Today, we reflect on one of the most stunning and gifted American singers of the 1980s. Were you aware of her proficiency in Spanish singing as well? This serves as a tribute to Laura Branigan. Her full name was Laura Ann Branigan, hailing from Irish and Italian ancestry, born in New York on July 3, 1952. From a young age, she harbored a passion for both performance and music. NOTE: Both her father and grandfather died of aneurysms. She had a headache for a few days. However, she did not see a doctor. So that's what the headline is about.
So sad what a waste , very interesting that dad and grandfather also died of Aneurysms , maybe she also has a venous malformation , these are very very rarely genetic but geez I wish she had seen a GP . Bless her in heaven , a wonderfully talented lady 🇦🇺🦘
WOW!!! She was a beautiful woman with a remarkable voice. A voice we all fell in love with way back in the 80s. A time when we were all young and beautiful... Thank you very much Laura for all your beautiful music. Miss you very much. From Capetown down in South Africa... ❤❤❤😢😢😢
I play both these songs by Laura Brannigan on my saved Amazon music list! I’ve been wondering why I haven’t heard anything from her. I should’ve googled. What a young age to pass.
She had such an enduring presence on the airwaves during the eighties. What a powerhouse vocalist. Yet up to now, I realize I knew so little about her.
Such a powerful voice, a beauty. You know that is Laura Branigan when you hear her unmistakable voice. Had no idea she lost her husband to cancer, 😢. We miss you Laura, God has brought you both together in a new life. God bless her family and friends. 🫶
I have 2 brain aneurysms and am scheduled for surgery next Friday. I had gone to the grocery store to pick up a couple of items and started seeing lighting bolts out of my left eye. As an RN I knew this could be a retinal detachment so I went to the ER. They did 2 CAT scans and found the aneurysms. You don't have any symptoms when you have an aneurysm or very rarely. My Dad died from multiple aneurysms as they tend to run in families. 'Gloria' was my favorite song of Laura Branigan. I'm a little older than she was at 58. May she RIP.
Laura was my favorite female singer. She had an incredible voice, and made every song she sang hers, no matter who else sang it. I was saddened when I learned about her passing; I still listen to her music and smile, thinking in of this beautiful person. My favorite song of hers is The Power of Love.
I always loved her songs!!! She was so beautiful inside and outside, full of talent like nobody else! I hope she will be an inspiration to future singers… Very missed!!!! 😢❤😢
Yep I heard she died long time ago! Sometimes the news doesn’t let ya know. Before media was so big she passed away. I always liked her song ….called !? Something about Night!? SELF CONTROL! Many greats have left us! Music now… most isn’t so good anymore!
I was a big fan. She had beauty and talent and I really looked up to her. Needless to say I was devastated by her death. She is very much loved and missed 🥲💕
Yess Laura Branigan Is One Of The Best Singer Of All Time For Me Laura Branigan Barbra Streisand Celine Dion Patsy Cline Helen Reddy Peggy Lee Olivia Newton John... The Best White Voices Of All Time
Beautiful lady and great singer. She was in a truly loving marriage and was a major pop icon in the 1980's. We can only wonder how much more successful she would have been had tragedy not befallen her. She is sorely missed and will never be forgotten.
I recall being in the Military, stationed in New England. We played a softball game against her and her band...OMG we had a blast! Great people, so much fun! When I heard of her passing suddenly, I cried. Not just because of what I experienced with all of them, but because of her music and who she was as a person. I think of her sometimes, esp when her videos come up, like these!
Absolutely adored here in the 80’s had her cassette tabes, and later CD’s. I reflect that her worst luck was being in the 80’s where, frankly, there was soooo much very stiff competition with so many other incredible, and talented female singers.
What a Tragedy and Loss that was? Until just now, I'd never had a Clue of that happening. She was fantastic, so Great and I really loved Her music back then. But I was never a Die Hard Fan that really lived & breathed it. IT now saddens Me that she was Lost too us that away. So Thank you for Telling Her Story. May She RIP, by Our Lord's Side forever More. 🥺😳🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️🤍💙❤️🤍💙👍👍👏👏.
@@mikegarippo7815 Hey to You Mike. Your opinions & mine are different. So you do it & see thing's Your way. And I'll do the same. As for Laura Branigan Her passing at that time was Saddening and very emotional for her Family and Her Fans that were said too be like family too Her. Thanks for commenting before.
Her song Gloria, comes on at the restaurant(Soda Steve's Restaurant) I work. 🍔 🍟 I love it. ❤ We only got one more weekend to work. Technically, we are already closed. 🔒 But, every year The 4-H Club comes to the resort and stays 3 days. 🍀 And we cater to them. 🤎
THE 80S WERE MY ERA I WAS A MOD A NEW ROMANTIC GOT INTO ROCK AND HIP HOP AT THE END OF THAT DECADE BUT I ALWAYS REMEMBER SELF CONTROL. AN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT SONG REST IN PEACE LAURA BRANNIGAN A TRAGIC LOSS SO VERY YOUNG 52 IS NO AGE AT ALL FROM DAVID IN ENGLAND 🙏🌈♥️🎸🤘🎶
She was a multi-gifted person. Great beauty, incredible voice, musical talent, and on top of it all, a world class athlete. She was asked to try out for the US Olympic swimming team while in high school. But she had already decided she wanted to be a performer. Simply, the top of the gene pool.
LAURA BRANIGAN SONG "GLORIA" WAS SUCH A BIG HEAT AND IT SHOULD HAVE WENT NUMBER ONE!!! SUCH A UPBEAT SONG!!! I LOVE THE WAY SHE SCREAMED OUT THE NAME " GLORIA"!!! THE YEAR GLORIA CAME OUT, IT WAS MY FAVORITE SONG THAT YEAR AND I STILL HAVE IT ON MY PLAYLIST AND ALWAYS WILL!!!
She was so pretty, very talented, so very much missed , even after nearly 20 years , may your sweet soul rest in heaven ly peace, from a fan in North Queensland Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
She was very beautiful. Gloria was powerful song the she handled wonderfully. I was shocked to hear of her death. Now she dwells in the house of the lord.😢
I was of the understanding that Laura was of just Irish descent, esp. since she looks so Irish. I looked her up in Wikipedia which said she was just Irish-American, her mother was Kathleen O'Hare who came from O'Connor, Conway, etc.
I read that her brother was visiting her at the time, and he knew that something was wrong. I read that he begged her to go to the hospital. I wish that she had. I love her music, she is missed.
Financial struggles & other stress factors can be deadly, if not debilitating. I suffered a right-hemisphere cerebral stroke, which almost killed me, now about 3-years ago. It has been a slow struggle to recovery but I have made progress. Life slowly is returning to normal but I have gone through hell and back.
Your AI sincerity is wonderfully appreciated. Laura Branigan was very talented and although not quite wasted - had she been around in the 60's she would have fronted up a rock band like Janis Joplin or Grace Slick. Like Jennifer Rush it was difficult to find a place for her but she seems like a very caring woman who looked after her partner and her mother and as usual in these instances neglecting herself.
We all will die, many in pain. To go to bed, to sleep, then the light switched off - wow. Her lovely voice plays in my head. She remains part of the conciousness of millions. So many yet unborn still to see and hear her. ❤

The word "dad" doesn't get capitalized; it's a common noun.
Laura was my favorite female singer. She had an incredible voice, and made every song she sang hers, no matter who else sang it. I was saddened when I learned about her passing; I still listen to her music and smile, thinking in of this beautiful person.
My favorite song of hers is The Power of Love.
Loved her music and even recorded a version of 'Maybe I love you' with some friends in the late 80's!

I seen her ghost just like looking at a living person. The day after I thanked her for her music. I am still in shock. ❤
Wow, tell me more please ! 😮😊

Bullshit
Grew up in 80s listening to her songs. Still cherish her songs.
Many people from all ages just carry on in pain its called old school. Really liked her songs.
Laura Brannigan was gifted with a beautiful, unique voice. I think her single "Solitaire" best demonstrated her power and range.
Absolutely adored here in the 80’s had her cassette tabes, and later CD’s. I reflect that her worst luck was being in the 80’s where, frankly, there was soooo much very stiff competition with so many other incredible, and talented female singers.
It was very sad that she passed away at such a relatively young age. I will always enjoy listening to her music. RIP Laura
Young are you fucking mad she was a old lady

No, her death was not a "tragedy." A tragedy represents something catastrophic and involves many lives, not an individual person.

I missed this! She has a great voice. It was different.
She once asked if someone how she was supposed to live without that person. My question now. How do we live without her?
You’ve survived for many years without her.
She's a fellow New Yorker, and I still love her singing.
