game that I had played and just turning on the wii and clicking on brawl to only hear the opening. It brings a lot of memories 😌.

The fact they added that throwback makes it as if Smash actually had a timeline and is not like a cartoon where the thing that happened earlier doesn’t matter, as if it really is canon. In fact, Palutena mentions Brawl in Smash 4 and Ultimate in an Easter Egg.

It's a bad match even if the theme can be good. meanwhile Melee openng have a near perfect match throught the intro as well as the best and last Epic anouncer voice screaming as a last HURA

I’ll never forget being a child and my mom putting the first smash bros in layaway for me. And then finally getting it and playing it, probably one of my earliest memories. I have a memory for each smash game I got, and watching this is too much nostalgia
nah smash 64 is the best imo the ost is so hype and i just love when he shouts SUPER-SMAAAAAAAAASH BROTHEEEEEEEERRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS nothing has matched it since and i dont think thats a bad thing. all the intros are uniquely awesome
Everybody’s like Brawl is so nostalgic when I don’t have a Wii U or Nintendo Switch so I’m still playing it Edit: finally got a notification and remembered this comment from a whole year ago. I currently have a switch now and main Ness (without being toxic, I’m at the point of repositioning with magnet and making *crisp* movements.) and DK, (also all you people spiring to get good, instead of running off with cargo throw to back throw, when you get to the very edge, move the other way and down throw. It’s more reliable and messes up tech timing.) although I play ultimate, I still revisit brawl every now and then... I hope you people in the replies are able to get your hands on ultimate at some point :p gl.
Hey bd. Watching this really makes you appreciate just how far Super Smash Brothers has come in 20 Years. So much nostalgia, i think my head might explode.
I remember being 6 and going into my older brothers room when he slept at my grandmothers, turning on his tv, Turning on the Nintendo to play whatever game was in last and not many things have ever come close to that moment of wonder.. The music went along with my curiosity at first then exploded to the montage of fighters. I stayed up late playing classic mode and losing a lot but man... those colors lighting up the room while I stared at the spectacle on the tv was something else.. freaking love Nintendo.

Melee still #1. When released, Melee was generations ahead of the pack. In gameplay, graphics and music. I remember seeing all my favorite nintendo characters , like Link, in colorful, glorious 3D styling for the first time. I was simply in awe every time I played it.
Wii U is a very underrated Smash tbh. I prob out like more than 150 hours into it. Brawl was just a classic and its music is a masterpiece. Now Ultimate is the best gameplay wise and characters BY far.
Its because the 3DS ruined it to me it could have sold more copies and stop being the least sold smash bros and having more characters like ice climbers it could have even sold more wii u if sakurai wasnt so dumb like not putting waluigi
Man, Smash 4’s intro is super under-appreciated. Compared to the other games’ openings, it is by far the most action-packed and flashy, which fits the overall nature of Smash Bros. Whereas the other intros feel more monumental and emotional, Smash 4 gets you pumped and hyped to enter the fray!
Happy 20th Birthday Smash!! It’s been fun playing this game with my cousins on Brawl (My first Smash game) I really enjoy the songs, characters, story (Stories If World of Light count) and maps!! I started to learn more about other Nintendo characters like Dark Pit and I really enjoy Kid Icarus and there actually really interesting. Toon Link and Dark Pit became my most favourite characters (and mains) cause of Smash and there original game. Super Smash Bros you’ll never let me down!! Continue on and become more awesome!! You’ll never let all of us down!!
Smash 64 is so nostalgic man!! Damn I remember being in first grade going to the day care and they had the game and those old ass TVs. It was fun getting better n wreck all the other kids at the day care
The intro for Melee makes me cry everytime due to nostalgia 😭 I remember back when we lived in our old house, we converted half of the garage into a den and we had this huge TV that we'd hook the NGC to and we'd play Melee ALL THE TIME ... I MISS MY CHILDHOOD! 😭
I was 100% crying at the end of this video. I have so much nostalgia for the first 3 games. I've been playing smash literally since i could hold a controller(I'm about as old as melee). Sm4sh less so because i played that basically myself the whole life of the game. And then a year later, I now reminisce to the Joker reveal right before midnight launch. This is my favorite video game series. Yup.
I geniunely have never known why. But coming back to both Brawl and Melee's intros after a long time put me in tears. Melee's specifically with that iconic yell. IT'S SO MAGNIFICENT!!!!

You watch the first game for N64 intro, and you can tell why the franchise was destined to be a success, some of the most iconic and popular video games characters of all time together, it was such a crazy concept on that time and it just got crazier with time, seeing Mario, Sonic, Megaman and Pac-Man that are probably the 4 most iconic Video game characters together in a SINGLE GAME just blows your mind.
Brawl is the only one I have, but honestly, I am so grateful it was the first one I played. If I played a newer game first, then chances are I would’ve been a Kirby/Yoshi/Pikachu player. You know, the one that plays characters for cuteness? But since Brawl was my first, the story mode forced me to try new characters. Eventually, I discovered a certain under appreciated angel boy. Pit is now my main, and I aim to improve every day. Does anyone have tips for maining him in Brawl/3DS? I’m getting the game for 3DS soon.

The gamecube was a HUGE level up un terms of power and had one of the best game libraries on any console ever. too bad it didn’t sell that well.

SSBB was the smash game that really got me into it. The music, the characters, (especially) the story mode. Brawl is the smash that helped me and my siblings bond and get along through tough times. We still go back and play it from time to time. Brawl will forever hold a place in my heart.

Melee’s intro is honestly pretty amazing how it’s stood the test of time and still managed to stay absolutely incredible. Nothing compares to that shit with Sheik and the goosebumps giving music playing in the background or when the announcer screams “Melee!” at the end of the opening with that glorious score in the background. While I didn’t grow up with Melee or have ever played it that much, that opening sells it for me. Brawl and Ultimate are pretty great but I just have a *gamer orgasm* whenever I hear that Melee music.

I get all the freaking feels when the music changes with Shiek playing the harp and the image of Zelda in the back in the Melee intro! 😢 Nostalgia triggered.
Melee still #1. When released, Melee was generations ahead of the pack. In gameplay, graphics and music. I remember seeing all my favorite nintendo characters , like Link, in colorful, glorious 3D styling for the first time. I was simply in awe every time I played it.

Wii U is a very underrated Smash tbh. I prob out like more than 150 hours into it. Brawl was just a classic and its music is a masterpiece. Now Ultimate is the best gameplay wise and characters BY far.
Its because the 3DS ruined it to me it could have sold more copies and stop being the least sold smash bros and having more characters like ice climbers it could have even sold more wii u if sakurai wasnt so dumb like not putting waluigi

Man, Smash 4’s intro is super under-appreciated. Compared to the other games’ openings, it is by far the most action-packed and flashy, which fits the overall nature of Smash Bros. Whereas the other intros feel more monumental and emotional, Smash 4 gets you pumped and hyped to enter the fray!

Happy 20th Birthday Smash!! It’s been fun playing this game with my cousins on Brawl (My first Smash game) I really enjoy the songs, characters, story (Stories If World of Light count) and maps!! I started to learn more about other Nintendo characters like Dark Pit and I really enjoy Kid Icarus and there actually really interesting. Toon Link and Dark Pit became my most favourite characters (and mains) cause of Smash and there original game. Super Smash Bros you’ll never let me down!! Continue on and become more awesome!! You’ll never let all of us down!!

I was 100% crying at the end of this video. I have so much nostalgia for the first 3 games. I've been playing smash literally since i could hold a controller(I'm about as old as melee). Sm4sh less so because i played that basically myself the whole life of the game.
And then a year later, I now reminisce to the Joker reveal right before midnight launch.

You watch the first game for N64 intro, and you can tell why the franchise was destined to be a success, some of the most iconic and popular video games characters of all time together, it was such a crazy concept on that time and it just got crazier with time, seeing Mario, Sonic, Megaman and Pac-Man that are probably the 4 most iconic Video game characters together in a SINGLE GAME just blows your mind.

Worth every minute watching my childhood becoming an adult.
Brawl is the only one I have, but honestly, I am so grateful it was the first one I played. If I played a newer game first, then chances are I would’ve been a Kirby/Yoshi/Pikachu player. You know, the one that plays characters for cuteness? But since Brawl was my first, the story mode forced me to try new characters. Eventually, I discovered a certain under appreciated angel boy. Pit is now my main, and I aim to improve every day. Does anyone have tips for maining him in Brawl/3DS? I’m getting the game for 3DS soon.
