- Law enforcement is pursuing the rider of a dirt bike who fled from officers in Glendale Friday evening. Authorities say the rider sped away from an attempted traffic stop for reckless driving along the 134 Freeway. July 19, 2024.

There's actual crime in the city, but law enforcement was fixated on chasing a dirt bike for reckless driving? The irony is chases have been called off for crimes more serious than that.

This would have been me back in the day about 50 years ago, before cities started using ghetto birds to track pursuits. Did my share of avoiding cops on local fire roads myself as a crazy teenager.

Two RCMP came after me while riding a 76 250 SuzukiMoto-X in 1977 with an expansion chamber, near the Don Valley Parkway & the 401; they were riding horses and literaly jumping accross creeks. They heard me but didn't see me, so I ditched the bike in the woods. They arested a kid with a road bike and I gave one of them his hat back. I actually yelled at the TV during this one.
